On my Vaporshark DNA200, I get into "temp protect", or better meaning, my set temperature, which is around 475f., with the watts set even as low as 20, so I normally just leave it at 25, as going higher serves no real purpose.
5 to 8 seconds. Unkamen wire. I just brush it and rinse 2 times. Wick and vape. How long did you fire that for? Because with several different wires that I've tried and pulsed at higher wattages they only form a slight amount of white ash. Where did you get your wire?
The titanium I get always has a dull grey look and if I pulse it at low wattages it does exactly what yours does. It's just different polishing steps that some companies do that makes the ti have the shiny look. I've tried several other brands of ti and I actually prefer my dull grey one over the others. So I believe you have nothing to worry about and I love Lightning vapes it's where I get all my wire from except my titanium because I get it cheaper from other places.Ok, so about this shiny = safe stuff.. I only get my Titanium from Lightning Vapes. It's listed as Ti Surgical Grade 1. It always comes on the spool dull and grey. I read that the appearance of the Ti just has to do with the manufacturing and polishing process. Is it possible that the Lightning Vapes Ti comes with this unstable Ti oxide layer already present on the wire for some reason?? I rarely dry-burn my Ti builds but when I do they immediately go to a yellow and then blue stage. I never see a shiny metallic or silver stage in there...
d-orbital chemistry!! Gotta love it!There's always a variation in oxygen content with all of the oxide species being present depending on how many millimicrons deep one measures. The oxygen diffusion rate and the solubility of oxygen in metallic titanium are such that eventually as one goes deeper into the substrate there will be a noticeable tendency for the alpha (hexagonal close packed crystal structure) to be more and more stabilized and somewhat more brittle than the titanium metal with low oxygen content with no oxide as such present at all. This is all metallurgical gobbldygook for non metallurgists but the bottom line is that nothing bad happens with titanium in normal vaping and it provides an excellent totally safe vape in my opinion and the opinion of many others who use it regularly.

Too hot.The break in is about 7-8watts power mode bump it a few layofff bump it a few more till blue color.i go to 10watts next with longer pulse stop do it again taking my time until I get a glow .Usually may be one coil at a time retighten post screws and adjust alignment if needed. Then pulse and slightly squeese coil thats not heating as much.Take your time with Ti and first burn inside out for both I'm done.No extra work on it.Set your temp lower by 100 degrees faranheit than Kanth. and work it up to desired. The lower temp works great for Ti adjust power as necessary. It seems to work great for me.Just my 2 centsSweet Spot Vapors Ti wire - ...?
Sorry for derailing this discussion a bit, but this is still regarding the general topic of this thread...
I saw some positive youtube reviews about this wire a few weeks back and ordered it (I saw comments claiming it is TI Gr2 since then though), and it finally arrive a few days back. I just got back from overseas trip and needed to make new coils so decided to try to use it (also downloaded .csv files from Sweet Spot that seem to confirm it is close to grade 2 regarding it resistance properties). Making coils with it is great, but when I started to oxidize it, the .... hit the fan - setting it at 220C (~430F) on DNA200 seemed ok-ish but seemed the wire might be a bit hot; I then put it at 600F setting which made the wire glow bright orange (rough guess is ~1700F color of pure titanium; rutile-like layer was clearly visible even after a single 20sec burn)
I repeated this on at least 5 coils so I either had a really bad coiling day or Sweep Spot wire has some pretty extreme impurities. (things returned to normal when I switched back to my regular Ti gr1 wire)

You folks with DNA200 devices should really try making a custom DRY BURN PROFILE. Would make your life easier and perhaps safer.
Titanium wire, vaping and safety
I do have dry burn profile, but my point was that wire was acting up even with regular Ti Gr1 and Ti Gr2 profiles, and TCR for Sweet Spot Vapors Ti wire seems to be much lower than for those Ti grades.
I've noticed there is a break in time also and it really depends with each build i do. I think your dryish hits are possibly coming from the coil being 2mm id. I had the same issue with my wife's billow v2 nano, I did 2mm id instead of 2.5 id and the wicking couldn't keep up fast enough. It didn't give really dry hits since it was a titanium build in TC obviously but it just got a little cottony towards the last third of the puff. With the ti fused claptons I've been doing dual coils in rdas with 28g core and single coil in rdas with 26g core. I'm interested to see how the cat track coil is going to be but it may be a day or two til that happens. One of our sweetest cats has taken a turn for the worst and it's been difficult around the house so life is on hold for a while.![]()
Awww mateI'm so sorry to hear about the feline! Major cat lover here. Feel for you! Hope situation improves

Dont worry about the post.Im sure we all understand. Really sorry to hear that news. I know its easy to say from outside but probably the best decision for her. Doesnt make it any easier though. Been there Im afraid so I have an idea how you are feeling I thinkThank you for that. We've made a family decision to put her down. She had cancer of the mouth and these last days have been really hard. We were lucky enough to find a vet who came to our house to make this easier for all of us. I know this doesn't belong in this thread or really any thread on here but I just had to vent a little.
It's weird that you mention the rainbow bridge because it was one of the poems my wife picked out. She had to explain to me about the meaning of the rainbow bridge but it made me think about a lot of things to say the least. I've always loved dogs but for some reason I've always gravitated towards cats and they gravitate towards me. Thanks everyone, you've all made my night much better.Cat people here too @Rockwell222, nothing worse than a terminal kitteh.
We have had to send two sweet princes to the Rainbow Bridge before their time, completely heart wrenching.
