YAY future shiny event, I got my "are you a censored person" user call from the UA place. LOL I always feel so sorry for my husband in those moments because Costco is GOOD except their filled on dates are almost illegible. The husband took about 70 photos and like, was having fits. I'm such an idiot, really, I mean I was like, "Can't you just make that area darker?" and he was like, "YOU want me to DOCTOR UP a picture of your Adderall is what you are saying to me?" Sometimes I do not think, so I was like, "Yeah, okay I can see how that would be bad," so it was another 59 photos. Then he did this awesome panoramic series all in one file, and I was like, "Okay, so will gmail HANDLE that file?" and then I got a lecture on file shrinkage and to like Not Doubt His Abilities, so I was like, "Cool," and sent it.

This means one step closer to start date in 11 days! Oh my it could actually occur????

I did not bring up the RV today, I was like, "Maybe after yoga we could go clean out one shed." There is so much not needed stuff in there, honestly. Gonna have to schedule a salvation army truck.

@Iotodem Either a Drop rda or a Dead Rabbit rda would be great to start building on. Both have super easy decks, good flavor and squonk pins are included. I'm pretty sure you could find either for a good price since they've both been out a while. Both can be built single coil too, so you can try each setup to see what suits you best. When starting out it's best to get an rda with good airflow. You can always dial it back to suit your style but you can't add airflow to a restrictive RDA.

Also, watch what you want and don't feel like you have to justify why. No one is judging anyone here. I watch all of those popular Youtubers. Some for entertainment and some for the nice closeups of vape gear I'm interested in. No shame. Welcome to the shiny side.
alright, to be honest before i even came to the forums i was thinking of a Drop or Dead Rabbit i just wasnt sure if i was seeing the aesthetic side of them or the actual quality.

Here are some links to the most popular ones:

Dual Coil
Drop Dead:
Hellvape Drop Dead RDA (Piano Full Black) - US at DashVapes.com
Dead Rabbit: Hellvape Dead Rabbit 24mm RDA (Black) - US at DashVapes.com
Drop:
Looks soldout

Single Coil
Wasp
(I would get at least this if you're not getting a single coil, probably best thing to learn on): Oumier Wasp Nano RDA (Black) - US at DashVapes.com
Recurve
(this would be my #1 suggestion): Wotofo Recurve RDA (Black) - US at DashVapes.com
Profile: Wotofo Profile RDA (Stainless Steel) - US at DashVapes.com

I have a drop, dead rabbit, and dead drop (and others).

Drop is the most airy one, and my least favourite. Dead rabbit is better for squonking, IMO, because you can squonk and let the juice complete submerse your coils. The Drop makes you wet the wicks at the bottom and it draws up to the coil. The Drop Dead is my favourite out of the 3. You can almost submerse the coil, but it has the best quality of life features (like the top cap being locked, airflow being easily adjustable).

I also have the Wasp, Recurve, Drop Solo (and others).

I would recommend a recurve. It's probably the best overall on the list. You can save on battery life and get better flavour. And it will make more than enough clouds. Like a lot of clouds. If you don't get it, I would at least get the wasp. It's super cheap ($20) and probably the best thing to practice on.

I have had my DR since about February and still works perfectly. I love building on it. It's actually fun. I have been using it pretty much exclusively lately since I got the mohawk coils.i have heard the Drop is better though.

I love my drop dead more than my drop.
I would actually recommend the nudge 22 over the regular nudge.
The 22 is a single coil and easy to wick and build, with a compressed deck for good flavor.
They seemed underrated overall so you may be able to find one cheap. If it helps I can tell you I have three 22 and only one regular.
Good luck.

I only recommended it with a squonk because it has squirrel urinals as juice wells. As a pure dripper you'd need to drip really often. But I get what you're doing, you're driving him to buy that squonk mod, are ya? :D

I would disagree on one point. For a first rda as a dripper and not squonking the recurve has no well. I just worry with that as a first rda some folks will get discouraged having to drip alot.

well, i mean, if i have to drip a lot then its part of owning an RDA still if you dont have a squonk, right?

Well my DR RTA landed in SS. Swapped the slotted head screws out for the hex before even giving it a bath. Building was easy peasy. No idea why the hell they ever thought to use those slotted screws. Still need to remember to leave my tails long enough to reach the juice wells, but otherwise headache free. Put the black in place of the white DT on it for a little more matchy matchy.

Not quite. There's RDAs that lean more towards dripping and RDAs that lean more towards squonking. Like I said earlier there's RDAs with a juice well as big as some tank atomizers, you can easily vape at least 10 minutes on that before dripping again (and with drip I mean dump your liquid in there). The Recurve to me is the archetype of a squonk RDA, very small juice wells, the size of the points of your wick. You'll drip every few drags and have to be careful to not overdrip.
I try to buy different colors but I almost always end up going with black

Looks like my collection. I try to buy different colors but I almost always end up going with black.
idk why but i always go for black mods and black tanks..... i guess it matches my clothes so i subconsciously buy all black, if i get a Drop Dead im getting it in purple and then when i get my squonk mod im going to try to find purple as well. i know the Pulse X and the 80W have purple replacement plates available

Mine should be here tomorrow. I always kept the slotted screws on my DRs. I'll give the hex a try. I have a screwdriver that fits the slotted perfectly so I never bothered changing them out.

Evening all,

It is raining in Cumbria. Cat No 2 just walked in and dripped [literally] over the dining room table, my coil kit and is now demanding attention [in other words stroke me and help me dry off quicker].

Pre-built coil in my Cleito is beginning to taste like a pair of mouldy socks in a heatwave. Stripped it down, and after 6 weeks of use at 50% this is what it looks like:

IMG_6851.JPG

Decided to try out the rebuildable deck with 3mm 7 turn 26 gauge twisted pair kanthal A1. 8T at 3.5mm is a bit high ohm wise, hopefully that will get the coils a bit closer to sub-ohm levels.

Daren't raise this with Mrs OG yet, my birthday is still a bit off. Was hoping to pre-empt this with a personal sneaky shiny resupply, but some money that was due to me has been delayed. Looks like I'm going to have to wait for a while :(.
