I used to love ordering out of magazines. It was so exciting when the items finally arriving. Like Christmas. Once saved enough Cheetoes bar codes to get a Chester Cheetah t-shirt and shorts. I wore those things out too.

Me too. I just love being able to look up ANYTHING AT ALL at 3am. No waiting for morning, no waiting for the library to open, hardly any bother to know "where" to look something up -- google can generally find it, *wherever* it is. :D

And though we fuss about having to wait an extra week for things and the general incompetence of the USPS... I DO NOT want to return to "6 to 8 weeks for shipping and handling." Nor do I want to return to having to find a place to cash a check, or having to physically go to the bank to learn one's balance, or if there are unapproved charges to one's account. I also don't want to go back to having to "balance my checkbook." Doing everything with my debit card means I don't need to.

As do I obviously. However it has created lots of problems in our society. It is also very useful for wasting lots of time.
Wastes less time than going to the library, searching through the card catalog. Even though I enjoyed that every once and a while. :D

I need to 'google' that.
Got my Vivi Nova 3.5's in. Wish I had gotten more at only 1.99 per tank. Drats!

Squonker is a device (mechanical or regulated) which has a juice bottle "inside" the device. An RDA or a carto sits on top. Squeeze (squonk) the bottle to push juice into the atty. Fire as normal. It's dripping for those of us who don't like to take the time to drip :)

ETA - I hope I'm not being presumptuous with this answer..... My apologies if you already know what a squonker is :)

I like all that, but I miss talking to people rather than typing at a screen.

Not me. There aren't many things I hate MORE than having to wait on hold while listening to ear-piercing MUZAK. And there are VERY FEW people I actually WANT to talk to.

There are exceptions, of course -- if I have a problem with my webhosting, I far prefer to call them up and get someone to look at and help me resolve the problem right then, than submitting a trouble-ticket and hoping the recipient is actually literate. With tech things, phone calls are generally better, because you can get thru the whole "I'm a techie and I know all the easy steps and they aren't working" scenario a LOT faster on the phone.

But I sure do wish I could deal with Comcast online, than on-phone, because contrary to what they may believe, people in a filipino call center do NOT actually speak English in any understandable way.

You'll see a cutout (or on the wooden one on the bottom pic - a squonk button) where you squeeze the bottle to feed the juice.

Your atty needs a hole in the contact pin for the juice to flow in to feed the wick.

Oh wow! That's really cool! Maybe I should try something like that. I've been in the vamo rut for 2.5 years. But, I do like my vamo. :)

Yeah one could stumble on other interesting leads while looking thru the card catalog....

That's an aspect of the "new improved" library layout that I find most distressing; used to be, all fiction was shelved based strictly on the first 3 letters of the author's name. Now they have them in categories, then alphebetized. That irks the hell out of me, because in the old layout, I could find just all sorts of interesting reads that it wouldn't have occurred to me to look for -- it was lovely serendipity, to find a truly great book that you wouldn't have thought to look for, but just happened across, because it was next to an author you really liked.

That's pretty much how I found my favorite book of all time -- it was in a box of old paperbacks in my parents' attic, and I was out of books to read and just going nuts, trying to find something to read -- The Hotel New Hampshire, by John Irving. That book is the best book I've ever read, bar none -- a figure in the 10's of thousands, if my raw estimate is any guide.

And I think I found Jane Austen via the libary-serendipity, because her books were right next to some other author I loved at the time, and I'd heard of Pride and Prejudice, so I read it, and laughed my .... off so much that my mother asked what was so funny, and I said "Jane Austen," and she informed me that I was truly weird. But that's one of the funniest books ever written.

Be prepared to build coils. Unless you use a carto (which I've tried on my Smokeless Owl - top pic.) I've ordered the 2nd one - VaporFlask Squonk Clone. That one is regulated where the others are unregulated.
