At the beginning of the season here, I almost bought an electric mower. I already have a great Stihl weed eater. I decided I was going to do my own lawn maintenance again. It has only been about 5 years since I was maintaining close to an acre yard and a pool (I hired out my yardwork in CA during those five years) So I find one I like and put it in a cart at the local Power Sport place where I know I can go for maintenance. Do not pull the trigger just yet. In the next few days I decide to weed eat my backyard along my new fence. Only I cannot start the weed eater. I convince myself that it is only because it has not been started during the winter so I take it to the same Power Sport guy, he starts it pretty quick but agrees with me the winter rest might be the reason I could not start it. I get home, am able to start it again and weed eat my back yard. When I am done, I am exhausted and hot and I promptly come inside and take the darn lawnmower out of the cart and hire a lawn guy. Today is his second time here because I only want bi-weekly but I am inside happily watching someone else do my chores. Not sorry.

You’ll notice I hired the first person who'd even give me a quote! Mowing the open areas I can do. Not sorry I bought that rider. The trim was the killer. Dang, all that fence! Nope.

I tend to get obsessed with one hobby, then another, but if I outgrew one of them, I’d probably just sell the stuff. I haven’t gotten much use from the camera, Mom last year and now the virus, but I’ll get to it someday.

Anyway... I think the sewing machine would be a lot more fun for you than yard work!

so no claptons, aliens etc fuer dich? what's your usual size with flat ni80? (i ask because as i understand it one of the issues is being able to handle them)

No Clapton wire for me Virmy, just the funky flatwire;)
My usual size is 0.2mm*0.8mm and that comes out to 0.5 ohms with 6 wraps.
I also use some which is 0.2mm*1mm every now and then that comes out to about 0.3 ohms with 6 wraps.
The second option may suit the Worm a bit better:pervy:
And yes it's a :censored: to wrap a coil until you get the hang of it!!

thanks. yes, the push for these questions was the recommendation that axial be hooked with chunkies because it's sort big enough for dual which i won't do..

otherwise it's curiousity and desire to experiment_ i got my quadcore spool ni80 from wotofo which @AngeNZ chose for me which i just love and a multi set of coilology aside from the stuff that came with tanks

    so yeah_ it's just shinyitis!!:blush::blush:
I have a couple built with flat wire at .23 and one with hex core at .16. I prefer the hex. I am going to rebuild it with octo core when it arrives. I think I will like the octo better. Thinner core and wrap wires. I like the Axial with beefier builds.

I know it would be but I have this thing, you can probably relate, that I CAN accomplish all I need to do to care for myself and my property. Hiring out is almost admitting defeat to me. I come from a very hard working mom that pushed herself (and her kids) to work hard always

I’ve only owned my own home almost 7 years now. I gave up on push mowing my 1/2 acre after the first summer. I can’t get it done!

I like Ni80 Aliens or tri core fused claptons in my Axials. Single coil 3mm or 3.5 mm.
Great flavour and the ramp up time of Ni80 is quick
Yet another reason why I probably should be unstaunching myself and look into Ni80 :D

No doubt in my mind, you can do it. Technically, I can too, it’s just been getting harder as my shoulder gets worse. And... I think we’ve earned not having to knock ourselves out. Some chores I feel very accomplished, having succeeded. But I don’t feel like slaving to this house anymore. I want to do all the stuff I was too busy working hard to get to for the last 35 years.

Mines a bit smaller, and no, I won’t push mow the whole thing - my push mower is battery though, would never make it. Took me a couple years to find a small enough rider I could get in the gate. When the neighbors whined, I told them not to worry, I’d applied for a special permit to have ponies. That shut ‘em up quick!
