@charlie1465 Thank you Charlie for the banner info. The juice Im using was 12 I think and Ive cut it down to 1/3 and its not too bad, I havent been smoking 50 a day recently, more like 25 to 30. The longer Im vaping the less I am enjoying the smokes. Especially if its been a couple of days between. Im feeling positive. Thank you for the encouragement, it does help :):):)

I was using an angle grinder under a caravan once and got a rusty flake of metal in my eye. It went right around the back and the local doc was just about to send me to hospital when he managed to get it out...phew. Not a pleasant experience....I was on the slab with my eyelid inverted for half an hour!!

I had another experience about four years ago where I got metal in my eye but didn’t realize it at first. It kept me upnn no all night and went to the doctor the next morning. He couldn’t get it so sent me to a specialist who numbed my eye and pulled the particles out with a tiny pair of tweezers.

Some of the old hands here have quite a few. I wonder if @hittman counted his mods how many there would be

I counted them once and had just over 100. I stopped counting after that. Between having been vaping for twelve years and the last stock up frenzy when the FDA ban started looking like it was really going to happen, I probably started really buying most the last few years. Also doing reviews boosts the count quite a bit. I didn’t count pods, just mods and pod mods.

I started out using 32 and 24mg nic for quite a while at first. Even that wasn’t doing the trick. I started using snus also about six months in and that with vaping helped keep me level. I struggled a long time and made the mistake of guilting myself almost into depression if I slipped and had a cigarette. I think most people have a much better time making the transition to vaping. Just the last couple years I have been able to reduce my nic level in my liquids.

@DeloresRose I am sorry, I saw AngeNz at the top of your post and thought the conversation was with her. So my last message to AngeNz should have been to you... I was asking how long you have been in the Shiny group so basically how long has it taken you to get to nearly 100? Im a bit concerned you arent quoting an exact number as in you know every one of them lol. Keeping a photographic record with dates is a great idea, I think I will do that... so if I am ever close to 100 I will be able to tell the newbies exactly :)

Where am I up to. Quick summary first, I started smoking at 9 because my brother wouldnt let me in his cubby house if I didnt. His best friend was going out with my friend so I wanted in. Age 14 about 10-15 a day, 18 I was on 50 a day. I have given up previously for thirteen years, then obviously started again, did another 1 year off, started again. I bought my first vapes about 3 years ago. Had a stint with them, then they sat in the cupboard.

Recently, about a month ago I got everything out again. I still have juice in the bottom of the fridge, totally out of date I imagine but that is what I am using. Its tobacco hi nic watered down. Im using 50/50pg vg and my mod is a Pico mega that the screen doesnt work on. I also have a normal pico but prefer the mega. I have just received my first mech mod and rta tanks and bought 2 Geekvape Solos a couple of days ago. I thought I did well as everyone else seemed to be getting 3  I have coils for RTAs and wire and cotton and everything all on order. I am still having cigarettes when I go out, but mostly at home Im vaping and loving it. I just found out from finding the US restrictions that nic cant be shipped to Aus, but Im down to about 3-5% anyway and I told a friend this morning that I think I will be off the smokes by the end of the month. A lot of my stuff will have arrived and if I can get some nice flavors that I enjoy I think I will be okay. I have a big sweet tooth and having something I really enjoy vaping I think will help massively. So I need to find out where everyone gets their counters from on their profile showing the date they quit and how many smokes they didnt have. I want it ready, Im feeling very positive :)

Everyone here is amazing and helpful and encouraging. Im really glad I came back here. It was mainly for information to help me get going with rtas and things like that, but I have found it to be so much more, hence Im a Shiny... I want to do diy juices, and Im going to end up knowing a truckload about rtas and ohms and whatever else gets added to the mix, and have a lot of laughs and fun with an amazing bunch of people. I can understand why you are still here... and why you have so many mods lol. Thank you for asking about me xxx

I joined ECF in 2014, a few months after I started vaping - I was looking for advice on mixing.
So that was my first rabbit hole.

I was only in the forum a couple months when my husband got sick, so I was absent for a while - he passed away in 2015. I came back in 2017 I think.

I keep telling myself I need to do an inventory but I just can’t seem to find the time and motivation to be bothered with it. I can justify the collection as stocking up, and it is/was, but it has been a lot of fun as well. There have been so many cool things and great sales...

I wanted a little of everything- single and double battery, small ones big ones, cheap beaters and a couple really fancy ones. Squonkers and mechs. The Lunas and Colossals I had to have In every color.

I did the same with atties, but those are more hit and miss. I tried a lot of them to find what I like, and I bought a few of my favorites.

Please don’t think we are here to pressure you into some sort of competition. That’s not the point at all. But you will see a lot of fabulous gear that you may want in this thread. I look for stuff all the time, but 99% of the time I see it here first.

And you’ll start to see who’s tastes are similar to yours. It’s really helpful to be able to get advice and opinions here rather than reviews from people you don’t know.

Frenchies love other dogs as a rule. So you could have one, a pal for Maddy would be nice I think. I’ve been looking for a pal for Georgia. I know she misses Rudy still.
A friend of mine has 2 Frenchies. They are so precious. It's Maddy who would be the problem. She's been in a one dog home since she was a year old and that's the way she likes it. Not spoiled or anything, you know...:p. Plus, taking care of one dog is so much easier for me now. But I would still take yours...

Good day, Shinys...hope it's nice wherever you are....we are having a cool down to 80 today, thankfully. :)

I've had that one too....tiny shard pierced my eye....same treatment as you. You leave looking like a pirate with the patch on.....I ripped mine off straight after...but hey I was known for my stupidity when I was younger

I started at 24 with no intention of quitting - I only wanted a substitute. My MIL was in the hospital and we’d gotten her a disposable- so I got a kit so that I could use it at the hospital in the parking lot, and later, in the winter, so I didn’t have to go outside to smoke.

and a few days later I just wasn’t smoking.

I stayed smoke free through her illness and death, then my husband’s, and my brother’s as well. And a couple years later, I had been at 6mg and thought I could go to 3, and my son got into some trouble and went to jail. I really never would have thought I’d fall off the wagon but I did. Fortunately I never got worse than 3-4 smokes a day, but I still feel like a big loser after all those cancer deaths - you’d think me, of all people!

My eldest brother, a psychologist, told me this; after all that trauma it’s amazing nicotine is my drug of choice. I’m sane and sober and whatever I have to do to stay that way is forgivable.
