bump for the best clearo known to man :)

bad, I noticed a few of my ten new fluxos have a purplish ground wire, and an unshielded bare metal post wire (instead of two black shielded wires).

i've heard unshielded copper is a no no in exposed juice, just wondering if you knew anything about the wire change and what it was made out of?

Ummmm, that doesn't sound like good quality control.... mine came with the black wires as well, but I ordered them almost 2 weeks ago.

I have a ? regarding these.

I got a burnt taste on my 2nd Supreme XL so I followed some of the ideas on this thread.

I took the seal out and cut the underside thingy down. I also fluffed the wicks a bit. After putting it back together I still get a burnt taste. I vaped it for a while to see if it would go away, but no dice.

Would a dry-burn solve this problem? Maybe there's silicone on the coil

Thanks,

Chris

I was getting that burning rubber/silicone taste as well. I think what worked the best for me was soaking them in Isopropyl Alcohol, 91%, for a few hours and then rinsing them off in warm water. Drying them off and letting them air dry for a few hours. After this I did a dry burn and they have been excellent. I do, occasionally get that burnt taste, but I think its me pulling too hard and having the wick get a little dry.

To add in, I also cut the underside of the nipple off, this helped tremendously as well.

Ah, right the nipple (The thingy).

Thanks man, I'll try the soak and dry burn tonight. Waiting on a manual battery to show itself in the mailbox. All mine are autos right now. Don't think you can dry burn with the auto's.

Chris

Yup, you'll need a manual battery. I think you'll find the manuals better all around:)

I had one where the coil was to too close to the ceramic cup... gently moved it the coil over a bit and it was back to normal and no more burned taste. I think I moved the coil when digging out the nipple. This aspect I don't like.

I normally dont push the nipple all the way down, just letting it sit snug enough to avoid juice loss - it helps too not jam the drip tip in there. I find that this helps wicking and keeps the coils from burning the nipple. I don't consider this fiddly... kinda like not slamming my car doors.

Btw... on my 4th, yes 4th fill of flavor bumped Bobas with no issues. I'll be soaking this one after this but im just sayin. I've vaped CE2s exclusively for almost a year.Hope the Phoenix are as good as I've heard.

Do you know which ones they are? As in, where to get the ones that sit lower? I only have the crappy that i get with my cartos...

What ive done bigpman, is also remove the cup seal completely. Some of my drip tips sit low enough in the tube to actually touch the cup and they act as the cup seal.

The shanks on the drip tips that GV sells separately are slightly longer than the ones that come with the Fluxos. If you remove the cup seal completely, and use one of the aftermarket drip tips, it will sit against the top of the ceramic cup, when fully inserted. It's a pretty good and easy mod, if you're experiencing burning with the silicone cup seal.

Also be sure to fluff the wick as that helps prevent flooding.

I did as someone else had said and completely removed the silicone cap and pushed a ceramic drip tip just farther down. I get no leaking because it sits against the cup but the taste seem's less!!?? Could concentrating the airflow over the coil in a more narrow pattern, improve the flavor?

Didn't we see the Vivi Nova version 2 vids it concentrating the airflow over the coil with a smaller airtube?

Added later:... then again.. everything seems flavorless right now... maybe it's my tastebuds this evening.

Don't ya just hate that "mud mouth" thing when it happens? I went through about 10 straight days of it about 3 weeks after I started vaping...assume it was just my taste buds trying to heal. Now it usually only happens in the evening, if I have been vaping a lot. It is weird how taste bads react tho. I bought some pralines and cream juice that I was really looking forward to. After steeping it for 3 weeks, I still couldn't taste anything. My friend tried it and went crazy over it....describing this wonderful sweet taste :glare: Gave it to her...she loves it and I still can't taste a thing when I try it.

I haven't had the burning silicone cap issue yet or wicking issues because it seems most of my silicone cups almost never seat itself correctly over the ceramic cup. The center rod getting off center I think contributes to this. But it has helped me I believe with no cap burn and it leaves more space for juice to seep on the wicks. Rather than trimming the bottom of the silicone, I would just make sure it doesn't go on all the way. Put the center post a slight off center and it will happen naturally. I haven't seen this mentioned but I have trouble reading long threads:oops:. My attention always pull me to something else and I forget about the thread.

I just tried the new FLüXOMIZER™ SUPREME. At first it was vaping great on my 5V Woo but after a few hits I got that burned harsh taste which may indicate you’re getting a dry vap or something is burning incombination with not enough of your ejuice. I pulled the wicks up a tad over the top of sides of the ceramic cap.

Then I pulled up the silicone end cap up a tad so more ejuice could flow in evenly. The silicone cap when set as instructed, can squish the wicks and slow down the flowing of juice to the coil. Since the cap is pulled up a bit, I had backed off seating the included drip tip all the way in. Doing all of the above I noticed better flavoring and plenty of smoke on each vap. No more harsh draws.

I suppose I will modify the cap by cutting larger slots in the sides so the wicks can draw fluid without any restrictions to the flow of ejuice using a exacto knife. IMHO this has got to be the best cartomizer cartridge I have used so far. My favorite vaping is straight vap using an atomizer. But these FLüXOMIZER work like an atty. A no fuss, no leaking, and no constant reloading, I love these FLüXOMIZER’s!! I use a syringe filler to load my ejuice but it is easy to fill straight from the bottle. :)

I experimented with my flux's and replaced my carto in one of Mary's Chibi Tanks with the whole cartridge reg. size. I took an a short eye screw that you hang things from a ceiling and twisted a medium size hole in the plastic tubing. The reg. size fluxomizer was modded with the larger left over flux tube cut down to fit long enough to meet the top rubber grommet. The flux seals are not used at all. Chibi Tanks are cute small tanks. One flux modded tubing didn't make it too the top so I just pushed my EmpireMods Stainless Steel Drip Tip top down inside to align with the tube and still extend out at the top. This one turned out just fine. Using it right now.

Well needless to say, I do not have to keep filling the flux with ejuice because there some ejuice in the flux tube and most of it in the surrounding tank. I fill my tank up approx. 1/3 full, this doesn't flood the flux. The ejuice in the flux cart fills only at the bottom where the hole is. The right size hole will maintain the ejuice in the tank and only use what is needed to keep the wicks wet. A little bigger hole will let some of the ejuice sit in the bottom of the flux cart. Either way, the wicks stay fully saturated. No need to tilt the flux's to get ejuice to the coil. It works great on the short reg Flux's. I use
a syringe thru the rubber grommet top cap. You could prime the coil with a drop or two. Even prime the wicks a bit but if you like.

Flux work best for me on a 3.7 volt setting. It works on my 5volt Woo but you must be carefully to only take soft short burst or you will get that burnt taste even with the higher ohm fluxomizers. I twist the tank on with a loose fit to draw more air to keep it drawing not as hot to avoid the burnt taste. The 5volt Woo is an ejuice hog, so I prefer to use my 3.7 volt mods. Better taste and it spares the run time on filling up ejuice. Next mod with the flux will be on the Acorn Tank. So far so good. Just need to refine it a bit.
