I know what you mean (her poor dear old heart was in the right place), but I personally gasped, cringed, and then damn near fainted when I first saw what she had done to that painting! 8-o
I still can't bear to look at it.
And now we have LdV's Last Supper a la Nana, too. (Gee thanks, Starsong . . . )
Actually the amount of publicity that restoration has got I bet it is worth a lot of money now. I think in a few years if not now some collector would pay a bucket load for that, if not for anything else just for the novelty value. It would also be a great asset to any museum - I'd go see it.
I read they might be getting some expert on the job to try and do a repair, I hope not.
