Which is why I prefer using clapton coils.

I think of Clapton coils as a backwards/bandage fix. Someone noticed that they got better venting from under thick wire by wrapping the thick wire in thin wire. This works somewhat but you still have and have compounded the original efficiency problem of too much mass.

The simple solution to increase venting is to ditch the thick wire altogether and just use the thin wire.

Seems like Clapton coils would vaporize the eliquid on the underside of the coil and heat it more as it passes thru the openings in the clapton coil.
But they would also be prone to gunk plugging up those openings in the coil?

That sounds logical specially if you're using a coil Gunking liquid.

I have not had any problems with the claptons gunking up.
I think that would be more of a liquid problem than the clapton coil.

My SO likes colors. So she asked me if it was possible to put 1-2 drops of food grade coloring to the juice, to make it look "cool".

I've never thought about that. But it is doable?

Not advisable -- it's bad enough that we vape artificial flavors -- now you want to throw in artificial colors? to something inhaled straight into the lungs?

I guess I'm just suspicious of being TOO happy... it feels like hubris, like taunting the gods/fates/karma to throw something nasty my way. That seems to have always been the pattern. I was an optimist when I was young; life has taught me, painfully, that pessimism is more realistic, and Murphy is right -- whatever can go wrong, usually will.

Smoking Bull makes it with or without the dye, so I think Obi is using the blue version for better effect.

Hawk makes more sense. I didn't listen that closely and I didn't go back and double check.

It's doable. A few years ago I got on a kick of putting a drop of blue food coloring in my juice. Kind of "went with" my DIY menthol which I'd named "Glacier Mist". I got tired of it after a short time. Don't really know if it's "bad" for you or not. Some expert here will pipe up with some info on that. I'm still here and it didn't make me sick. Not sure I'd recommend it...but it is doable.

430 SS 28 gauge seems ok to me, Unkamen has it for $10/200ft. Worth it.

I went with cotton tonite as I was being Lazy and just wanted to test the wire really, No sidetaste at all.

Basically the same except a chimney is wicked on the outside.
