Ok. The deal is that all successful reciepes MUST be shared! I prefer 100% VG, but I'm willing to play with a little PG. However I think many reciepes can be tweaked to everyones preference. It's the basic proportions and mixtures that lead the direction to start from.

Yea, that first one in the morning is a challenge. My hope is that I'd prefer a flavor over the taste of a smoke. That seems to work most of the day. After eating is another challenge for me. One of the things I miss is the instant "Ahhhh" from a smoke. The nic hits the brain instantly. The nic from a vape can take longer. I've heard up to 10-20 min. I think it's more like 5 min and increases gradually until the full effect is felt. That's the difference I sense. It's hard to hold on until nic from vaping gets to the brain. That's also why I have to be a little more pro-active with vaping and predict ahead of time when I think I'll need that nic instead of waiting until I MUST have a smoke like I would with a cig. That works ok during the day. It's not so effective waking or when eating. I'm just guessing here. I think it's like everything else in life, it's the journey that counts.

Something kinda weird and I'm not going to question or attempt to figure it out but an alternative to WTA/higher nic, etc. and has an instant result is silly Pluid. It's not adv, but it is a shocker to vape. I still get a "Pluid face" from it. It's such an intense, unreal, weirdo flavor like nothing I've ever eaten that it pretty well blows away any desire for anything else to enter the mouth; eating, vaping, smoking, aspirn, vitamins. Like I said-wierd and unexplained. I think any "shocker" flavor would do it, an intense icy menthol/mint, super spicy hot, something unusual. This is guessing and like I said, I can't really explain it. But unlike vaping WTA, etc. the effect is immediate and I think I miss that from smoking.

One of my dreams is to develop a "shocker" of a coffee flavor for first thing in the morning. A super intense, bold, crazy strong, bottom of the pot flavor boiled mud for first thing in the am. That my test out my theory of needing an instant "hit".

Good morning. Wish you all a great TGIF!

Mark, are you vaping everywhere in the house. I have found that since I have started vaping in my living room I am vaping more and not being quite as satisfied. Part of it is dropping nic level but I also think that part of it is about me not having to go out to the sunroom to vape. That is the only place I smoked so now there is no special place I vape. I never smoked in the house. I still do not know if that is one of my 'missing' list items but the timing on it fits for me. Just a thought thrown out to you.

I also considered that I might be getting bored with vaping in general. Kind of like my smoking became boring and a burdensome habit/addiction. One of the reasons I got the Provari and now I am going to build coils. I do not feel like I want a cigarette in the least, but boredom is very bad for me, since I do not work and do not get around a lot.

It also may be a sense of loss, the loss of an old friend, the cigarette and all associated with it. Although I do not miss it and being around others that smoke does not trigger anything in me except a scrunching of the nose once in a while.

I think it's the "old friend" thing as well. Stepping outside just to be doing so just hasn't sunk in yet I suppose. Before I quit smoking I tried stepping outside to vape instead of smoke and it was the exact same "something ain't right here" feeling. It might be spring/cabin fever also. Just about everything I can think of is frustrating today. I found myself fussing at the "fake country" playing on the muzac at work when I was assembling some beds for display. I usually don't even notice it's playing. Anyone that can fake an accent, play a violin and yell at the top of their lungs about a dirt road is now considered a "country music artist" . Stuff like that I normally don't even notice .
Like I said,I think it's something mental and could very well be, as stated above, the chemical change is affecting the mental.
Thank y'all for the advice and most importantly by posting showing I'm not alone.

Are you going to play with Inawere flavorings? I've heard their apple + green apple produces one of the best "crisp apple" taste. The VZ was considered one of the better carmels. Good luck. I know you'll do it.

atm i dont have inawere flavors nor do i have apple, i will go from vendor to vendor to find the perfect apple to play with

I can relate. One of the reasons my friends will tell me to "have a smoke" is that I get wound up, grippy, fidgety. I can't stand it. I don't have a solution either. But it's obviously not just the nicotine since that's been replaced and probably why patches, etc didn't work.

