WOOHOO!! I got my payment request! (glad I looked!! :D )

Man I am so excited about getting the upgrades....I just :w00t: when I saw the email...lol

I was on the silicawicks.com site when the email came through with a choddy in my cart.....quickly emptied that one....lol (actually I was going to get the slightly pricier option to get the 40ft of 3mm wick, 100ft of 32g kanthal, and 5ft of 30g silver NR along with the clone)

I was # 98.... Jeeze! The list is up to 216, and still open... I hear you about the vape budget.. So damn many cool toys coming out lately.. I now have to put aside for the upcoming Rose rba over at UK Vapers.. (Pretty sure their 150 slots are filled now) I'm REALLY trying to be good.... ;) Good thing I'm happy with my DIY Hangsen tobacco mixes...

well, he reopened for the 3rd list actually. He closed our list around 140 or so, then reopened it a few days later. glad the demand is there for these....in case i want to get on the list again....lol

Whatsup guys....
I just ordered the OKC nautilus, a mkbts, and ggts adapter (thanks technonut for the nudge!)

Ive always liked the gg stuff just was too hard to get and pricey plus was so many parts to try and wrap your head around.

But im glad china has gave us vapers on a budget a chance to get ahold of this stuff.

Ive been through the tier of equipment and for the last year been using genny tanks but fedup with fidgety hotspots on mesh wicks and find a better flavor from my protank... but after a month of service the protank is leaking at the glass seam and with rebuilding the coils the grommets only last so long ...plus small juice capicity....
alas -I stumbled across these oddy clones and rekindle my interest in gg or ggclone gear.

My nautilus should be here tomorrow and been trying to research everything I need to know.

Wanted to read through this whole thread but took half a day to make it 20 pages.

Hoping I can get any vital info in a nutshell, for a new oddy user like myself. Is there any critical info I need to know?

Should I dremel ceramic channels out for sure?
Any definate "best wick" to use for taste/durability?
Any other vital pointers or tips for new users?

I know the info is here and will continue to read through the thread just hoping to get any "need to know" info to get up and running without surprises.

Thanks

Tips in a nut shell:

avoid leaking

join r+nr wire

That's about it, really. I'm fine using 3mm silica and I didn't Dremel anything. 34 gauge kanthal at 3/2 wraps is tasty for me at around 2 ohms, but I like to use a crown for consistency of power. If you go pure mech, you might prefer 4/3 wraps of 32 gauge.

Everything in this video is pretty much spot on with the exception of grounding the NR negative under the ceramic housings ring.
I wrap my ground wire around the wick so it contacts the base below the ring when screwed in.
Scott is also screwing the ceramic housing farther in as to make the positive pin stick out a little because a Provari's 510 is flush with it top cap so unless you have a Provari the positive pin should be about even with the 510 on the base.

Awesome...thanks guys!

Ive made it through 30 pages and sofar it seems about half the people say to ground it behind the ring and other half say coil it around the wick to make contact...

Some say using the nut will create a misalignment and oring to not seal causing leakage.... others say grounding with it coiled around wick causes a spotty connection.....

Should I lean towards one way or the other? Probablly just personal preference and need to decide myself huh?

It's more that grounding it under the nut causes juice to leak into the ceramic. The o-ring still functions as it should. The gap is very small (depending on the size of your NR wire) but it can cause gurgling.

I just bend the loose wire out so that it contacts the base when the ceramic housing is screwed into the base. I did get a spotty connection and wandering ohms wrapping it around the wick so I haven't been doing that, but others have good success with it.

truthfully....its up to you.

I lock my NR wire down under the ring with zero issues.....no leaking, no flooding....just as it should be. when i close my juice control, I can vape the wick dry and it stays that way until I open it. The NR wire isnt large enough diameter to throw anything off that much, as there isnt enough play in the threads to allow it to. It has been working fine from day one.

but there again, three posts, three different techniques....

I got my miniature AA powered arc welder built last night. The results are.. quite satisfactory ;)

I made a coil tonight with 32g nickel and 6/5 wrap of 28g kanthal with the joins right about where the legs pass over the ceramic. Resistance is a little higher than I wanted but vaping great at 1.1ohm. This is also my first Ekowool wick (2mm) in the Term.

Not only are the wire joins far better than any I am capable of wrapping by hand they are super easy to do and a LOT of fun :)

First attempt works but it's a little sloppy and a little light on capacitance. When I find a good housing I'm just gonna make a better one ;)

I think you need to be registered at the forum to see the list:

Zaloguj | E-papierosy-forum.pl

The normal thread is here:

Upgrade Nautilusa | Kopie / Klony | E-papierosy-forum.pl

Without hijacking this thread would some kind soul please explain to me how to order one of these kits? Am i just posting on the thread that I want one? I am registered to that site now but with the English translation I am still confused, which is not hard to do. I have a Nautilus V2 on the way with the parts needed for long and short mode. There is a long and short mode kit as well? People seem to be raving about this kit and Todd's review, as always, is really good. A response through pm would be great if posting on this thread isn't kosher.

Thank you!!!

Would be very helpful to many other folk to post this in: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/367095-resistance-no-resistance-wire-welder.html

When tieing coils of R/NR, I end up over/under shooting the desired Ohms. Figure the welder would make life easier.
Anyway, I like this V1 Terminator C. Running a 1.7 Ohm with Kanthal 30/Nickel 32 tied around 2.5mm silica. Normal was (last 9 months) the Vivi Nova burning holes on the insides of my lips with 2 Ohm or less. The vape is also cooler which I find nice.

I've been making my coils and building like Phil Busardo's video... I don't like mechs, so I make 5 wraps of 32ga Kanthal and silver NR and although they clock at about 1.9 ohms, they rock at 10w, plenty of vapor... I rewicked them a month ago and the resistance is still dead on. I really like this build, maybe I'll do 1 less wrap in the next one but I found what works for me. I decided not to go to the V2 ceramic, I like the V1, and now I've got it right I don't want to change. Still I read this thread to find out what you're up to...

My on the go vape is a Vapeonly BCC. Terms are nice, but even in the smallest config is too heavy to have around my neck.
