Hangsen RY1 is a straight up tobacco taste with very little sweetness and will add a bit of harshness.

Thank You for that. Now I'm thinking of maybe adding some of the RY1 to my 4% Arabic HS/1.75% FA Flash mix for some added TH and harshness, something New to explore. I do have some RY3 coming Monday, is that sweeter than the RY1 ??

Yes you should taste a distinct sweetness derived from the caramel and vanilla in it.

Like Danny say's the higher the number behind the RY, the sweeter it gets.
Personally, I have a sweet tooth at times, and the RY4 is perfect with a fruit or pastry.
Hardly has any tobacco taste to it, but it really adds "body" to a flavor mix.

"Take the Highway", I did, and at 4.5%. For some reason Marshall Tucker Band reminds me of Jethro Tull. IDK, it just does. Good stuff though, Glad I tried it, It's a Keeper for sure., and I mix with a 80/20 PG base at 9mg/ml ECX with 1.75% FA Flash. Next up is Desert Ship starting at 3%.

Edit; I vape a lot faster than I steep, so I am trying all my mixes virtually unsteeped, but, I do have a little hand mixer that I initially use to mix with to a foamy froth, then let sit and relax for a day or two, then vape.

I gotta say I just got hangsen Virginia essences and man after two days aND a hot bath at 3% it's good very smooth and taste like a light cig. Definitely going to be ordering more of their flavorings.

Curious how their American and vanilla is? I really enjoy American cig blend with vanilla added going to have to try it with them.

SNK, I prefer the RED USA mix over the plain USA mix. Red is dry and tobaccoey while the USA is what I call "sweet and funky". Start as a standalone @ 3-4% and see how you like it. Then add some vanilla in. According to member LOVEVANILLA, Flavourarts are the way to go with vanillas.

No taste or flavor Matt, it's just a TH Enhancer, best used with a Dirty type of Nic versus a Clean type of Nic. I use ECX Nic because I found it to have the most TH of the Nic's I had tested back when I was First getting into DIY. JeremyR posted to me that ECX was one of the best (if not the best) Nic's for TH so that's how I was initially steered in that direction, then I did research and found that of all the additives I could use to Enhance the TH of the ECX Nic even further, that FA Flash held the most promise to enhance what TH there already was in the Nic, and it did just that. I'm like Jeremy when it comes to TH, the more the better. I used to mix plain Unflavored ECX Nic and FA Flash when I first started because my taste was so muted from 52 years of Tobacco that I couldn't taste flavors at all, but wanted TH for sure. Hope this helps you out Matt.

Edit: I had mixed some plain ECX nic and PG/VG batch and tested it against a ECX Nic with FA Flash mix, and there was a noticeable difference in TH so much so that I now use Flash all the time for added TH. I use FA Flash at 1.75% in all my mixes but found that any higher % of Flash and I get a buildup of Phlegm in the back of my throat. YMMV on the % of Flash you use though, as we are all different.

I have finally dipped into my Desert Ship mix at 3% and first impression is Arabic without the sweetness. 3% is a bit thin on flavor (to my taste) so will try it at 4% and see what happens. I do like the taste of it enough to stay with it for further testing as a possible 3rd flavor in my small rotation. I'm more of a Menthol/Mint vaper and have been for a long time. I'm onto Menthol/Mint most of the day 100%, but during the evening I get into Tobacco Flavors before I hit the sack. I wanted more of a variation of Tobacco flavors so am trying different Hangsens just to see what I like. Arabic I love, but wifey can't stand the exhale aroma (says she can smell it from across the room at 4% ????) so am testing for an alternate Hangsen to use while she is up and around. I really like Highway at 4.5% almost as much as Arabic at 4%, so that is a winner, but have several more to test since I have them. When done with Desert Ship I will be onto Gold & Silver for a try and report back.

Thanks for the write up about Flash, 52. Just got mine in last night, yep no flavor. I'm gonna start at 1% in my tobacco (Magic Mix) and go from there. This might be the additive I've been looking for for a long time!

Regarding flavors that you love, but give off bad exhale aroma.....welp, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, that's why I don't vape honeys any more

Can't wait for the opinion on G&S! I'd try it, but I'm in too deep with tobacco flavorings right now. Flavor cabinet is looking like George Costanza's wallet...

Hi 52 ... just thought I would throw in my here.
Of all the tobaccos I've tried, HS is my favorite.
My taste buds didn't all come back after 56 years of smoking, so I use most of them a little higher than others.

