@Katdarling that bottom fire button is what kept me from getting some mechs for a long time. But now that I have all these I bought on clearance, I'm finding it isn't anywhere near as big an issue as I thought it would be. These things are really short, even in 18650 mode, because they don't have that regulated board in them. So even though I have small hands, it's not hard at all for me to fire it with my middle finger. But as Eric said, a box mech might be something you'd like better,.

I asked about cartomizers because ecig Charleston had a bunch of them on sale at 5 for 99 cents. I have no idea if they are "good" ones or not, or whether that's a good price. But I've been thinking about getting some of those ever since I saw them.

That is my one big criticism of the Cerotanks. They made them too tall. The airflow ring doesn't need to be that big.
I don't know about that, really. The Cero is heavy...very heavy...there is no denying that. But there is something about the way it's built that is just, well, excellent. I was just experimenting and saw this post and it relates to what I was checking out, so thought I'd relate what "seems" to be my conclusion. At least for now. I have had terrible luck with the Davide tank I recently got. I've put 4 different Aspire coils in it...and all tasted metallic and hot and yuck. (yes, I checked the watts, ohms et al). Currently I have a 1.8 Aspire in my Cerotank that I've been using for six weeks! Heavy use...as in chain vaping. NO kidding. Still tastes great. So, what? Did I happen to put the only "good" Aspire coil I got, out of all the boxes I have, and "just happened" to put it in the Cero and it worked that good?

So..I took a risk and took that 6 week old coil out of the Cero and put one of the coils I'd put in the Davide in. I figured if I killed the good coil, at least it'd had an exceptional run. So, the coil that tasted "metallic, hot and yuck" in the Davide tasted fine in the Cero! Just fine. Strange.

My initial hypothesis: the heavier bases somehow make for a better vape. The GS Air M also has a moderately thick-ish base and I've had exceptional results from it, too. The tanks that have thin little platforms to screw the coils into? They just don't seem to be as good. If they work, the coil starts tasting bad fast. Or else the coil tastes bad from the get go. This is my experience, of course. Maybe not the case for others.

Oh..and my 6 week old coil? I discovered that the grommet/gasket thingy on the pin had semi-rotted and broken. I pulled it off and put a new one from one of the coils I'd rejected from the Davide and it's good as new again!

Sorry this is so long...again. I just was a bit excited about my "findings" and also "fixing" my champion coil!

Maybe not, Rixsta. We've got a vapocalypse on the horizon. I don't think you can have too much gear in that scenario.
Have things got that bad ???? I've been living in a bubble for a few months, dang, I better get me some barrels of VG / PG and Nic.......to the cotton fields I go..now where's that nickel gone..

I have to make a joke out of it because it's just ridiculous and it makes me mad, and that's not good for my blood pressure..

Whoa. Can't "like" that one. Scary stuff.

Some juice just takes longer to "develop flavor". Hope it gets better with time!
It is. But we'll see what happens. The world is just getting crazier every day.

Yes, I'll let it steep for some weeks. But maybe it's just me. Maybe I should just stick with fruity flavors, and unflavored. I really want to enjoy other flavors, but I can't. Bakery, custard, drinks, mix ups etc seems so overrated to me. Most doesn't taste even close to good. Don't know why I even try thise juices. Maybe I'm just too obsessed about liking what others adore.

Puffing away on my watermelon.

Edit: Something I've noticed on this forum, there's nearly no posts without 3+ likes. On other forums, only really good posts or funny posts gets that. Why is it like that on ECF? [emoji14]

I have three classifications of juice.

Good- will keep in stock
Good enough- will finish the bottle but not buy more
No thanks- straight into the box to give away.

Finding a good juice is crucial as everyone's tastes are different. Let them age, I am currently working through some that are approaching 1 year old to get them used up.

I like your post as we are friendly bunch

What, if anything, do you guys like or recommend for a true mech, and are there ANY that don't have the bottom button? Am I just dreaming?

fallenangel2.jpg

Fallen Angel; about $40-ish... though I have to say, I find the side-mount btn at the bottom quite awkward; it's a very good quality mod, from EHPro, and telescoping so you could use any size battery. For side mount btns at the top, there's Poldiak, pretty expensive but I think that doesn't bother you; I hear they're *really great* mods. Also another called the Roller; less pricey than the Poldiaks, more pricey than the Fallen Angel, but no idea if or where they might be available; maybe could find one in the classies?