I've heard about MAOI's in cigs and got a chance to ask a pysch dr about those. He said it was highly unlikely since It's rendered ineffective with most foods, which is why they aren't used very much anymore. Many of the additives in cigs are still unknown. Typically blood pressure drops, but that doesn't cause the same effect. So idk what it is other than not fun. There are times a pin drop will have me climbing walls. Ugh.

I am 110% convinced that some people experience withdrawls to more than just nicotine and that's just as challenging, if not more so.

Darksparkle you aren't alone in that! I have been vaping for over a year, I still smoke. I cut down from 3-4 PAD to less than 1 PAD. I am not satisfied with that, I keep chasing the final quit. DIfferent devices, different juices, different tanks. I am not the best at self control, ask me about my sugar levels. I do know that I have to quit eventually.

I would never have stayed with it, without this group of people here. I would have left the Forum, and gone back to full time smoking. They give me the strength and the support I need to continue.

Stick around and enjoy these wonderful friends and you will find that you will not be judged and are always welcome!

So glad to hear others struggle like I have been. most peeps I talk to they are like yeah I just vape now.... :( HOW? but I know that I will stop cigarettes one day and vaping has been most helpful! I am making into a hobby...and expensive for sure so I kinda feel a little pressure to only vape since I am setting myself with all this cool equipment and stuff.

I happen to agree with you on this, IMHO. It is more than just a physical addiction it is mental as well. as smokers we form habits on a reward system, like a kid... we reward ourselves with a smoke.

So I guess its time to get my story out there. Hi I am Darksparkle13 and I am an addict.
I have always had an addictive personality, I craft all sorts of things, am artistic and tinker with stuff just like my dad. Take stuff apart to see how it works and then put it back together.

I have been a full time smoker since I was 12. both my parents smoked, although my sister doesn't smoke weird I know. But glad she didn't!
I have gotten thru addictions of many sorts. But Smoking is that one thing I just cant seem to give up. not sure if it is the thing that makes me remember my dad?
My dad passed away June 29, 2010 and he was my best friend. I miss him every damn day and him and I used to chill on the porch chatting and smoking. My Dad and I talked about everything! Even when he was diagnosed with emphysema & COPD. He still smoked. I saw what he & His body went thru and I made a promise to myself that I would quit before the big 40. He had his first heart attack at 40.
I saw him on a respirator and oxygen & still we sat on the porch and chatted and smoked....
My mom quit smoking after his second heart attack... and of course got mad when we smoked (which btw only made us want to smoke more).... and i Hear all the time smoking bad for you, you have been smoking to long, you know that same ole story....

I have tried almost everything to quit. Meds ( not chantix I am bi-polar that would mess me up seriously LOL) hypno, patches, gums, lollipops, even the blu e-cig when it first came out. and I have always gone back to my old friend cigarettes. so now jump to the present.
I finally gave vaping another try in dec, got my first "starter" kit and really like it, I love the flavors, the options, the ways to decorate and explore, but damn if my old friend doesn't call to me. same as I have seen all of you mention, first thing in the morning, with a great cup of coffee, after I eat, when I am bored or watching tv or movies. I am working on changing all of those habits. I am not smoking store bought cigs, I smoke natural tobacco, packed myself. I have cut my smoking down to about half or more some days. but i still smoke. I am still searching and finding new flavors ( i am a flavor ....) and devices.

So that is my story and just trying the best I know how to stop smoking cigs.
THanks for all the support so far and I look forward to jumping in with my opinions, suggestions and complaints!
I hope everyone has a super wonderful weekend no matter where you are!

and welcome darksparkle13 we've all been there and im also a flavor junkie lol

I noticed that you mix your flavors. I have started doing that now that I know what pg/vg mix I like. but ultimately I am always on the search for new flavors. there are aa few vape shops in the area. but what I taste in the shop for a short period changes when I get it home LOL.
I have finally found the perfect mix to go with my morning coffee! I mixed pre mixed but hey if it works!
