I just watched the vid on rebuilding coils. It actually doesn't look that difficult provided I get something to assist with pee-poor eyesight and take my med so my hands don't shake.
that and find a cat-free environment in which to practice the art of coil building (and pick up an ohmmeter or multimeter) I go through a lot of coils because i can taste when they start to get gunked up and probably change them out more often than some people do.
I also have insomnia (frequently) and restless legs (pretty much all the time). I'm the opposite of you, however. When my legs are really bad restless they feel like they are freezing! I'll dig up some of my spouse's athletic socks trying to get my feet warm. It helps some. I live in Florida and it's really hot here..plus we have a window A/C that isn't exactly a top performer. But my feet do get cold and that irritates the syndrome thing. When I've had really bad attacks I've even resorted to some compression stockings I got last time I was in the hospital (last March).Cool legs are more quiet than legs that get too warm. A simple painkiller usually helps me sleep when my legs get restless. That, and keeping them cool.
Yeah, but rarely works for me..I feel bad for you all. Are there meds for it?
Dr. gives me clonazepam....I guess it helps. Seems to. Right now I'm in a sort of Medicare no-man's-land with my insurance. Hopefully it can get sorted soon...I'm nearly out of my prescription!I feel bad for you all. Are there meds for it?
Holding a HexOhm in black might helpYeah, but rarely works for me..
Which coils, NoLo? Small ones like Kangers are small and a tad fiddly, but not hard. True rebuildables are easier, with the advantage (among many advantages for a lot of us) that you don't need to recoil every time you clean. Just snip out the old wick, dry burn the coil, put in a new wick and it's good as new.. Depending on flavor and gunkiness, I may do that after just a tank or two (4.5 - 9 ml in my KFs). Quick and easy, and wick is cheap. (I picked up the 500' box from Sally's
)
We have 2 cats atm, one a long hair, and I have no problems with hair. Of course, you don't want them playing with a coil of kanthal...
Lighted magnifiers can be helpful, and Harbor Freight has one for soldering that works well. LED lights, weighted base, inexpensive. Some prefer magnifier glasses. In any event, a good strong light is important.
He caused loads of trouble and ran off for a while until the dust settled lolWhere have you been @DPLongo22 ?? lol
Restless legs (actually kind of restless body now) is how my Parkinon's tremor first manifested itself. I've been taking ropinirole for it for about 10 years. Since my other symptoms have progressed, though, I had to add sinemet, and now the restlessness is back with a vengeance. A new drug called rotigotine helped a lot, until I ran out of the free samples. I have prescription insurance, but the stuff would still cost me $30/day!
Now I'm taking time released ropinirole, but it's still not covering me at night. Gotta call the doctor.
Anyway, I spent the weekend concocting ejuices. Capella's cantaloupe is really good at 15%!
