Agreed.....I've just been reading about him. He was even buried made up as Dracula and spent his whole career as Dracula too. In some ways he was Dracula :)

    Morning shinies ;)

My Dvarw army is one mixxed up bunch of hooligans :sneaky:

Ange I'd love to see how the season changes down there from a fixed spot. Photo every week or whatever at sunup kind of thing. Those amazing mountains in the background as they start to get snow. Frost on the fence etc. Any chance?? pleeeease.

Done  I've already got my favourite photo spots on the farm, so you will see plenty more of them.

Also going to try some night photography. The Milky way is visible here until Oct, and Aurora Australis can be seen some nights. With all this wide open sky, and no street lights - this location is perfect. Just need a tripod and plenty of practice

What I see in you folks is, given the opportunity, you will be the best version of you. Just because you can. That’s the most honest kind of good.

We know one another on a different level.

    anyway. I love you all.

You said how I feel, perfectly

My wardrobe is more suited to grunge, but I’ll find a way to rally. My hair can totally do hair band hair.

Not saying we (as in the Dvarw Army) don't trust you but just in case so you get an idea of what we looking for, this is something to guide your hairstyling ways:

    GOOD.jpg

But...if you end up like this:

    BAD.jpg

    You're out...just sayin'

Here's my first attempt....lot of light pollution so difficult but your location should be perfect...

What makes you sooooo sure they taught us to read in Alabama
    Cuz... you replied. :D

vape shopping feels like packing for a trip to the moon.
NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville can help with that. I hear they're really good with packing for moon trips. ;)

Isn't that the truth though, of all of us. We are merely strangers helping strangers and know almost nothing about each others background, lifestyles, choices etc. yet we meet her almost daily to see what is up with each other, check in, cheer on and worry about each other, we run to the post office to help each other out and lose sleep when one of us is missing, yet we know next to nothing about each other. The forum is a strange thing and I have found a few that I can turn to even when I cannot turn to a BFF, a sister or a daughter.
But... I do think we know each other, to varying degrees, and I don't think we are strangers. Some have shared quite a bit of themselves here and in other threads. If you were to ask me, I would say that's awesome. And from my perspective we do care about each other, that's love. And isn't love the greatest gift we have to offer each other?

I know for me it's a kind of family. A family of strangers like you say. Strange and sometimes dislocated but it's a family of choice, not one that's forced on us. Maybe the anonymity makes it easier to be honest and share without fear. Stuff that we all have in common.
I'm glad you guys exist even if you don't.
We are a family. We share, laugh, get ticked at times, make up and move on. All families have dislocated members, and that's ok, healthy too. We deal with it. Fear, hmmm, it is my understanding that our fears were created mostly as youngsters and we've carried that baggage into adulthood. What is there to fear? Not a thing in my open book. We are each who we are. Simple.

Yes completely agree...heck you gave me support when I needed it most and I've done the same for a few others.... we're all equal here....it's full of good people whatever their pursuasion
Agree. Although your imaginings do have me worried. j/k :D But yes, all are equal here and all are wonderful people. People I am happy to call Shiny Fam and Friends.

With anonymity all the stuff that might prejudice us is stripped away. IRL we all make assumptions based on our first glance at a person. We might judge them to be mean or stupid just by what they wear. Or conversely, that they are good and decent because they’re well dressed.

and it is easier to be a keyboard warrior, but it’s also easier to be a faceless Fred Rogers. If only everyone could focus on that - we do, here - imagine how that would affect us all.

What I see in you folks is, given the opportunity, you will be the best version of you. Just because you can. That’s the most honest kind of good.

We know one another on a different level.

    anyway. I love you all.
All well put Delores... the best version of each of us, in honesty and truth. Love.

Imagine by John Lennon has always been a big favorite of mine.

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be one

I see that ^^^ as possible. Intent. Will. Determination.

Like most days I had zero expectations when I opened ECF today. I do love surprises and being surprised by everyone here. Imagine my surprise and joy reading your posts. Thank you! You made my Day more Complete. :)

We're all just Us, and doing many of the same things in Life. Differences...are like shades of colors, they're all beautiful in my book. As is our whole Shiny Fam.

ETA: And our Entire ECF Fam!!!

I have loads of stuff and I’m still anxious. So I feel for you. I feel the focus of the group shifting from shiny mail photos to withdrawal counseling.

But if there’s anything you need just let us know. If I don’t have it I bet someone does.

I suspect there will be a fair amount of stash shopping between us here in the US as we get farther into the ban. I know I have stuff that wasn’t a fit for me, doesn’t have great monetary value, but I kept thinking someone will eventually need it.

I think the biggest part of our discomfort is the lack of concrete information about what WILL happen, and a timetable. It’s a bit like skiing in the dark. Who can’t see where you’re going, so you can’t avoid possible trees and boulders, and you know there’s a cliff somewhere ahead but can’t see it before you plunge off into the abyss.

I don't know about you two... but as I shared with Pigs very late last night, I am burnt out on all this. I started stocking up in 2015 after I found out about Deeming. On one hand I am very happy to be well stocked. On the other hand it just... NVM, y'all already know where that was going. :)

Plunging off a cliff while skiing is fun. ;)

    Good afternoon EveryOne :)

I received notice that my Avail package is on its way. I figured they were pretty backed up with everyone ordering their last minute stuff. No biggie, I'm a very patient guy. It gets here when it gets here.

I hope Your day was purely Awesome!
Or, the best it could be.

Umm, Doodlebug reads it to me, thank you very much! Unfortunately, his typing is only so-so.

And no to NASA, they’re so darn picky about weight limits on luggage. The shuttle can only carry so much blah blah blah
