Just gone a bit mad because I just realised that I have been on this forum for over seven years now. As we Brits would say, "That's nice, dear." It made me think.

If I'd listened to all the folks who told me that Provari was Nirvana then I would've wasted a pile of cash. All you have to do is find out what works for you. If you don't feel nicotine cravings any more, you have won. Searching for the perfect vape/flavour/topper is really neurotic (I know having tried). It wastes a lot of your life.

Remember cigarettes? Pull one out and light it. That's how my current set-up makes me feel. I'm amazed that it works this well- in fact, I'm amazed by it every day. I remember what a used pipe cleaner looked like. I used to inhale that.

"A cigarette is the perfect type of a perfect pleasure. It is exquisite, and it leaves one unsatisfied. What more could one want?" Oscar Wilde

I think we have to be careful about the "unsatisfied" bit. You can end up chasing your tail for no good reason. Just have another vape with what you have.

I have pondered the collecting of vape gear a bit lately and personally I think the reasons are not that simple. I like to try new things, I am not chasing the perfect flavour, or the perfect piece of gear in fact my main setups are the same as a year ago. In my case the additional cash that goes in my pocket from the switch to vaping is there to be played with, so I do.

It's the same with eliquid. I DIY and tinker with new recipes but the all day 4 are the same as 18months ago.

The other thing is that vaping gear is so cheap and accessible now compared the price I paid to start off 4 years ago that I say to myself, why not........

New toys are fine. Why else do we live? If it's a hobby then that's great. For some dinosaurs like me it was about dealing with a nicotine addiction. That comes first for me. For others, it will be shiny stuff. Which is also very cool.

I was gobsmacked at how easily vaping helped me leave a very destructive habit (50-60 a day) and I will never go back. I gave up using ego t's with 650mah batteries so I know that it's not about the device I vape with. For me.... It was a mental flick of the switch and my brain's take on how satisfying vaping was. I also feel a bit sorry for people new to vaping. There are so many choices, and peoples expectations that are way higher than reality. In my early days vaping gear was hit and miss, yet it forced me to understand a lot about how things worked (or didn't). People now a days don't seem to spend that learning time and just move on to the next new thing without quite getting how to make the gear work for you,

Very True, First things first! Make what you have work for YOU to get off cigarettes! @tj99959 signature is probably one of my favorite quotes on here! :)

As Krisma said about "Now a days" is spot on, a lot of new users feel they need to buy 20 devices before it works.. Not taking into account the atty and juice it seems..

I think that the reasons are that simple, but that there is also the huge playground element that comes with it. All those shiny toys - and why not? Much better than burning stuff and inhaling it.
