Shiny's! Not only is the week flying by, but two months of 2020 are gone already. Time does go by faster, not only when you're having fun, but unfortunately also as we get older. I must be ancient, because time is flying by at light speed for me.

Ill offer an alternative theory.
Is the darker side typically on the bottom when you take a vape?
juice that didnt vaporize sometimes burns slightly and would run down via gravity.
So in theory the wick on the bottom would be darker.

This could be caused by wattage, airflow etc. .. maybe the coil doesnt have enough power to vaporize all the juice. Maybe it is cooling too slowly and burning a small amount.

Maybe im just batcrap crazy.....

Going out on a limb and voting for the batcrap crazy thing...

I like to check ramp up times on Steam Engine but are a bit stumped with claptons. Want to try Ni80 in my mechs. I'm using flat Kanthal atm mostly because of the faster ramp up time. I found these lying around and hoping they have a decent ramp up...?View attachment 871779

Before I fit them. I want try them in single and dual configuration.
Are they decent ramp uppers...?

Not sure if this has been answered yet Fred but Ni80 has the fastest ramp up time of the common wires. Definitely faster than equivalent KA1

Any theories out there would be appreciated.
My only theory is because the cotton is trimmed, one side wicks more than the other

You always tipping the mod the same way? i.e. the darker side gets more juice or more heat from the coil?

Happened to me on this thread awhile back. I didn't give a damn but another poster got aggravated and made a fuss about it. It devolved into a mess. All over something as trivial as an x. In my mind it is just giving the person giving the x's the very attention they are seeking.

Buddy, it's an internet X. Just laugh it off . Imagine, whatever, was SO wrong or distasteful, instead of moving along they stopped and made a mark.

@Fredman1 I screwed up with a typo - your ribbon layers should be 0.3mm x 0.1mm.

Regarding the wicking being uneven - For me it's always one side wicking better than the other, thanks to my wick tails being uneven. If I slightly thin or trim the darker side, it fixes it.
