LMAO there is a snob group for everything!
Nothing snobbish about tube amps...
I don't want anything special, I would be quite happy with a 50th Anniversary McIntosh 275. Would be my end game amplifier.

My first electronics training was on VT's. But back then we put them in cabinets and did not display them ;)
Tubes belong in a cabinet unless you have a pair of mono blocks like the Kronzilla, then the tubes just have to be displayed. :D

I'll take a QSC or Crown I-Tech over tube distortion any day
They fight over that foolishness all the time over on Head-Fi in the Sound Science Fiction Asylum...

The Mac has a THD: 0.05% and for a home system that is perfectly alright by me. :)

I luv looking at these creations but I would get irritated by the rough surface. I can't even do danglies :p
If I wanted to do steampunk, it would be two-dimensional j-wrap. and would be fun, and would feel better.

I can listen to Neil Young for hours on end.

Same here! His melodies get into your head, and will not leave, so beautifully melodic... and if I hear his playing, even if (however unlikely it might be) I don't know the song... I can identify his playing in about 3 seconds. One of a kind. You should read his book, it's really interesting, and well written too.
