I did a lot of research a little over a year ago when I got into DIY and Nic River had the best starter kit by far of any that I could find.
i did not go starter kit(not sure if they had them back then)just need a scale and be cheap like me,and have saved your old bottles.a gallon of vg,pg a liter of 100 mg nic, along with maybe 10 flavors.now that i type this ,maybe a starter kit is needed.:?:

I am thinking about getting into DIY. I was looking at the DIY kit at Nicotine River, and they have a couple of options when it comes to choosing flavor manufacturers. Is one considered better than the other, or are they pretty much the same across the board?
Skeebo, when I got into DIY I did it by finding a few tried and true recipes I liked and then just buying the ingredients for that. One that always came out good for me at first was Pistachio RY4 and it is minimal ingredients. I built my flavor stash as I went by buying what I needed for each recipe. I never bought a kit. I eventually came to own everything that is in the kits and you will too but I do not think it is the best way to start. I use the syringe method because I did not want to buy a lot of stuff to start with, not sure I was going to keep at it. I still use the syringe method 5 years later.

If I were you I would avoid the kits as you pay through the nose for stuff you don't really need...

    1. Scales
    2. Bottles for mixing.
    3. PG
    4. VG (about 10 times as much as PG if you mix 70/30 0r above).
    5. Flavourings.
    6. Litre of nic...the stronger the least room it takes up in the freezer.
IMO you then need to find some recipes that you like the look of and then buy the flavours for them....don't, I repeat don't just buy a heap of flavours coz you'll end up with stuff you never use. Nearly all flavouring comes suspended in PG so invariable you don't actually need to add any further plain PG to a recipe.

I hope that makes sense and helps you make the desicion. Go for it!! You won't regret it :)

Happy Monday shiners! Cab't wait to see how the beginning of the week starts out. So far so good, but I've only been awake for 30 minutes. I did get an email that Innokin will be sending out those Z Biip giveaway prizes the beginning of May, which had me a little bummed until I realized it was already April 29th.

Whoops! I accidentally bought a Purge Ultem and stabwood squonker. I'm thinking a new SS Axial RDA and an Ultem cap to go with it might make a nice combo.

Today is going to be full of adventure.

Got a message from the dude i'm trading plugs with. He's ready to send out today. Super happy about that.

My Haku Venna journey has also come to an end. Send out payment for a Haku Venna TI Black this morning. That, along with the Haku Venna TI Gold, Nevernormalz Nebula cap, Nevernormalz Clear cap, SXK ultem cap and this trip has cost over $500. I think i'm going to be good with RDAs for a while.

Hi there shiners....what are we all doing this fine and sunny Monday? :)

    Happy Monday everyone....

I've mysteriously lost my voice-- do you guys think I should make one of those "Vaping is causing me to grow a third arm" threads about it? Maybe this is some kind of allergy to drip tips or something?

I am taking the week off. I need to do oil changes and preventive maintenance on the cars and various other honey to do lists. Call the A/C people and make an appointment for our yearly service, it's going to be in the 90's here this week.

Thanks everyone for the DIY tips. I am still looking through all the great recipes!

There's some weird germs going around last few years...bizarre.

It's started to warm up here (South of France) too but not that hot yet....we don't have AC...my wife hates it when its too hot.

Hope you get into the DIY...you won't regret it and good luck with the motors :)

I'm just the opposite, started with syringes and tired of it quickly. Bought a scale and little to no clean up plus mixing is much faster. Spent less on the scale than my start up supplies.

I used the drops method for years. Recently got the 501 scale and I am getting used to it. I remember buying those kits and it is cheaper to buy just what you need/want to use. The scale is cheap and I am starting to like it a lot, easier than counting drops.

I did get an email that Innokin will be sending out those Z Biip giveaway prizes the beginning of May, which had me a little bummed until I realized it was already April 29th.

I'm a little confused what to do about that win.

Apparently I jumped the gun and messaged @Innokin_Paul on forum with my pertinent information - that's what I did with the last Innokin win and everything was exchanged via forum.

But apparently they are talking to every one else via email.

He messaged me saying Rosa or someone would be in contact me via email and that never happened...

Then he messaged me on forum asking me what color i wanted, and before i answered he said oh nevermind Rosa (or someone) has me down as requesting white.

Well I never requested a color because no one ever contacted me asking me, so I messaged him back and told him this so then he asked me what color i wanted so I told him and he said okay no problem all fixed..

But no one has asked me for the 3 dollars and no one has messaged me saying they will soon be shipped..

So keep me informed, if you get yours and I don't have mine yet perhaps I should message Paul again..for now I'm figuring if they want anything they will contact me.

I'm not worried I guess, or not complaining anyway.. I just feel uneasy not really knowing if I'm doing the right thing..
