If I could, I'd press the "evil" button I wished for elsewhere on this post. Especially since I'm in the grip of deep yearning for a Dani Dicodes Mini or Dani Box 21700 and an SXMini SL Class. My replacement credit card just arrived, and, oh, what a maiden voyage it could have.

I tired to resist.,. I did.. Gave it my best shot but once again, I am a failure!

I also have a DoggyStyle 2k18 on the way... Not sure what I'll top the Dani Mini with but it will either be the Doggy or the SQuape E(c)...

My Wotofo Serpent Elevate came yesterday so I might build that sucker up later and plop it on the Paranormal 250c...

Exactly how I feel about clones!
Not for the BB. Some things can be exactly cloned and some can't. I'm sad for the guys, but the SXK clone with the USB beats the original hands down every time. I don't mind paying extra for something well made, but I think it's time to move some major manufacturing to China, where you can get the same quality at a much lesser price. You can't compare it to a handbag, but I compare it to some of my old tools. Some chinese things nowadays are equal to japanese or german tools of yore.

I can translate that to hunting/fishing/ shop tools if you’d like... To be clear, clones in vape gear tend to aim to being 1:1. Fakes of designer goods are usually made of vastly inferior materials (vinyl vs leather, gold plate vs gold, painted plastic vs brass) to give the APPEARANCE of being real. They’re not meant to last more than a season at best. On the converse, I have a Jackie Gucci bag that looks as fab as it did in the 70’s when I got it. And, I could probably recoup or make $ if I sold it.

Edit: @chanelvaps beat me to it. And, yes... I am a Princess. Himself will vouch for that ;)
Don't you dare sell it... My mom had a canvas&leather, I lost it when I moved... I hate myself.

I always buy authentic to support the creator but I do not have an issue buying cloned replacement parts and spare tanks after I've sprung the doh for the original...

Some prices are insane.. $10 for a replacement polly tank? Good grief I can get 20 of em from a clone China joint for $4.99....

Now if the cloners would send the OG creator a portion of their profits, I might reconsider purchasing but as long as they don't, I'll keep on buying authentic....

But yes, some clones are just as good and maybe even better....

BB aside, I own exactly one clone RDA (also own the authentic) and have one clone mod on the way.

I support creators as much as possible, and buy authentic 99% of the time. But there's a difference between supporting a creator and allowing yourself to be gouged - especially when supply is being very much manipulated to keep prices up.

Even then, we're not really talking about the same kind of thing here. In an SXK Billet Box you get an authentic DNA60 chip and can use authentic bridges.

Welp, my chief complaint about the Slam Piece and Stack Piece was the 30mm diameter. Now we have the Slim Piece at 26mm tapering to 25mm at the 510. When they do the inevitable murdered out cerakote version, I'll have no excuses left.
I'll say it again... Doesn't beat this....

I don't own any cloned mods or RTA's but I do haz some cloned parts....

If nobody buys the authentic then why would they keep making it and / or refining it?> If they don't keep making it and refining then what will be left for China to clone>?

I am not hating on China.. There are some very good Chinese vape companies. I have Lost Vape mods and they are fantastic...

I guess I am just not a big fan of stealing the intellectual property of others. If someone wants to clone, buy a license or whatever to do so and haz at it....

I just think it's always best to buy from the creator...

I won't lie. I looked to buy one. Exactly my aesthetic of preference.
I don't like mechs, but if I ever spend that kind of money it would be on that.... The switch, the size, the finish, everything. And I consider most spanish modders overpriced and overaprecciated. But that is my kind of mod. With an RDTA on top...

It's easy to say that but let's look specifically at the BB.

They don't want people to buy it either, at least not the people willing to pay the price. For years it was a mini game of refreshing every 2 seconds so you could put one in your cart. There are guides out there on how to prefill your shipping information so you can by it in the 15 second window before it sells out. If they didn't want it cloned, they would have made more.

Refining and improving it? They use DNA60 chips with a single 18650 in their newest version. The form hasn't changed in half a decade. Without 3rd party bridges, it uses the nautilus and subtank coils that have been out for seemingly forever.

They aren't offering supply so people can buy it and they aren't innovating.

I'm not talking about clones in general. As I mentioned almost everything I own is authentic. I'm talking about the billetbox in particular which is a special case. The clone comes with the same DNA60 chip and you're buying 3rd party bridges anyways.

BB is a small operation.. DD's (@Doug Dino) little fingers can only move so fast...

Getting a BB was never hard and I've never failed trying to score..

Cloners do not innovate, they copy.... If all the innovators are gone because they can't make a buck then again, what will be left for the copiers to clone?

If you buy clones, have at it... No hate from me I just don't for my reasons I've already discussed...

DD's little fingers have half a decade worth of selling $300 billet boxes at will. If DD wanted DD could have put that money into new machinery to get more of them out. DD isn't using a pair of scissors and school glue to put these things together. DD can use a CNC to get them created at a button press, or hire a guy at $10/hour to do it for him.

DD has more than enough money to innovate. If DD wanted, DD could put in a DNA75C and 20700/21700 support, charge $800 a box, and they would instantly sell out.

Generally, from what i've seen, people buying clones are not the people that would be paying full RRP for high end either. A guy who buys a $7 cloned RDA on fasttech wouldn't be spending $150 on the authentic even if the clone didn't exist.

THAT is not an investment. More than the SX mini SL I'd go for the Mirage. Cheaper.

I was attracted the SX Mini SL because I was looking at mods with Yihi chips. Is there something wrong with it? I just started my research and have yet to read through what's been said about it here. Maybe I should switch my sights elsewhere (where?).

The Mirage looks nice, though. I may have to add it to the "covet" pile.

No, nothing wrong. I just think it's a little unstylish compared to the Mirage. And the threads are a little crunchy for a 150 buck mod.
