You'll only appreciate this if you've seen the news recently about a botched restoration of an old painting of Jesus. Made him look like Mr. Bill with something fuzzy wrapped around his head. Then people started spoofing it, and the Last Supper just cracked me up.

that old lady that tried to help fix the painting,has more talent then i do.
you can't help but crack up on her honest attempt at restoration.

I know what you mean (her poor dear old heart was in the right place), but I personally gasped, cringed, and then damn near fainted when I first saw what she had done to that painting! 8-o
I still can't bear to look at it.
And now we have LdV's Last Supper a la Nana, too. (Gee thanks, Starsong . . .
)
Actually the amount of publicity that restoration has got I bet it is worth a lot of money now. I think in a few years if not now some collector would pay a bucket load for that, if not for anything else just for the novelty value. It would also be a great asset to any museum - I'd go see it.
I read they might be getting some expert on the job to try and do a repair, I hope not.
