And women tend to suffer from bone density degradation (leading to falls) than men do.

Judging from my own folks, males are just as prone to falls... but far less likely to break something when they fall, so they can get up and carry on, even if bruised; with a woman though, whose bones have softened, it's hard to get up and carry on with a broken hip!

Works for me -- the housecleaning part anyway. My mom and my aunt know that I mostly can't be bothered with housework... and they're both neat freaks, so messy houses distress them... so they just don't show up. My mom is mostly house-bound anyway, and my aunt is as much a loner as I am. And I have zero siblings, so no problems there. I would hate having the kind of family that just shows up, uninvited and unannounced.

Andria, it took me the longest time and well after my girls left home to figure out no one was going to "eat off my floors"! Think I traumatized them too since every visit I make to their homes which are far away involves them cleaning for a week before I get there and they're exhausted.

I just came across this site if anyone is interested. I really like wood box mods. These are wood wraps for your mods. I think they look really sharp. I also think the price is not bad considering what other wraps go for. Here's their site.

http://wudbx.com/

I just can't see spending $25 for a skin for a mod that only cost me $25 to start with! :D

What's really funny is that since my mom is now unable to do her own housework, she pays my husband and me to come and clean her house monthly... and I just can't believe that this woman who once did have floors you could eat off, now is such a slob. The clothing articles I find laying around, I inquire, dirty, clean? She looks and says oh it's clean enough, hang it up -- this is the woman who trained me that if something was too wrinkled to be worn, may as well just throw it in the laundry. I'm just glad she fell out with her previous housecleaner, so we got offered the job. It pays my VISA card bill. :D

Thank you all for the kind words, means a lot. I'll keep them in mind :)

Life has a way of smacking you in the face. Lots of wonderful folks here ready to give you a quick laugh, a kind or encouraging word and its just generally a safe space to just be you.

Take care of yourself ......Thinking of you :)

Women are more likely to become the frail elderly. Men are more likely to die suddenly. Take a look at the gender disparity among nursing home residents. It is a stereotype, though. Men might more likely accept a dog trained to alert others.
Granny flats and trailers are a good alternative. Zoning ordinances can be a problem with trailers.

That and the alcohol laws. I thought Norway had advanced beyond those antiquated standards.

The chances of me outliving my husband are highly unlikely. His heart is in excellent condition and since I had a heart attack (no 1 killer of women) I have a lot of damage and three stents. Angina is a problem so I have sublingual nitro around at all times. Then I had cancer surgery back in 2013. I wear a medical alert necklace and take 14 medications a day!!! If I sound gleeful about this, it is just because the worse things get, the more I seem to handle stress by laughter! Maybe it's the endorphins?!? I dunno, but it helps me. I am even joining a laughter yoga class that I watched featured on PBS! Soon, I will be part of the Laughing Academy!!!! But the real truth is, I don't want to live without my husband, ever. I'd go NUTS without him!

If the worst happened and I outlived him, I'd get myself a helper monkey!!! And if I found myself in economic straights, I'd teach the filthy monkey to pick pockets!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know right. Two years ago, I was just a regular youth. I went to school in the morning, came back home at 5pm, procastinated every assignment and sat down playing games and looking all over for money to buy another carton of cigarettes at the local "corner store" (actually just a guy on the street selling cigs for half the price), and no other worries. How drastically ones whole life can be changed in such short time...still can't believe it. But I love my daugther and SO, and I do everything for them. Really focusing on my education at the moment being.

Yes, that's what I like about this forum. I feel like I belong here. Thank you :)

My husband has already been informed in no uncertain terms that he must outlive me. The Band Perry says it best... that gravedigger better dig two...

What sleep deprivation can do...I need some sleep. My daughter is almost yhe same, can't sleep alone for a long time, has to sleep while we're holding her.

+ That she was 3,5 months premature and we slept at the hospital for 3 months, unsure whether she'd be alive or not when we came back home again. And having a SO with a very complicated chronic sickness, making it difficult for her to function every day in terms of jobs, house work etc.

On top of this, we're still in our teens trying to make everything go on wheels.

Most of our friends has "left us" and we're pretty much alone in this situation.

And vaping is one of the things which keeps me going.

Sorry for this long, personal post, hope no one got bothered

Not a bother and not too long. Nothing wrong with you and nothing inappropriate. Can you get a sitter from your social services, or is it a ton of bureaucratic paperwork? I can't imagine the stress you all must be under. Try and hang in there. Good thing you are vaping, it saves so much money. Write about your life, because it can only help to release it. I'll be thinking of you guys and hoping you get a break soon.

Although im not married and don't have any kids, I feel just the same way. Feels like yesterday I was still in college, then realizing that was so many years ago... Really does suck when your life is based around a struggle.. Hang in there Bro!!
