It's been awhile since this post got any action... hmmm, I am still loving my shifu spec stock ... and I really like talking about them as they seem to still be the best deal out there.
A few things I've noticed about these atomizers:
1. the "shifu" designation is no longer on the site (?) guess I'll have to go and verify that but last couple times on site, didn't see it whereas it was before.
Now it says -
Vapage AMG Hybrid Bottom Feeder (2-pack)
The Hybrid BF 1.5ohm and 2.0ohm Atomizers have been up-dated with our new Pro Spec Slant Coil to give the great flavor and hit you like, but the new design is significantly more robust, and more stable than before. Not only does it hit like a freight-train with larger clouds than ever, but the new design helps prevent premature death of the coils, hot-spots, and more consistent wicking.
We listened--we made changes--keep vaping friends!

*you know, for some reason I thought "slant coil" meant it was slanted at an angle vertically, like slightly turned down on one end... but DUH, i think it means the coils are slanted in one direction, like a word in italics...
hmmm, wonder how that changes things....
Anyway they do seem to last and last...

I was getting a couple of pm's from someone who seems had to do with the design of these .... forgot his name;;;; oh yeah-- skinny !! the "vaping shifu"...

OK skinny, here's a question, now that i've bought a ton of these, they are only the one's designated B/F no? I got them anyway for non b/f PV's too; but since the AMG Hybrid Uni is so similar, why aren't they the "slant coil" design hmmm?

btw, I know that for me these shifu are just as good if not better than the Aero hybrid... I'm vaping both at moment for a good comparison, but up to now, yeah, they seem like similar design, same great results.
I really don't know why these aren't the only thing vapers buy anymore... they're just that good... much more consistent than my high end RBA's (but that might just be me...:)

Did you have any of the old ones to look at? If you do then you can see where the "slant coil" designation came from. The non-hybrids have a wick/coil that goes straight across the inside metal cylinder, side to side. Like this |---|

The hybrid coil is on a slant.....it goes from one side of the cylinder wall to the other side, but at a slant.| / |

Hard to find the right keys on keyboard :) but you get my drift. Oh wait, just after I try to do caveman writing, here's photos:
Old & New & Now (last one looks like what i have)

The older ones also had less wraps in the coil and they were further apart. The Shifu is more loops of wire and also very close together.

I hope I haven't misreprented the photos, I got them on web--looks like maybe the slant concept went thru more than one stage of development?

What I don't know is why the 2.5ohm isn't designated as Pro Spec Slant Coil, on the site it describes the 1.5 and 2.0 as having the newest design, but doesn't say anyting about the 2.5, yet the 2.5 is still an "option" when ordering.

What's amazing is that unless people own a vmod product, they really do not know about these attys.......and really, drippers should try them. They are very very good!

wow the older one is certainly "less wraps" !!!
(new = more wraps btw brings more flavor as the juice has a wider surface to vaporize off of)

very interesting.

I still don't know how so many wraps can be LR... the gauge of the wire?

It's Shifu Magic! Don't question, just enjoy............. :D

I still am loving these.. t/h on 1.5 is not harsh, I prefer them just because i use them on my non VV mods, then when they get a littlw worn in, if not done, I put them on VV for a little oomph.
If I had just VV, i'd go with 2.0... not sure if the 2.5s are in or if they are new spec... but these are still the best deal around imo.
One great thing is if you have RBA's these are great to have around for instant gratification.
Not exactly as good as a good RBA flavor, but damn close enough.
Late to the party, but here nonetheless. How is the TH on these puppys? I see now they have 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 ohms -- but if used with a ProVari, does it make any real difference in vape?

If you order the B/F AMB Hybrids separately (not what come in box with XL or Vmod2.0, you are guaranteed to get the new spec slant coil as advertised)... if you order the Universal Hybrid, it will not have the new spec until the old stock is gone... looks like they have a big stock to go through first.
Too bad more don't kmow about these (either B/F or Uni) they are both great atomizers imo... I would always get the new spec if optional.
I have heard that occasionally vapers are being sent the wrong version, has this been sorted out?

Yo thanks, you are helping so much. Thanks A.G, also, for starting this thread. You all have piqued my interest above most other new fangled, most of which I've tried/owned and disliked, juice delivery systems. I am an atty man: not an RBA, genesis, CE#, ViVi type atty, but just an atty. These seem to be advanced enough, but not detached from my preferred approach.

Thanks for the tip on ordering.

I can confirm this. I've been enjoying the Shifu BF slant version on my VMOD and thought I'd pick up some Unis for use on other devices. I just got around to opening them today, and it turns out they're the old version with the three vertical and widely-spaced wraps. That was a little disappointing, but upon further inspection of the Vapage site, it doesn't claim that the Uni has slant coils.

Okay, thanks Tez. I was still uncertain as to which was which.

I ordered two today. Boy o' boy, do I know about that first pop! I have forgotten to drip first a few times when checking ohms and that will never happen again. I can't wait to try these out.

You won't regret it the purchase! I just got mine yesterday and I'm loving them!