The Galileo is about $35 (MadVapes); it has the bottom button, but it's a very strong magnet; you can set it down without it accidentally firing. It's also very high quality, Smoktech, and telescoping, so any size battery.

I'm told that Poldiac is no longer being made. Something to do with the economic crisis in Greece. But I would bet that all kinds of good mechs show up in the classies. (I refuse to get verified, myself, I'd be spending too much money. :D )

Well I put that o-ring under the AFC ring primarily so that the thing would stay put when I take the cap off, but I think it does help the leak problem; before I put that o-ring on there, it was a lot worse! But that dome-shaped interior on the cap, great as it is for flavor, just makes the condensed vapor run right back down to the deck, and into the airholes it goes.

I think I may also block off the airhole on the side I'm not using -- I *never ever* dual coil, so that's more air than I really need. The flavor is good enough that I've taught myself to overlook its slightly-too-airy vape, but with that other hole closed off, I think I'd like it better.

Andria

I have an o-ring there too, it helps but I need a larger one. I stick a round toothpick in the air hole to keep the AFC ring in place whilst screwing the top bit on or off. I have one air port blocked with the ever hand round toothpick. :D

You folks really need to look into an Origen Dripper, the V3 is Dome shaped and can be reduced down to a single 1.2mm air hole if needed. Amazing flavor from the Origen, it is designed for a vertical coil but can be build horizontal.

I have an Origen V2 Dripper, it has a nice draw and great flavor. I love the look of it. It's a bit of a PITA to build and the top does not screw on so around the house use only for me. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

I see the airhole on the side, but where's the internal airhole? If it's not directly under the coil, I most likely wouldn't care for it. Also.. it's hard to visualize where/how a coil would go, in that, from looking it sans-coil. Seeing "genesis" in the title of it definitely scares me away from it.

Andria

I'd expect that you would like the vape from an Origen Dripper. I have an Infinite V2 clone. The draw is much tighter than Magma, it is a toodle puffer for sure. It always get highest ratings for flavor. ymmv

Welp, Ms. Orygun, we are in the cartography stage right now. We're mapping out our plans to stock up on coils and vliquid, and with the upcoming BF and Xmas sales, it will be not only tempting, but should be pretty easy.

The Cerotanks are a bit on the heavy side, yes. I see you got the mega. I didn't opt for the mega or the mini because it doesn't have the same wonderful air flow of the V2. The V2 loses possible points for capacity, but I love the size and it's SO easy to refill (unlike say, the GS Airs).

They aren't that bad! It's so funny that that's all I vaped for years, liked them very much, never had a prob!

Sighing right along with ya, Karen. IKV =
This one looks kinda cool. Even has a "collection chamber" for catching drips from a misbehaving atomizer! The button is on the side. Apparently inspired by a popular mod from Greece....

Not that I've tried it or anything. :)

That's odd, maybe just the diff betweem clones... i first tried a kayfun o-ring, but it was too fat, I couldn't get the AFC ring over it, so I tried a clear silicone o-ring that came with *something*, a bit thinner than the black kayfun rings, and that fits, I can get the AFC ring over it, but it's TIGHT, I have a hard time moving the AFC ring at all, so I can unscrew the top cap and the AFC stays exactly where I've set it.

To block the other deck airhole, I figured I'd go ahead and insert a 12ga needle into it, but instead of cutting it cleanly with a dremel's cutting wheel, maybe cutting it off with something that would crimp it closed, some kind of wire cutter or something. That might not make it an airtight seal, but close it off enough that the draw isn't quite so airy. With the 12ga needle in the hole on both sides, it should eliminate the leakage from that source, and the o-ring under the AFC ring is so tight that I think it works pretty well as a leak guard.

The tighter draw, I definitely would like... but the side airhole just isn't optimum for best flavor, there's too much air going hither and yon rather than directly from coil to airhole.
