SWAG stands for Stuff We All Get, typically when attending an expo or trade show. You get SWAG when people at booths hand out free stuff like pens, prizes, etc.
In Australia we have a long tradition of Swagmen. They were blokes in the old times who lived day to day, earned a living doing odd jobs from town to town and carried their worldly posessions in a swag on their shoulder or tied to the end of a stick. Some were treated a crooks - maybe they were? The famous Banjo Patterson poem/song Waltzing Matilda immortalizes the Jolly Swagman.
Waltzing Matilda - Wikipedia

These days a swag is a type of canvas bed roll that you see young country people carry in the back of their utes. Some have mosquito nets attached but all have a mattress and are for sleeping under the stars (or on a friend's floor) in comfort. It's not gender specific - plenty of young women own swags . A good quality swag can last a lifetime.

Good morning shiners! My almost lost juice order got back on the truck after taking too long in the restroom. It's in NY so maybe today or tomorrow. Last juice order supposedly forever will be here Friday.

Oh, I needed some shoe laces and got them from Amazon. Even with Prime it won't be here until May 28. Maybe Amazon is filling orders from Shanghai which would explain a 2 week wait on 2 pairs of shoelaces,

And the early CDC hard drives in racks (~140 lbs give/take) with single disc packs and then multi-platter packs. Loved aligning heads on those with my trusty Tektronix oscilloscope.

And back when planes weren't so dang crowded. If they were overbooked you could get a check from the airlines and a seat on the next flight. Boss let me keep those checks. :D

A screeching sound from a CDC pack meant that you would spend the day there replacing heads and aligning the drive, (usually meant tossing the pack).

Morning all! I didn’t sleep well last night (no apparent reason) so I woke up really late.

Finally delivered masks to my local family, taking the scenic route because there’s so much road construction and also RR crossings closed for work. Can’t complain about that, perfect time to do it. It was 4x as long a drive though lol.

Ironically I got the source more masks in the mail yesterday.

How much data would one of those 10" spools of mag tape hold?

@AvaOrchid saw your post asking about a lemonade. I hadn't heard of it but thought you might like to try this one by kindground if you haven't already.

Bill D. Lemonade all %
FE lemon 2
FA lemon Sicily 1
VT sour lemon 2
Sweeten to taste. I like it without sweetener; if you want a "softer" lemonade try adding a bit of lychee.
Thx!

Just checking in.
Won't be around for a little bit. I ignored my diabetes for too long and it's come home to roost.

Now, don't go saying "sorry to hear that" or whatever. What I'm dealing with is my own damn fault so it is what it is.

Nerve pain is keeping me from doing what I want. It's insane and my tolerance for...well anything...has gone down. I'm evenore ant-social if that's possible.

I'm taking care, wonderful wife has got a diet of healthier stuff going so I will be fine. Once these new meds kick in for pain I'll be right as rain and will be back.

So have fun. Remember buy more and post it.

Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Finally, out of Origin Post Preparing. Another Precisio (& doggy for stash) arriving. USPS tracking now shows delivery for tomorrow. Ordered mid Feb, and OOS until April. But I guess with the logjam of finding room on flights to US, a month after shipping isn't bad at all. In fact, my avg. FT orders take about 3 weeks.

Every MTL'er should have at least one of these rta's:

I can't remember, BUT I do remember paying ~30 Thousand dollars for an HP 404 Mb (yeah megabytes) drive, that was the size of a dishwasher  and depending on what was running it could vibrate like an out of balance washing machine :D

I remember back in the early 70's if your program was running and wouldn't finish you would go down to the computer room. If the disk drive was thrashing around continuously it meant your read/write commands were in a loop. First computer I worked on was the biggest mainframe around, with a dual processor. It had 128K of memory.

To any I might have offended

I am sorry if something I said angered you. It was never my intention. To say I would have done it on purpose baffles me. The whole thing baffles me. I do not get the hate (on either side) I think we should all be entitled to like who we like. Nevertheless, if I offended anyone on here, please know it was never my intention. I am a firm believer in live and let live but I also hate the thought that I might have hurt or angered anyone. An apology is always an easy thing for me, I hope you know I am sincere.
