    Hiya Dale

Fitbit, apple watch track how many steps/miles you walk. I'm trying to get some money back from my health coverage through a reward program from work. I just don't want to spend half of the reward money buying one new.
Don’t blame you there, sorry I can’t help.

Good afternoon Dale and Joey

I agree, Dale. I would much prefer to be snuggled up with hot chocolate and a book. I’d like to finish the one my co worker lent me this weekend. It’s not steamy lol but it will do.

Dh went to the butcher to get chicken, bacon and chops. We got a 10lb bag of breasts for $17. Woot!! It goes for between 5&6/lb at the store. Guessing we got lucky only because they didn’t have any in the case. Don’t imagine they sell it like that regularly.

Wish I could help you out too, Joey. The only fitbit I have is the one on my wrist. Any chance you have a smart phone and can download an app that counts your steps?

    Hiya Sara

I have an iphone just not sure how good it is working when the screen turns off. I walk all night long at work, a few miles easily. If I take the pass lock off it leaves my phone wide open if I lose it someone has a free iphone

Ok, so I just looked at my iphone. There is an app called Health. It’s white with a red heart. Looking at it, I can see that it definitely does log while locked. Under Favorites (I never previously set anything up on it) I see Steps, tap on it and scroll all the way to the bottom and tap Show All Data. It should show you all your steps for the previous year by date. I don’t keep my phone on me all day, it’s on my desk unless I go to break. However, I know we are walking all day at the fair and when I scrolled to September I can see 10k+ for the days that weekend.

I started with a Fitbit Charge 2 and it lasted me past when they came out with the 3’s and now I have a Charge 4 (the 2 died or I’d send it to you) I want to say it lasted me a good 2-3 years because this one is maybe close to a year now and I got the first one in 2018. They are very similar but I don’t have to worry about getting this one wet in the pool. I wear it 24/7 and charge it when I take a shower. It is synced to my phone, so it notifies me when I get a text (can read the text on it) or phone call (shows who is calling), monitors my sleep, heart rate, steps. When I go to bed, I put it in sleep mode (still tracks sleep, hr, steps if I get out of bed etc) but it doesn’t light up or vibrate while sleeping. So it won’t wake you in the middle of your sleep.

    Thanks Sara

I have the rally app through bcbs healthy rewards I need to see if the iphone app will work with rally app. I need to keep checking the rally app to see if it is recording while the phone screen is off. If not I will get a fit bit and switch rally from my phone to the fit bit. Going to check out some fit bits tomorrow :)

Hit me with a pm if anyone does I need to buy to track my steps :)
I am sure there are many good apps to keep track of your steps. I just use the one that is on my phone. I just looked at it and since I started using it September 18, 2020, I have walked 7,423,226 steps. That's a lot of steps and probably the reason I lost 60 lbs. and did not lose my patience with dad during the rough times. I have a lot of "obsessions" but I never thought walking would be one of them.

Good luck to you, I'm sure you will find something.

Good morning Dale, Sara, R2 and Lurkers

Got the tree taken down, still have some ornaments to wrap and put away. Need to go to the store for some groceries and my prescriptions. Also need to get lab work and a chest xray done sometime this week.

Been 10 days since my last cigarette, starting to feel better, also not coughing as much.

Hope everyone has a great day :w00t:

Good morning Dale, Sara, Rat2, Joey

Yep, on my iPhone the Apple included Health app automatically tracks steps, flights of stairs climbed, calories burned, running distances and much more.

An iPhone doesn't need to be unlocked to gather data. When an iPhone is locked it's not off, it is in battery saving mode. We can still receive phone calls, texts and alerts while our iPhone's are locked. So an iPhone is awake, if you will, it just has it's eyes closed.

Here's the info on how to setup and use the Health app.

FWIW...... the Health app will even tell you your Resting Energy!

Joey the Rally app integrates with the Health app to collect activity data. The info is on the App Store.
