Anyone care to enlighten me as to why there is so much ProVari bashing? One example is price. So many times I've read the ProVari is very expensive blah blah blah, while in the next thread I'm reading about another mod selling for significantly more without any mention of price. I don't get it. I feel one should purchase within a personal comfort zone and not a penny more. Why bash a mod because you can't afford it or don't feel comfortable spending it's asking price. It's a mystery to me.

I got mine in march. I went from an MVP to a provari; and, for me it was a huge purchase. However it was my way of rewarding myself for quitting cigs and forcing myself to not be able to afford any more cigs at the same time. I hadn't gotten on ECF until 2 weeks before I made the purchase; so, I had no idea there was so much animosity towards them. All I knew was I wanted something durable and accurate. The one and only
"Baditude" had responded to a post I put up about looking to upgrade from an MVP; and, sent me some info and links. It gave my first case of shinyitis. Then i put up a post about how much I liked it after I took my first hit; that post, gave me my first public scolding for being a horrid ower of a pro-thingy.

To finally end my diatribe and answer your question. I don't know for certain. From what the vets have said, it's from when provari first hit the market they were the priciest out there; and, became a status symbol or something. I guess they never really shook that image. Personally I think it's because no one has been able to replicate the formula. Yeah some are almost just as accurate but not quite, nor durable. Some are more powerful but can't down regulate, or, stay as accurate at every point. Some are just as durable: but, either not as accurate or more powerful.
When you have a product that fits so many peoples preferences; and, fills so many requirements you're bound to have haters; weather that's because it's out of someone's price range, or jealousy because someone spent twice as much money on a product that failed to make them happy, who knows. The science and numbers back up the provari- fits the power demand of most, pinpoint accuracy and takes a beating.
But, some want more power (I would be apposed) some prefer mechs(I'm enjoy mine at times). Its a simple case of everyone has preferences and a need to complain about something. So let's hate on the pthingies. But no matter what you do, don't hate on anything else out there; that would be mean.

Well I think that people can have very strong opinions. I got a Provari, and do love it I must admit, but don't bash people for whatever they use. I am glad I waited because I got it in the classifieds because I couldn't afford it new. I started with an ego, then overpaid for a Vamo then the MP2 and they all are good in their own ways. I think that if it keeps you off cigarettes then it's the right thing. I have preferences and I like the VV. I tried a mechanical but I don't want to rebuild things. I clean my clearomizers and change the filters but I don't have the need to worry about using the mechanical wrong. I am keeping it because it is very nice to look at. I think my next will be another Provari.

Long answer but I think it is because, despite the price (which is cheaper then a lot of others), it is popular. The others seem to come and go. Plus it hasn't been cloned and hopefully won't be. I think that when people can get something for a lot cheaper they equate it to be better, clone or not.

I know and it's VERY irritating. So when I was looking to buy my first and posted a question about a ProVari, I basically ignored every single person who bashed it without owning one. Why would anyone listen to crap being said when a person never owned one before? Makes zero sense.

Ummm rainbow heaven cloned it just saying.
But you can see the inaccuracies in the clone if you look closely

When it came out, it was one of the most expensive batteries on the market. Hence, bashing. Then other batteries came out with features like a puff counter, option to use VV or VW, better display that were cheaper, so more bashing. Now that sub-ohming and making big clouds is in vogue, there's another reason to bash.

I didn't know that but I think I would rather have the original. Cheaper is not always better.

Without a doubt!!!
I'm ok with high quality clones of mechs, RBAs and RDAs; but, I would not buy a clone with electrical components. I came close with the HANA clones; that was until I did 10 minutes of research. Besides there are only 2 companies whose clones I will buy from now on. To me it's; because, not much can really go wrong with those, no board to break, no wires that can be under-rated, no solder errors, or epoxy. So long as the material is high grade and the machining done well, a clone mech or RBA should be just fine; at least that's been my experience thus far.

Thanks everyone .. some really good thoughts here. To me, the bashing is just plain ridiculous if the person doing the bashing does not own or has not owned a ProVari. Entirely different story if one speaks from experience .. I may not agree, but I will respect that opinion.

Opinions are just that... Opinions.
The best part is when you ask why, that opinion exists and to back up the argument with facts.

This makes an awful lot of sense to me.

Lots of it depends on how one wants to vape. There's pluses and minuses on every device.
