Ask not what your forum can do for you.......hmm...too much? Geeze, I hope all this power doesn't go to my head. :p

I appreciate the opportunity to help where I can. Thank you, Lox.

Well I've been staying clear of this thread, I got so sick of the endless arguing about WTA; congrats Thaya!!

I managed to get my 10,000 posts/ECF Guru status the other day. I don't FEEL like a Guru. :D

Everyone else, with the various health concerns... feel better! vape on!! :vapor:

Thanks, Andria, and congrats on your Guru status. :toast:

I'm glad you came back to the thread. We definitely need to breathe some new life into it. It was less than a year ago that this thread was hopping so fast that it was hard to keep up. I miss that.

I like this thread; even when the cigarettes are safely in the past, the challenges go on and on, it seems. Lately I've had a couple bouts with the dread Vaper's Tongue, luckily didn't last too long; and of course all the stress of dealing with my mother during this medical drama with my stepfather's heart attack -- at one point I actually questioned myself, do I want a cigarette, is that what's wrong with me? But the answer continues to be no, gimme some more of that strawberry and cream! :D It's just the stress of dealing with my mother, always challenging, and of course my addicted mind is prone to probing my abandoned habits like a tongue on a sore tooth. :D

Got another week at 7% WTA, and then I'll be dropping again, to 6%. This is moving right along, actually easier than I thought it would be, but maybe that's because I'm taking it slowly.

I couldn't agree more. Even after being off cigarettes for nearly 1 1/2 years I still feel like I'm only 1 cigarette away from returning to being a smoker. Some people can have an occasional cigarette and not go back to it full force. I don't think I could do that, and I don't want to find out either. I was a very heavy smoker and now I'm a very heavy vaper. I started off at 24mg nic and am now down to 6mg without cravings. Thank goodness we have vaping to help us along. I tried, and couldn't do it any other way.

Yeah, I found that out for myself back in the summer; the first couple tasted pretty dreadful, but at that point everything did, and I'm a good addict, I persevered... after about 5, they just tasted like Coming Home. But now I know it's exactly the same for me as booze; I can't have even one, or I'll be off to the races all over again, and quitting the 2nd time was a lot more challenging than the first time around. One of the main things that's helped me stay sober for 22 yrs is that I have no idea if I could ever do it again, so I'd rather not find out! With either!

I am right there with you on this. I haven't been off cigs for as long, but when I think about it, I think that if I had that first one, I would drop my mod and off to smoking I would go. In retrospect, this Mod is a champ. I rarely if ever put the thing down. Why oh why does it taste so darned good? :D

It's a conundrum. Smoking is bleh, vaping is yum...and yet we're still prone to the pull that cigarettes have on us. I know people who've been quit for 15 years and more who went back to smoking. They say ex-smokers never completely lose the occasional urge to smoke. That's a little scary.

Yeah, that is somewhat scary to think about. Spending all that time getting off of cigs just to go back to them. Gotta keep focused. I still haven't had a drinking night since I quit. I am half afraid to. Just because I know how much I smoke when I drink. And that is going to be tough to get past that urge to pull out the cigs and smoke while I'm drinking. It is going to happen eventually. So hopefully it isn't going to be to hard on me.

Rotowoman, I'm sorry to hear you're still struggling with smoking. I struggled with being a dual user for 4 months before I was finally able to give up the smokes. And that was on my third separate attempt!

What seems to be the thing causing you the most problems? Stress, personal or social triggers, equipment/juice problems, cravings and other things can all contribute to making us revert back to our old 'friend'... cigarettes. Trying to zero in on the problem could help you figure out how to best fight it.

Hell, it's been six months, and this is the worst setback I've had yet! I think it's more stress than anything else. I've been working a lot of overtime and been super busy and super tired. Left one of my MVPs at work and couldn't go back for it since I work 3 hours away from home. Just a bunch of assorted BS. I feel like I'm just copping out.

Do you have backups for situations like that? Some people leave a setup in their car just in case. If heat is a problem, maybe you could get a very small cooler to keep your stuff in.

Stress is a beast when it comes to quitting. It's okay to give yourself permission to smoke when the stress really gets to you. Just tell yourself that you'll follow up the smoke with a nice relaxing vape session afterwards. Getting upset with yourself about smoking just adds to the stress.

Vaping, for me, has become almost a hobby. I enjoy rebuilding and wicking and trying new juice and equipment. Of course I've got the time for that, and from what I recall, you probably don't.

I've found that I'm more satisfied with higher power devices even though I don't sub ohm or go higher than 20 watts. I enjoy seeing a bigger cloud of vapor which I find more satisfying visually. I've switched from 50/50 to 80/20 VG/PG just for that reason. What kind of setup and juice are you using?
