Thanks.

I saw that when I was looking to buy the fruit only. The marula tree wouldn't fare well around where I live.
Per the S. African agriculture, forestry and fisheries production guidelines:
"The marula tree is highly sensitive to frost and grows best in frost-free areas under warm conditions. It is adapted to dry and hot weather conditions."
I live in a climate that is the opposite of dry and hot weather conditions. We normally see our first frost around late October. Then it goes downhill from there for about 4-5 months. Much snow, freezing cold and a stretch of below zero weather.
In Africa marula harvesting is between Jan-March. Those are the coldest months here. Temps run between 30F (-1C) down to 0F (-17.7C) and colder.
I am pretty sure a marula tree would pick up it's roots and run for a warmer climate once the cold hits here.
