Good morning all. I find myself at times being agitated by grammar, it seems to be getting worse as I age, and don't even get me started on others shorten the language by using "U" and b4 and many others..or IDK leaving it up others to decipher the meanings.

Urban dictionary has proven very useful for me since joining the forum. Not being a typer I find "shortening the language" much less frustrating than editing every post. For myself adapt and evolve is only annoying for a short time while not adapting is annoying for life. Things change; you change with them or at least accept the alternations otherwise you are just frustrating yourself over something you cannot force to your will.

I meant that some of the reviewers on YouTube, the way they speak, I don’t want to see how they mangle the language in writing. I’m sure that’s not the case across the board. And I’m not perfect, I misspell, can’t type worth a darn. But still, I think if someone is trying to make a living writing, they ought to at least know when to use an apostrophe and the difference between they’re and there. There are shops I won’t buy from because “rda’s” pokes my eye lol.

Local store started offering hot and ready lunches. So of course I went to check it out. Well it was Tuesday, and the woman at the counter asked what she could do for me. I said she could take the apostrophe out of “Taco’s”. And I’ve never gotten lunch there.
I have to admit, this does get on my nerves too. Somebody that writes for others to see supposedly has something to say and we are supposed to want to listen so make it correct or I am going to deem myself much smarter than you and therefore not give a hoot what you have to say because you are now full of ..... I know, harsh and judgemental. I have a very low tolerance for nonsense, even with family and friends. Sorry that is just me.

Also, I graduated from trades school. I never went to college, but my best friend did, she’s a lawyer and her parents were a lawyer and an English professor. She will cut me off mid sentence and correct my grammar. She edits my texts. And then she’ll apologize, and I just laugh and thank her. I love it. She’s still trying to get me to grasp the lay/lie/laid/layed thing that’s always confounded me.
I have this same friend, a tax accountant. It drives her crazy to hear me say "realtor" (I say "re la ter") and a few other things. She always stops to correct and I am like "you know what I meant, why do you have to correct me, you are not my mom"
My mom was the worst. If I walked in and said "me and Kim are going swimming" she would say "who" and I would repeat "me and Kim" and I would get "who' again until I grasped and said "Kim and I" then I could go. There were a million of these.

Good Monday everyone. LOL, @Possum64 , thank you for looking for cherry ripe. I would have been stunned if you found it, but those other ones do bring back memories.

I have studiously examined all the shiny and bought nothing although that Battlestar was tempting. I don't think I'd use it that much.

LOL, my mom and I had the big blowup fight yesterday afternoon. Although (and I am not awake enough to describe it) I flew into the house in "high dudgeon" as it were, and I grabbed the husband and DID describe it at high speed, and asked if I could punch him someplace to "get my irritation out." LOL, of course he refused, so I was like "Give me a hug then!"

Miraculously that just cheered me up and not only did I apologize immediately to my mom, well, she went to lay down (I had to call my dad anyway, and unlike the other kids, decided to go ahead and be the go between (they're all so much better at my mom than me and say no) and told my dad that my mom felt really bad about his brother and to offer condolences (he took it well) and then went in because I KNEW she was still upset, and apologized for hurting her feelings and gave her a hug. She was all "Mommyesque," and was like ,"I'm sorry too. I know I hurt YOUR feelings. I just... Well, I was being a JERK, I was being MEAN."

I don't think my mom has ever said stuff like that in her life, so it was weird. I guess she DID come here as a Hajj "obligation" because she told me, "I just came her to spend time with you, and be a good parent and say sorry for anything bad I'd done before Hajj!" when she was upset. She was all happy that my dad was appreciative of her message and etc.

It kind of made me realize, at least these days, for my mom "harmony" equals the state of being "remorseful" where as I was all about "If I have seething questions/concerns it's not harmony." LOL, my poor mom, life could not have given her a more difficult daughter to live with.

To be fair, this was the nicest and speediest actually APOLOGY (meaning actions) I have ever given my mom, so progress. LOL.

She also had fun at the antique stores and even found something pretty cool and massively underpriced that I could buy her (it was insanely underpriced).

Now, shipping! LOL.

Just watched an amazing thing...a squirrel was resting on the fence post and a bee was collecting pollen close by. The bee flew by and the squirrel caught it and rubbed the bee on it's chest then let the bee go. The squirrel then proceeded to lick the pollen off his body, arms, and hands.

New Ups guy. He pulls up and asks me my address. It’s clearly in my front porch, so I point it out. He tells me what address he’s looking for. I say, not sure which house. You’re in the right town, but wrong street. You shouldn’t have turned here.

He asks if the road he was just on is the right road... well yeah, what I just said, he shouldn’t have turned. I ask, which town? South is the next town, north is my town. So he says, this town.

Then he takes off and turns south. I mean, I even pointed. Sure, GPS is sketchy here. I get that. But wow, buddy, when someone points you the right way and you still can’t get it... no wonder half my stuff never makes it here.

He’s gone past three more times as I write this. I am rotflmao. He is beet red and swearing.

What kind of neighborhood do you live in where there are squirrel gangs mugging bees? That sounds terrifying.
