You can screw off the afc to expose a standard 510 pin. The afc assembly isn't needed for the positive contact - I tested it since my last post and it does open the air up some more.

That works a treat. And it stops the AFC from getting filled with juice condensation :sneaky:

Has anyone tried the Marvos rba pod yet? I got one for a review and the first attempt at a build has me getting dry hits. I am going to open it back up and take a look at the wick. I wonder if I didn’t put in enough cotton to make contact with the mesh.

    Vapemail!
My Mission XV Orbit RBA (SXK clone) arrived just now. I'll clean it, build it and take some photos later. First impression is excellent build quality.

Please do up date with it, I got 1 coming, so be interested on your thoughts on it.

I am gutted. I resolved the tax thing and it went down from hundreds of thousands to less then 10K. Not great but better. When I thought nothing worse could happen then that I was given even more dismal news.
Daphne had a dental appointment to have her teeth cleaned on Weds and during this they found a mass in her mouth. Her vet says he feels quite certain it is cancer. Of course I had them do a biopsy and will not know for certain until pathology comes back. Nothing feels right in my world now.

Saying prayers the biopsy comes back negative

Vape mail brought a Dovpo Riva and replacement squonk bottles for the LV Centaurus BF that still hasn’t arrived.
Still waiting for my sourcemore orders to get here. I don’t even bother looking at tracking. It’s too frustrating.

Ok first impressions of the Orbit:
Airiest RBA I've tried. Got it set somewhere between maximum 4.5mm af and 4.0mm.

The airflow is very smooth and the flavour is good so far. My 13 Feets is still breaking in so I'll have a better idea about flavour in a little while.

I'm using my normal 5 wrap 2.5mm ID Ni80 fused clapton that I build in all my boro RBAs.
I've got it set pretty low above the air intake.

Might have wicked a little too heavily on my first build - the wick wells are smaller than I thought they'd be. Not getting any dry hits though and no sign of leaking.

I put in my first ever order with Sourcemore December 14. Still says "processing". This was for an item that was supposed to ship within 24 hours. And I thought I understood that once you put an order in and paid for it, you would get to Bronze level. That hasn't happened either.

Had the same problem with my last order, took a month to ship when said ship in 24 hours, made tons of orders with SM, this the 1st time that had happened, but did put me off, so next order went to FT, if you haven't already, contact support, was the only way I got mine moving.

Thanks mate. Sure like the looks. Mine is still in transit.
Don't mean to put you on the spot, but how do you rate it against the Qbix?

Good question Fred. I'm just charging up my two blue delros so I can do a proper comparison. Same mods, same chip, same build, same juice.
I'll get back to you tomorrow.

It's got such a different deck wicking wise, compared to the qbix. I've never paid much attention to the actual decks of the bb rbas before - it's like a whole new world of rbas had opened up.

Can't wait for the comparison experiment!

    Ok @Fredman1 and @AngeNZ here's what I've got.

    20220105_075533.jpg

As Ange pointed out, the wicking systems of the two RBAs are totally different: the Qbix has a top down/gravity feed design where the juice drips down from two holes on the top of the chamber and onto the wick tails. I've never had a dry hit or a leak over many months of daily use with this RBA.

The Orbit has has kind of GTA style of wicking where the wicks are being fed by two lots of three tiny holes and a slot in the bottom of the chamber that are open to the juice well. So far I haven't had a single dry hit with the Orbit and I've been chain vaping to test it. I did have one leak yesterday but it was nothing to do with wicking; the silicone plug got pushed against the tank well side of one the Delros. This opened up a little hole and a small amount of juice leaked. I doubt this would happen with an authentic Orbit - I'm guessing the silicone plugs used on the clone may have less exact tolerances.

I've tried to make it happen again but haven't been able to. It was a stinking hot day yesterday so maybe that softened the silicone.
    20220105_080223.jpg

One thing I've noticed is that the Orbit holds a lot of juice. More than any other boro-style tank/RBA combo I've used. In this photo you'll see why; there is less wasted space under the tank than with the Qbix.

    20220105_080717.jpg

One aspect where the Orbit is a clear winner is in the AF design. That ingenious system MissionXV borrowed/stole from SvoeMesto's AEROKON (KFL 2021) design means the air is incredibly smooth and you have a continuously variable af from fully closed to 4.5mm when fully open.

Flavour-wise I'd say they are pretty much neck and neck so far. The Orbit is new to me so I don't know if it has any quirks I haven't discovered. This is only my first build and wick so I might discover ways to get even better flavour from it. The Qbix is an old friend. Been top of my boro RBA list for a long while.

I’m glad I haven’t jumped into the mods and RBAs with bridges etc…

I honestly just don’t like boxy looking mods. Im kind of glad since I have to buy every accessory that an item may have. Im broke enough as it is from all my stabwoods and other purchases.

I need about $12k worth of dental work and im feeling overwhelmed enough without spending more money on new mods and their accessories!

I don’t even understand how these mods and RBAs work! So I’ll have to stick with regular mods and RBAs for now.

I hope everyone’s New Years week is starting out ok. I just had my Moderna booster shot. I’m hoping I don’t get any side effects. I only had a sore injection site with the two Pfizer vaccines so fingers crossed. Although I have read more. people getting the Moderna vax are having flu like symptoms as opposed to the Pfizer.

im just happy I got it. I read It takes a few weeks to work though I’m very cautious regardless and don’t go out much.
