I spent my boyhood summers climbing trees to catch cicadas. Green Grocers, Black Princes, Cherry Noses, Floury Bakers etc.
We knew all the best trees in the neighborhood and which houses had savage dogs (worth running the gauntlet if we heard the distinctive sound of a Double Drummer from over the fence).

They were even a type of currency at school - no boy that brought a Tiger Eye out of his pocket in the playground would ever have to buy his own Wagon Wheel or Paddle Pop.

One favourite trick was seeing how many cicada shells we could stick to the back of teacher's shirt before getting caught and the inevitable caning. Wild little Aussie Tom Sawyers.

Very occasionally there'd be a 'dry' year - that would be the worst. Silence in the hot summer air and hopeless long days knowing we had to wait a whole year for the next season to kick off.
That's interesting. However, I'm still pretty sure cicadas come from the bowels of Hell. But to each their own.

Just discovered a shop selling a VA Cyclone and '350 Phenom mech for less than $7 a piece. I couldn't not buy them.
If you're sitting there thinking, I wonder what this guy is like - this guy is the kind of person to think he's buying a mech for $7 only to open his envelope and discover what he actually bought was a very small stainless steel tube without a switch or cap. :D

I've whipped out something daft to distract me from the overpowering sense of my own stupidity.

    Morning shinies ;)

    Hiya folks!!

Been busy this week, not much time to do anything besides the usual taking care of my pops and stuff.

Just finished a review for the Univapo Miso in case anyone wants to give it a quick read:

    Univapo Miso Pod Kit Review

Should have done it sooner but i was prepping up the tablet for my pops.
Already packed with movies and music and i just finished a 3 hour session of ''tablet for dummies 101''
    I am mentally exhausted :lol::lol:

Keep in mind i haven't used a tablet/smartphone type of device in years, think the last device of that sort that i used was an Ipod Touch :D:D

So i myself had to go thru the basics on how the tablet worked, like Roger Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon movies: "I'm too old for this ...."

Shinyitis wise i just saw a mod that i really liked, something about the shape and the materials:

    Just looks AWESOME!!
    Anyone using one of these?

If you don't wanna go down the squonking rabbit hole, a side-by-side is just as good. I love those colours too

Code MAP brings it down to $52:

This should be the basis of a children's book.

Between @Daniel Forsyth and his ''green'' colored mod bragging and you giving me links as a way to entice me i can barely make it thru the day :D:D

But yeah that mod sure is a looker, trying to conjure a mental image to see what RTA would pair better with the aforementioned mod.

And yes it was time for a Dawson is crying gif and YES i have watched all 6 seasons.
Season 1 and Season? meh...season 3 Joey and Pacey together just made sense, since then i was hooked.
And not ashamed to say it...i did watch Dawson's Creek.

P.S:There i came clean,I'm out and proud (not closet wise, just when it comes to Dawson's Creek).

Um.. there was 6 seasons of Dawson's Creek, not 5.

Not that I ever watched it or anything.

I mean, it's not like I found it on Netflix a few years ago and binge watched it.

Oh hell, who am I kidding?

@Cloud-FF7 congrats brother. That's a nice prize. I was also going to do another photoshoot, but it was under the roof this time, glass roof. I drank about 6liters of water that day. I just thought there are people worse off than this. I at least had water to cool me down. I just took one pic

I mean think about it,i get paid for doing some translating and instead of getting me some nice shinnies for my vaping needs i get my pops a tablet.
Then i win a giveaway for a really nice mod,i mean yeah it has to be karma,no other explanation :D:D

Oh dang, can't imagine...i mean working non stop on a sunny day under that reflective empowering surface, ouch.

But to make up for it i gotta say that looks like some grade A craftsmanship right there :thumb:

Why do I get the feeling you both have one of these?

    View attachment 927857

Hey now you better not be dissin my beloved Hallmark movies.
Yes the rom-coms,they are predictable...they are corny and cheesy but sometimes you just want a feel good movie you can watch.

I mean don't get me wrong i enjoy John Wick doing head shots to the Russian mobsters or even a nice oldie but goodie flick like for example Donovan's Reef with John Wayne,it all depends on the day and your current mood.

So yeah i watched and will continue watching Hallmark rom-coms,we all need some cheesiness in our lives don't we?