As a solo:
Desert Ship.... 5% yummy, better than everyone else's so called Desert Ship
Arabic... 5% good .. (7% when mixed)
Highway .. 5% yummy ... one of my favorites
Gold & Silver...8% super mild
Golden V1 ....8% yummy
Golden Tree ... 4-5% good
Churchill.... 3% good, mild, plain taste, good as a base for adding other flavors.
Congress ... 8% OK, but not special
Elder Captain ... 3% super mild, good
Flue Cured ... 5% mild, good
Indian ... 5% yummy, especially with AP added
I have others HS tobaccos that are basically "average"

Although I have a few I like by others, I like almost all of HS tobaccos.
They seem to have it figured out

I've just mixed up some G&S @ 4% just to get a feel for the strength of that particular flavor. Looks like I'll be letting it sit and steep for a few days as I still have to use up the last of my Desert Ship test mix first.

I went from 3% of Desert Ship to start with, then up to 4.5%, then settled at 5% as the strength I liked best (just like you Slots). I find it to be more of a "Straight Tobacco" flavor with not much (if any) sweetness at all, and for a change of pace I like it. Not an ADV for me like my Menthol/Mint mix, or even Highway at 4.5%, but I do find it a nice change. Mixed with FA Flash and ECX Nic, I can get a very good TH from it though, and TH is always a plus for me.

Desert Ship = 5%, or Highway @ 4.5%, or Arabic @ 4%
FA Flash = 1.75%
ECX Nic = 9mg/ml
all in a 80/20 PG dominate base
as you can see, my recipe's are rather simple.

Slots posted that G&S is "Super Mild" so who knows where I will end up at for my percentage, or even if I will like it enough to make a bigger batch. I like my Tobacco's on the stronger side with as much TH as I can get.

I forgot to add .. I mix way ahead of myself, especially with tobaccos.
I mix up 18 (each a different flavor) of all fruits ... or all tobaccos, ... or all bakery flavors.
When one batch gets down to about 6 bottles, I make another batch.
Basically I mix about once every 6 weeks, and I have about 25-30 bottles sitting around waiting.
That sounds like a lot, but they are all about 8-10ml.

So, all my juice automatically sit for a month or more.
With tobaccos, the longer they sit, the better they get.
For some reason, they take longer to mature.

Anyway ... when you find flavors you like, mix 2 bottles, and forget one of them

That's me in a nutshell. I run with 5 - 8 mods all with different flavors. At the moment doing 4 tobacco and 3 desert. I tire easily and switch off constantly throughout the day often mis-placing my MODs and having to enlist the family's help to locate them.

And that is precisely why I have gone to looking for different flavors instead of just using my Menthol/Mint ALL the time. I am thinking that in another day I will be trying my 4% G&S mix at 80/20 PG dominate.

Same with me. My wife has an acute sense of smell. No one has smoked in our house for years, but once in awhile we'll walk in from the garage after being out for a while and she'll say, "I smell cigarettes!". I quit smoking 6 years ago and she quit a year after that.

If I vape Arabic, RY4, Cuban Supreme, or Western she senses sweet. I tend to look for tobacco flavors without so much sweet content.

She's good with Hangsen Highway or FA Virginia, Cowboy, or Soho, and unflavored nic mix. It's just a few very sweet flavors she finds to be cloying. I don't vape Desert Ship much unless I'm outside cutting grass or doing yard work.

Figured I would ask this here rather then make a whole new thread for it. I got some Hangda ry4(ruyan4) from fast tech other day finally come in. Taste amazing reading around I see that Hangda is supposed to be made in the same place as Hangsen? Just curious if I could buy Hangsen RY4 flavoring and recreate this stuff myself? I've had some RY4 before (mainly american stuff from vape shops) and this is by far some of the best i've ever had could vape this all day long . So just curious if so ordering flavoring today asap lol.

Well, I'm into this Gold & Silver now. I started a 10ml test batch at 4% and didn't think much of it. Like Slots said, it's pretty weak, so I upped it to 5% and didn't notice much improvement, so I went up to 6% and it's still weak. I'm now at 7% and things are finally looking up. I've adjusted my initial 10ml test batch 3 times and will just use what's left at 7%, then run another 10ml batch starting at 7% and go from there. Slots, you were right on with you're appraisal of Gold & Silver being weak, as at 7% I'm finally getting some flavor. I'll keep ya'll posted as I continue testing.
