Not many but their around I've found tracks before while deer hunting a few miles from the house :)
Oh my. Wow.
I wouldn't like that.
Make sure you keep your trash in check, but I'm sure you do anyway.

Agreed.

Exactly why I told the evil one she needs to learn to handle a rifle.

Doesn't help when they euthanize a protective ("aggressive") mother and relocate the cub to a known populated area, though.

Woods or not.

Amen to that.

Yeah. Heaven forbid the local righteous indignation brigade finds out you like hunting critters.

Which reminds me. Need to buckle down and start looking for a good rifle. Wild boar are treated pretty much the same way as coyotes down here (nuisance). Time for a BBQ. :D
We have wild boar in our freezer at the lake. Good stuff. :D
...Texas wild boar.

Welp, guess I should get moving.
Need to get my passport renewed today.:nah: Been putting it off and I just need to gitter dun.
Going to try to press the wrinkles out of those window treatments, and need to make a trip to the market.
Wanted to go to the lake and wash windows, but it's going to be too hot for that.
Supposed to rain tomorrow anyway.

@retired1 did you see my link for where I've gotten some really good coffee on eBay??
Fresh roasted beans or they'll grind for you. $10 a pound for beans. Seriously good stuff.

Nope. Right now, I'm not too much of a coffee snob. As long as it's corrosively strong and not decaf, I'm OK with the cheap stuff. Once bills are paid down and I can start enjoying the finer things, I may take a peek.

@oldbikeguy - speaking of animals tearing up a car, reminded me of one...
An Airman from SAFB was at the counter one day telling a story of a buddy of his who was stationed in AK.
He'd gone out to start the car one morning to warm it up and when he got out to go back in, noticed a momma moose and her baby next to the car.
He dove under the car to get away from her, she proceeded to flat destroy the car, the guys wife was at the front door FREAKING out he said.
The moose and baby I guess finally left, but dude under then car I'm sure needed to change his drawers.

A Missouri Black Bear was videoed passing through the neighboring town of Bourbon.

84.5 acres in Crawford County, Missouri
Gorgeous, but can you say...floodplain?
Hey, that's why you build houses on stilts, right??
I'd love to be in the middle of nowhere!!

That's one of the leading causes of people being late for work up there according to my cousin that works for fish and game up there,a big moose in the driveway or front yard

That would freak me out.
When my sister and her husband were stationed there, he was deployed and one was coming through their neighborhood every morning.

You know, where my nephew guides, he was telling me how keeping the lodge area "bear proof" is serious stuff.
With all the fresh fish they bring in, and normal food and trash, etc. They have to be extremely cautious and aware of their surroundings at all times.
He also doesn't only guide from a boat, he takes people to other fly in areas for stream fishing. He said that's where you really, REALLY have to be aware.

I bet it's gorgeous too. I didn't think you were in a low area.

She scared it away banging pots together. N. Dakota farm girl she was.

    No kidding.
I'm thinking the bears are protected there, pretty much no matter what. Is that right??
It makes him uneasy. He said they're 100% bear bait with a big old salmon or trout on the line.
