Definitely a noticeable difference. And yes, I learned this with 2.00+ coils. I have always used 2.00mm coils but decided to go with 2.4mm (using less wraps) on the mini because it is a narrower deck. After a few rewickings I decided to trim them down and glad I did.
I think like most, who maybe has been rebuilding for a couple or few years used to do true micro coils, I think when I first started with the kafun and micro coils, I was doing 1.4 to 1.6 mm coils and the tails worked perfect, but now the trend is bigger ID coils and there comes a point where to much wick tail is too much. Although i don't go bigger then 2.5, some do, and while that amount of tail may be ok in a dripper, I think it's too much in rta's. Granted, when most were using true micro coils, most weren't vaping over 15 watts or so, but now most are vaping much higher and I think the bigger ID coils handle that better. My average wattage is about 24 but if I was still vaping what I was a few years ago, let say between 12 and 17, I think I would still be using smaller ID coils. Actually I'm not really sure about that because juices have changed a little to, I think now, more and more juices are higher in VG .

Bronze did you say you had a radius? I purchased one a few months back and it's definitely my favorite mod. I want to get another but first I need to sell all my tube mods. The more box mods I bought the less I used my tubes, and now I don't use them at all. It's a shame because I have some awesome tube mods but now when I use them, they keep getting knocked over.

I still Vape @ around 1.3 - 1.5 ohm, and around 9 - 13 Watts. I find it to be a cool, tasty Vape. For me that is.

I'm just the opposite. I love the tube form factor - and am averse to the boxes. I have just two true boxes (both VaporSharks), a semi (the iStick v1) and a midway (the ZNA). But tons of tubes, which I use constantly, while the boxes remain indoors, usually for photo-ops only.

Knocking over, tho seldom, is Ok for me. That's part of the journey! Well, I've dropped buncha cigarettes into the riverbed while trying to take out one from a pack you see :D

Oh yes, we all are different. Which is why the world is such a unique and lively place!

I have a few of both. And like them all to tell it.:) I travel more often with a Tube Mod rather than a Box Mod. Easier to stow away and keep up with.

Hello there!

I'm new here and decided to join the fun... last month was my first anniversary of being cigs free! I've been following the posts in this thread and decided to get myself a K3 Mini, since I've been enjoying my K4 (clone, sorry) for a while now, I had to give this a try... when I saw that Vapor Shark had them in stock I placed an order right away, with the extra glass tank, and got it in a couple days, I'm in FL and not too far from Vapor Shark. I've been using mine on a daily basis for over a week with no issues whatsoever!

I first did my usual K4 build, 26 ga Kanthal 2.5 ID 8 wraps, but then switched to a spaced N80 3mm ID and the flavor has been exellent!

I had one minor issue the second time I went to fill it, and it was all my fault. I couldn't close the juice control and it drove me crazy cause I couldn't figure out what happened! Then I noticed that the "ring" at the top of the base was slightly bent, I had to use a magnifier to see it. I then remembered that I dropped the base on the counter when I took it off to check the wick. I would say it was probably a 12" drop from my hand to the counter, but it was enough to bend the frame inwards and stop the tank from going down into the base. So be careful handling your tank! It's fixed now but with some minor scratches :(

I wanted a nice SS mod to go with the K3 Mini so I got a Vaporflask Lite and it's a great combo!

Waiting for Steam Tuners to get the drip tips back in stock...will be perfect after that. The weight reduction is huge with the Diamond tank. Just dremeled the juice holes a little wider for easier filling.
They sure do have some nice ones on there

That looks awesome... is the finish on both exactly the same?

I got my self one of those ego one 1100 mah batteries for easy pocketing... works great but they have a different finish which makes my ocd tickling.

Spaced coils are a bit more forgiving for sure because juice can flow a little easier and I believe a spaced coil isn't quite a hot but you should be able to run a tight coil just the same. I doubt the main reason for your previous dry hits was just going from tight to spaced, but more so either to much wick tails jammed into platform or not enough wicking material in the coil itself. Either way it's awesome you got it sorted and after a few times you will get consistent results. Awesome looking coil there my friend!

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

I'd tried all variations of wicks , thick, thin, long short, barely touching the deck, etc, etc. none of the wicks were pushed tightly down to the deck. Trimmed the tails, etc, etc. this was with a contact coil. When I went to spaced coil for it, no more problems.

I went thru 8 wicks or so with the same contact coil. Varied the coil height a little. Still had the problem.

Maybe, I should have said "burnt taste" rather than "dry hit" . Not all of the wicks had burning on them, and the ones that did, varied in degree of burn.

My current theory is that MY juice gets burned to a contact coil in the confined deck of the mini. Too much heat for my juice (Halo TriBeCa). Still working fine 1.5 tanks at this point.

It's very close, but not an exact match. The SS on the mod is a tiny bit darker. Someone earlier posted a pic of the Stout in this thread, that's where I got the idea.

LMAO!. No Diver, I don't have a Radius (know all about them though as I spend a lot of time on the ProVape threads). I use a P3 these days. I vape at 10 watts still so there was no reason for me to buy a Radius. Yes, I'm still a wimpy vaper. It's not like I haven't tried subohm, high power vaping. I have. It just doesn't agree with me. 42 years of smoking musta charred my lungs up. :)
Honestly I feel like a wimpy vapor these days, it seems like 90 percent of every device and video out there is geared towards major power. I see pre made coils in ranges from 40 to 100 watts. Christ, it seems everyone has a dna 200 these days! What in the heck does one need 200 watts, or whatever they push out.The highest dna I have is a 40, but most are 30, I tried 40 once in my dripper, just to try it, and because all my juices are 18 and 24mg, it was a little harsh.[emoji12] ... if I sub ohm, it's not by much, most of my coils are between .8 to 1.2 ohms. Pretty much vape around what I used to, just upped the wattage a little.

Looks like you waited too long, I believe they're out of stock... when you click on the link it says "There are no products matching the selection."

I'm just north of you in the Tampa Bay area.
