Sorry you've had a crappy day but I think you can circumvent that rule by using PayPal. Also after you've paid a few times on some websites they stop sending the redirect for the code sort of because they trust you after a couple of checks. You can choose to have the code sent by email....just my thoughts, trying to help
You don't need a smartphone. An email address will do....the bank has to know it though
The bank thing doesn't work,already tried with the full IBAN code,SWIFT code etc etc and no dice.
Bank still has to approve the purchase regarding the method of payment,be it credit or debit card or directly from the bank account.
The paypal thing is doable thou,but i need to buy amazon gift cards...or see if in Spain we can get a Paypal debit credit card.
In that case i would just have to transfer the money from my bank account to Paypal debit card THEN pay in Amazon...now that i think of it that Directive might also apply to that paypal card so yeah i am royally screwed.
Also just remembered that now i gotta pay the electric in person,can't use the credit card anymore either...
In summer it's under 50 euros but in winter the bill goes up,so that is one more thing to worry about.

I finally got all the shopping done for the week,3 different supermarkets (to save money,different offers you know),pharmacy trip to get the meds for my pops,vape shop and finally got home.
Now i got the rest of the day (well apart from whatever his highness requires,by highness i mean my pops lol) to just chill and maybe binge watch a tv series.
Thinking of starting Seaquest again,i love that series

With PayPal you just need to put your card details/number in after creating your account and job done.
Give it a try. And as long as you can receive text messages on your phone you are fine....you just need to register your email and mobile number with your bank.

I didn't get a smartphone until last August. IIRC you have some old Nokia's? My last cell phone was an old Nokia and there wasn't anything smart about it.
I was anti smartphone for years. The wife said "we need them", I was like "why", she would say "we're so far behind everyone" and I said "so freakin' what, who cares". Last August I bought an iPhone and after 5 months I would never go back. It is very nice having a computer in the pocket. I don't like posting here with it cause I am so used to a real computer keyboard and large monitor.

And then i tried the bank options,you know adding the bank account for payment and yeah didn't work either.
All 3 of those options require a smartphone so you can give permission to make the payment.
Earlier today i looked into the Paypal card and yeah it is not available in Spain,i do have a paypal account thou but the card which i could use in Amazon is not available in Spain.
So if i ever shop for something over 50 euros (below that i just get a code thru SMS to allow the transaction) i would need to get some amazon gift cards...that if it's Amazon but if it's another vendor i have to pray they take paypal as form of payment or else I am really screwed if i try to buy something over 50 euros.
Not really that much of a big deal,local tobacco shop has a ton of those Amazon gift cards,I'm just ...... that they are forcing me to own a smartphone so i can buy something online.

Think i said it before but while i was on holidays in Shanghai i saw it and liked it so much i actually bought a box,this was like 10 years ago or more,can't remember the exact date.
Still have more than half a box of these suckers,probably going to be buried with them when i die
I don't know maybe if i went out more,but i have no social media footprint,i am a ghost and i like it that way.
No Gram',no facebook,no twitter,no whatssapp and for gaming i use my pc...same for music,movies and tv series.
Current girlfriend made the mistake of buying me a smartphone this Christmas...yeah she had to return it.
I think she is mad she can't spam me with whatssapp about her feelings and needs 24/7...i for one thank god i don't own a smartphone

Here is my really old Nokia. Still works fine. It's now the backup for my iPhone.
I don't actively participate on any of the social media sites. Only use them for getting info here and there. ECF and a few other forums are my "social".
