Happy to be the original source for that  .
I would LOVE to rejoice but don't quite know how to, without halfway comprehending what I did/wrote/insinuated by writing o_O

But, I'll try hard, look: :pop:

@Katdarling will explain further, later. Unless it hits you like an anvil first.

The faster you charge a battery the more heat/stress it experiences. I charge my 18650's at 0.25A.

This probably isn't the best time to admit that I shoot for 1amp, but sometimes have to settle for .5.

I flip my batteries about every two years, just to be safe. Out with old, in with the new. But the old ones always seem to be in fine shape. I just don't want to take chances, especially since I charge on the high side.

Typically, the safe charging limit with these types of cells is 1 C rate ... for a 2000mAh battery (C), 2A. However, the faster you charge, the lower the number of charge cycles the battery will remain useful for so to maximise the overall battery life, I would stick to 500mA.

Look up the battery specs for confirmation.

If for some reason I was in a hurry I would switch my charger to 1A but if there is no rush I keep it at 0.25A.

All well and good, and fully understand.

Change though, unlikely. Stubborn, moi. And all-too-often in a rush.

I think the original question was about charging the battery using the built in Micro USB charger. I could be wrong.
That was what my replies were based on. 2 amp charge for an 18650 should be ok in an external charger. If they do not get too hot it is fine.
Many new mods use over 1 amp of input current thru their internal charging circuit. If you only use a 1 amp USB adapter for those problems can arise. Cooked adapter or cooked charging circuit in the device. Also be sure that you re using a heavy duty USB cable. One for a cell phone may not be adequate for a mod.
Also if the mod needs 1 amp for charging thru the micro USB port and you only use a 1 amp adapter then it will not last and could potentially damage the mod charging circuit when it fails. Not a good idea to run anything at 100% all the time.
I amp limit the charging speed of almost every device I own. Especially my iPad and phone to prolong the batteries. But then again I'm not using low grade power supplies to do this.

I would get a good quality 1A usb power supply and let the internal charger do its thing.
What about using adapters ment for phones 1-2A?

I have a ton of adapters laying around.

I'm also thinking about buying 2-3 more tanks (clones), is this a good idea? Is the clones worth buying? I'm thinking about fast tech, they got aerotank mega clones for 10 dollars. I'm gonna look for other as well. But it got good ratings and people say it is as authentic.

If they claim to be good for 2 amps they should be ok. I do say should.
