I was attracted the SX Mini SL because I was looking at mods with Yihi chips. Is there something wrong with it? I just started my research and have yet to read through what's been said about it here. Maybe I should switch my sights elsewhere (where?).

The Mirage looks nice, though. I may have to add it to the "covet" pile.
I've got both the SL Class and the Mirage. I like them both, but the Mirage kind of feels like a toy compared to the SL Class.

If you want a YiHi chip, get the SL. If you want a dna, go for the Mirage.

Both of them are nice mods. But since they are in the same price range, I prefer the YiHi. Just seems like a better built device if you like both chips.

Believe me, I'm a factory technician (industrial engineer). It's not hard to up your production, but they wanted a boutique product, not a mainstream one. Choices.

I'll move on as I am not interested in bashing DD... I doubt he purposely limited stock but even if he did then so be it... Even back when they sold out in seconds, I never once didn't score one when I was after it.. Over the years I've purchased about 10 BB's direct from BB....

In my book, DD ROCKS! :)

No, nothing wrong. I just think it's a little unstylish compared to the Mirage. And the threads are a little crunchy for a 150 buck mod.

I heard about those threads. I like its odd looks, though, and while looks are not reason enough to sway me, they do factor in.

For DL sub ohm'ers that's about the right level.. For MTL / tootle puffers it won't be...

Thanks, didn't even think of that... changed my order to 35mg salts nic so will see how that is, didn't have all the flavours I wanted with that amount but got 4 to try. :) Price sure went up tho... salts nic must be expencive

Oh yeah, if you're looking for stabwood SL Class, check out these ones on Varitube. Same retail price as the YiHi stabwoods, but these look much nicer.

USA Version SL Class

I've got a 'factory' green stabwood SL class, wish I had picked one of these up instead.

I love the look of stabwood, but I can't justify the extra bucks for aesthetics alone.

I think it was Eighvape that had a sale on the stabwood version a few months back. If I recall, they were around $145. I probably wouldn't have gotten it otherwise. The Varitube versions look SO nice though.

I've got the coffee and grey ones as well (non stabwood). They actually feel/look a little better than the factory stabwood one I received.

My main complaint with the Mirage, is that LV kind of 'ruined' how nice the DNA 75C screen looks with the curved, cheap plastic cover. I understand they did it to keep the curve of the mod, but it detracts from an otherwise sexy mod. Mine are the black swirled ones. I still like them, but they do feel like a toy compared to the SL Class.

So keep that in mind too, the SL Class feels a good bit heavier than the Mirage if that is important to you. The threads are a bit gritty on the SL Class, but it's nothing that will go bad on you. I'm not sure of the long term durability of the battery door on the Mirage. No problems with mine yet. As mentioned, the Mirage is getting harder to find, believe it's out of production.

Both of them are nice, especially with a Samsung 40T in them. All day power for me in a relatively small package.

Okay, lovers of things shiny, I have a request for you. In the "are you done stocking up" thread, @NolaMel got me thinking about the wisdom of getting mods with different chips. What mods with Yihi or Gene chips would you recommend? I'm a low-wattage vaper (so far, I've not gone higher than 15W), and a single battery will do for me. Ideally, I'd like to spend less than $100 but will undoubtedly be able to talk myself into going higher if I catch myself in the right mood.

Saw your reply just after I posted this, @score69. The SX Mini is sounding better and better.

Breezy has the original Drag for $34.99 right now if you don't mind the older version with the squared edges. I have several put away in the vape closet.

I was disappointed VooPoo didn't put resin on both sides of the Drag 2. The new IJOY Shogun UNIV (saw in this thread a few days ago), looks like the Drag 2 but with resin on both sides. Not a Gene chip, but sounds like it's solid. These are now available at MVS for $42.99. That's inexpensive compared to the cost of the Drag 2. They currently only have the reg/green resin in stock though. I'll be getting one when the other colors come available.

I don't have any recommendation for chip'd mods but have you considered a mech mod, or two?

They are dead simple, have very little that can go wrong and some would probably last through a nuclear war.. We wouldn't but the mod might still be standing....

If you are worried about vaping gear getting the ax and want to make sure you have gear that will last forever +1 day, I'd recommend a mech...

Sorry not what you asked but my .02 nonetheless... :D

The SL is better quality material imo.
I wouldn't want to drop either mod, but I'm betting the SL Class will fare much better than the Mirage in that situation. SL Class would likely just suffer some cosmetic issues. The Mirage resin around the mod isn't very thick, and the battery door might be a problem in this situation as well.

The SL Class feels like a tank in comparison.

I’m not up on my Yihi classifications, the Sl and G class do fetch a higher price. Yihi does make lower end chipsets but there is always a compromise. The Gene chip is exclusive to Voopoo….it’s adequate but nothing great.

If looking for TC, shoot for a DNA. If just regular old wattage, there are many that can fit this need very well. Vaporesso Armour is a good example.

:) I always keep a 27 speedy bandoulier in damier ebene. It's my rainy day purse, so that I don't ruin my other bags. One day I got fed up buying a new bag every season, as well as wallet. I always keep two or three LV canvas items, serious return of money. My best investment was a Dior Promenade... Good bags are like good men, they last a lifetime. And back 5 years ago I wasn't so destitute as I'm now.
My other fetish, carried from my mom are Hermes scarves.
My always day to day is a Speedy Bandouliere 35 but in monogram. My coveted one that rarely leaves the closet is an LV Watercolor Speedy 35 (Runway 2008) in brown. Paid $1,500 ish and I could easily get double that now. I also love and regularly carry a full size Noe in Monogram.

DD's little fingers have half a decade worth of selling $300 billet boxes at will. If DD wanted DD could have put that money into new machinery to get more of them out. DD isn't using a pair of scissors and school glue to put these things together. DD can use a CNC to get them created at a button press, or hire a guy at $10/hour to do it for him.

DD has more than enough money to innovate. If DD wanted, DD could put in a DNA75C and 20700/21700 support, charge $800 a box, and they would instantly sell out.

Generally, from what i've seen, people buying clones are not the people that would be paying full RRP for high end either. A guy who buys a $7 cloned RDA on fasttech wouldn't be spending $150 on the authentic even if the clone didn't exist.
very well said
