Yeah seems like a crapshoot w these. Got my order of 5 in today. 2 work perfectly 2 taste like a tire fire even without the seals in and one seems to be on the fence.

Wish they were a little more consistent cause I like them when they're working.

Lunch do me a favor on the one's that taste burnt you said that you have the silicone out look at your coil and see if it has a humped up coil , the first one I opened no matter what I did tasted terrible than I noticed it has a raised coil and just burns before the rest of the coils even heat up . See pick below

Think I need to see a video on filling these things, it is NOT easy to fill. Have to use a needle or pull out the cup cover to drip down the side. With the last version, I would just use the middle washer, it was easy to remove and side dripping worked great. From my point of view, go back to the old ones and make the cup cover easy to remove. Need to spend more time on easy methods to clean the wicks to get rid of wick burning and jucie buildup on the wicks.

I dunno, I guess I'm in the minority. I love these things. I've always filled CE2s with syringes and 20ga needles, whether I've removed the seals or not. The only time I ever have a problem with them is when I try to vape them too soon after filling. They need a good 10 minutes or so to make sure the wicks are saturated. I use 70PG/30VG juice.
We may be the minority, but you are not alone. I have only filled 2 of my 5, but I am loving them. The first one I messed up a little by pulling the seal out instead of lifting it, so it is gurgling ever so slightly from time to time. The second I have done many refills on and not one drop of juice has leaked, gurgled or spit. It is still limited experience, but I'm happy so far.

The first one also had no leaks or gurgles at all before I pulled the seal.

Oh, and I have not needed to mod or fiddle at all. It has been a great out of the box vape for me.

A handy tool for Fluxo users to invest in is a dental scaler. I have one with a short 90 degree hook on the end. Instead of pulling the cup seal out by pulling on the nipple, I insert the dental pick down into the fill slots, and gently lift the seal out. You just have to be careful not to hook the wicks. I used to use the same tool for removing the older cup seals that had the tiny fill holes.

Ditto. Or if you prefer the ghetto route(no intense offended), just straighten out a paper clip, grip it a couple of mm from one of the ends with a pair of needle-nose pliers and bend it into a tiny hook. Works for me.

Goodbye ce2's, hello phoenix. Been using them all day and I'll never get another ce2.

Deadguy, I am curious to get more details to your statement above. I got a packet of the Flux Supremos and I really like them. Fairly easy to fill, very easy to clean (although I need to figure out a better cleaner than water, as I still tasted the nasty Swedish Fish Imitation that I pulled out of it), good vapor, decent TH, flavor is ok.

Have you tried the supremes and what do you like more about the phoenix over the CE2 please?

Thanks for your input!

I simply dripped along one side until it was full. I use 50/50 juice and had no issues. The clean up was a breeze, as it comes apart really easy. The refill, however, is a little temperamental. Make sure that the side you are not dripping into is not covered in juice or clogged in any way:)

you do need to remove the silicone cap if you drip onto the side. these didnt wick for me, i kept getting dry hits very often with 65pg/35vg juice. the flavor and vapor was good when the coils were soaked. the phoenix 1.5ml carto performs flawlessly until the last drop. no dry hits and awesome awesome vapor and throat hit.

lol, you and me both, and safety pins. Got them on desks, in drawers, in every compartment of my backpack, and in the car, and sometimes I drop one in my pocket on the way out the door. I hate being stuck someplace without a tool in sight to get a washer out if I need to.

Many of us use Everclear for cleaning. If it's not available to you, vodka also is commonly used; and it's cheaper than Everclear.

Don't have any dry enough to glow at this point but i did notice a good bit of variability as to how evenly dispersed across the cup the coil windings were. Took a straight pin and evened out the coils as best i could on the one that was on the fence and it seems to have improved it to usable. This may however have exceeded my tinkering threshold lol. Ordered an adapter and some phoenixes (using 808's) and will hope for better luck.

cheers.

I have tried the supremes. They are a HUGE step backwards from the deluxes. They flat out don't work out of the box.

For starters they work right out of the box. At least 4 out of 5 do. They are just as easy to fill as the ce2. The 1 out of 5 that doesn't work right out of the box is easily modded compared to the supremes. That thin silicone cap that sits directly on the coil and burns before trimming it off, is flimsy and very easy to rip, if you trim the wick slots too much they flood. Trimming that inner ring is just a huge PITA. I'm not graceful or delicate, I don't feel a product should come brand new and NEED to be modded. Mod something to make it better, great, mod something just to make it acceptable, no. That product should not be sold. Ruin that cap and the cart is all but ruined. The tube that fits into the driptip on the ce2, terrible addition to the line. It rips easily, gets pinched closed if you don't put the tip on exactly. Juice at 2/3 on a ce2? Tilt your head back and fill you mouth with juice. The phoenix has none of these problems. Just fill and vape. Not to mention MiT/ST is a shady company and tries to rip people off with false advertising and bad products. Without modding a supreme it flat out doesn't work. Just dry hit after dry hit. Why would I want to mod every single cart and risk ruining it because of cheap manufacturing and false advertising? The only thing I like about the ce2 is a sturdier tube, the phoenix is very durable but the ce2 tube seems indestructible.

Need any more reasons?

If anyone has gotten rid of the silicon nipple, replaced it with a flat seal, and fluffed their wicks properly, and given it at least a full fill up/vape, and still having issues, please get at me, I want to help, PM or in here.

I swear by these things, and almost take it personally when they don't work for people. I've spent a few months tearing them apart and rebuilding them in every which way, I'd probably go back to analogs without them lol.

But the first step is to take all the measures above. I don't care for or about the nipples plugs (no offense to bad), get rid of them if you can't get them to work for you with the mods in this thread.

Its important to keep these different issues separate, as they have separate fixes:

1) I took it out of the box and 20 mins in it tastes like crap; I hate this, so I opened 3 more and had the same problem

2) I took it out of the box and taste burning silicon no matter what I do with the plug

3) I took it out of the box and get muted flavor, I've only vaped it half way empty

4) I've vaped it entirely through, fluffed the wicks, replaced/modded an appropriate seal, and STILL now I'm getting burnt hits/no flavor

Number 4 is rare, and a challenge I am happy to help you take up...

I loved the deluxe, it was great but, the supreme is crap. Now there is a new option and the phoenix is supposed to be coming in top coil as well. Can't wait to try them. I like the bottom coil, less juice dumps on my tongue.

Thanks Deadguy, those are great reasons to like the phoenix and I think I will order me a box. One question, who is MiT/ST? I thought these two products were only available from GotVapes.com?
