    Morning shinies ;)

Good morning and Happy New Year everyone,
we got snow yesterday, about 0.5 meters in 24 hours, with 20-25 m/s wind, the only thing I've done is carry firewood.
The neighbor has just been in and shoveled snow with his tractor, so now my car is free lol
Unfortunately, it won't be the last time, the schedule is that we can get up to the same amount in the next 48 hours as well.

I miss winter already. But ours are so mild in comparison to yours - our largest was only 2 inches.

We had a miserable autumn, September was very hot, then a normal wet October, a very cold November, and a lot of wind in December.
Øsa was in the forest less than 10 times, that's how bad the weather was for her.
The only thing large amounts of snow give us is overproduction of electricity when it melts, but we have these stupid delivery obligations to Europe that it does us no good.
I would love New Zealand's 2 inches of snow.

    Hey there Fred!
Sounds like you and I need to go fishing one day. My favourite ever Kahawai catch was on saltwater fly off the rocks in 2000. It was my first decent SWF fish ever.
As for the name Kahawai - I don't know what the local NSW indigenous names are for them (in Western Australia it's Ngari) but there's no way I'll call them Australian Salmon. Typical English colonial mis-reading of our local fauna.

Same Beach two mornings ago. Caught a couple of bonito (a type of shiny?)

I'd love to fish them Australian waters with you mate....maybe some day...who knows ;)

I 100% agree with you about colonial naming of things. There's soooo many absurd examples out there. I'm regularly shaking my head wondering how certain names stuck over the years.
That majestic waterfall in Zambia/Zimbabwe for instance, has forever been known by the locals by a name that translates to
    "The smoke that thunders".
It takes your breath away when you see it up close....and you can understand why it deserves a dramatic and descriptive name like that.
But, its known world wide now as the Victoria falls...only because the English made a fleeting visit there....anyway

HAPPY NEW YEAR to Everyone :toast:

The arrogance and sense of entitlement is jaw dropping. The European colonial masters always did see places as possessions to be collected and used as they liked. One of the main reasons the planet is in such a mess of course.

I received the replacement Odin minis today. The fire buttons are super smooth and not hard to press like the first ones I received. I just need to box up the old ones and send them back. They even included a return label.

The only vapemail in transit for me at the moment is a Pulse AIO V2. Very interested to get a look at it.
I’m a little confused on the V2. I thought they already made a V3? Why go backwards to a V2?

Not sure Hitt. I haven't really kept track but this one is a very small/tiny single 18650 boro mod with an IP67 rated chip. Around USD $75 and comes with a new boro atty. This time it's an aluminium chassis with acryllic doors. Looks good in the videos I've seen.
I just checked tracking and mine should arrive tomorrow.
