Hi nebulas,,,I tried this and got a mouthful of juice. I seem to have a seal on my drip tip, it doesn't seem to work though!

See how the Ceramic Cup Slot is about Twice as long as it is Wide? This Usually where you get your leaking from.

If you Fluff Up the Wick around the Cup Slots, it can help it from Leaking. It might Not Cure It. But it also Might.

yea it looks like in his pic he has the wicks pulled up to cover the entire wick slot and its keeping it from leaking. i personally have not had a whole lot of luck doing it like that but i also didn't have any troubles with the original seals lol

Did you pull the ceramic cup up a little bit before inserting your drip tip?

Heres another pic of my drip tip. This is a pic of the bottom. I have several of the tips but I always gotten them from the same place. Maybe my drip tips have a smaller hole in the bottom than others?

remember we talked about fluffing the wick? or did I forget to tell you? LOL anyway, that's what it should look like, just be gentle you can tear them apart

yea they come apart easy. i never was able to fluff it enough to effectively fill the entire slot. but i never had any real wicking issues so i always used the original seals (before the black ones) and used a syringe to fill. only thing i ever did was sometimes remove the inner ring that goes into the cup.

yep, fluffing adds an edge for me, but its not as major as getting the right seal going. keep in mind I'm always using 50-75% VG so the tiny advantage of fluffed wicks makes a significant difference for me. With high PG it doesn't seem to matter as much. funny enough, frayed and thinned out wicks also work better with high VG, but i'm not suggesting anyone take a razor to their wicks. Its one of many reasons why fluxos just get better with age, the wicks get torn up naturally

FWIW I've been rebuilding my fluxos with cotton yarn and stainless steel mesh and they work at 110% like this, I might get one dry hit per 1.8 ml regardless of whether I tip or vape horizontal. silica sucks!

I think the reason why one is working and one isn't is my fluxos for some reason have created a vacuum in the darn thing. When I went to clean it I had to stick a paperclip past the ceramic cup to get the juice to come out. It was still a vacuum once I got it put back together but I had noticed my tube wasn't all the way down and when I pushed it the rest of the way on it took the vacuum effect away and started flowing like a river. I don't think the drip tip or fluffing the wicks has anything yo do with it IMO but that's just what I experienced.

Here is a video that Bad made and he shows you how to fluff the wick. Keep in mind that he is talking about the previous version of the fluxos so ignore all the stuff he mentions about the 3 seals. The part where he shows you how to fluff the wick is exactly the same for the Supremes. You can just skip to 3:43 in the video to see him talk about the wick.

gents no I'm using the SS mesh straight up, and the 100% cotton yarn from michaels straight up.

the wicking action is unbelievale compaed to fighting with silica. I'm not quite at the point where I'm going to pull the silica out of a new fluxo, but I wait eagerly for the time to come when I don't feel so bad pulling that frayed wick out and replacing it

Been doing the same with my stardusts as well; eager to do it to my pheonix cartos soon

if you're interested just stop by michaels and get the 100% white cotton yarn, its sugar and cream brand (don't get the SCENTED one). 2.99 for a lifetime supply. Just boil to be safe, dry, and use a whole strand of it. You can work the fluxo wick out gently so as to not disturb the coils. Then wind up the cotton yarn really tight, dampen the end of it, and twist/thread it through. Grab the end out of the opposite side with needle nose pliers or tweezers, and pull it through. Fill and vape

Did this with stainless steel mesh today, works like dynamite, didn't have to unsolder/resolder anything. Just don't wreck the coil

Turns out I had read a few posts in that thread when it first started. At the time it didn't look like a safe playground for the uninitiated(that would be me) and I never followed it afterwards. I'll give it another look now though. I've got a few CE2's with burned out wicks in a drawer. Might be fun to play with until I get frustrated.

OMG... The current wicks release micro slivers into our lungs? That's what asbestos does, and folks get *really* bad lung cancer from it!

NOT good, definitely not good. I wonder if that only happens with burnt wicks or with all of them... DIY wicks are in the very, very near future for me. I didn't quit smoking to get lung cancer from these wicks...

Cotton does sound promising, the only thing that concerns me is keeping it sufficiently wet. I'd imagine once burnt even a little, it would be unusable.

The initial post of that thread scared the poop out of me...
