I just want something that can give a good vape (and not an evod or similar!), SS/chrome, is small (one battery), can take a beating (like taking with on hikes, camping etc, sometimes you lose it on a stone.. Don't wanna bring my original mods out there).

Never heard of kick ring or 18500 mode. Mind giving a really short definition? And chi you is a mech, right?

Vapez

Yes, Chi You is one of those mechs that if you use the Kick ring, you can use an 18650 with a Kick -- it adds a bit of length to the tube to allow the Kick.

The Chi You Kick ring fits the Vamo threads perfectly, so instead of using the extension tube that comes with the Vamo to allow use of an 18650, you use the Kick ring and can use the shorter 18500 battery -- because Vamos are REALLY LONG -- my Vamo in 18500 mode is the same length as my sigelei Zmax in 18650 mode.

If you want it to last, get the stainless -- I have the "black chrome" (gunmetal) because that's what I really wanted, but it does tend to wear off, and get scratched -- one reason I didn't want to use the extension tube anymore is because it's got a huge deep long scratch on it.

I haven't had any problems with the threads on my Vamo, and I was using a locking cartotank with it, so i had to remove it everytime I refilled. Just lucky, I guess. Especially considering I only paid $17 for my Vamo -- it seems to be one of the ones that are holding up well.

As far as an indestructible mech mod. The Ehpro New Yorker I got is heavy duty as heck. The tube walls are very think, the sucker is solid brass.
Now other Manhattan clones I have seen reviews on not too good, bad brass, threads, etc. The FU Hatton is pretty poor from what I have seen so is the Futan.
From all the reviews I have watched the Ehpro New Yorker is better quality than the Manhattan it was cloned from.

Only thing is it does not have a lock ring on the bottom so I would not throw it in a backpack with a battery in it.

I always found that mechs needed to be treated differently to regulated. Not better or worse just a different routine. How you put them down and lock them, how to maintain them, how to get the buttons working smoothly (because you don't have the clicky feedback)how to use them etc. Just takes a different understanding....even with a kick.

I see. Yes, I'll definetely get stainless steel.

But I'm unsure. I'm all open for anything that is cheap (but good enough!), SS or other material that can take a beating. If I had to chose right now, I'd choose chiyou. But I haven't looked at the alternatives yet, so I have far from decided.

Should i get one of those volt readers as well?

I would look at things a bit differently. For outdoor able to take the Knocks but not need all the additional bits or knowledge I would get a provari v2.5. They are so much cheaper and they take all the punishment you can grow at them. No need to change your routine too much.

Provari is so expensive!

I was thinking about $20-30

In case anyone is unaware of it.. there's a sweepstakes going on right now to win a Provari Radius -- Radius Sweepstakes - Win the New ProVari Radius -- only way I could afford a P'vari, to win one! And I like this Radius better than I've liked the looks of any of their other mods.

The Fuhattan's I have are pretty well made, better than the Original AmeraVape Manhattan. That said, there are various versions and it is hard to tell some of them apart, especially since there are clones of the original Ameraclone Fuhattan.
I do want to grab a couple EHPro ones myself..

If you get a Chi You, make sure you can get Magnet kits for the switch. The original Spring switch is pretty janky, at least my clone one is.

I cannot find any more Epro ones. The 2 brass ones I got for 3.99 each are nice, super smooth threading no flaws in the brass, nice thick walls and smooth mag button. I had to hone down the top pin to get it to all fit right with a STM on top. but I have more pins so I can custom hone them for different attys.
My Ehpro ones are plain with no markings whatsoever on them.

I can find them, but it would be around $40, but that style mod, every variation of it is getting bought up fast! You guys were smart to order those! At least I got a couple of the good made Fuhattans stashed away! :)

Edit* Madvapes has the Copper Brass one left for around $40 online.

Not interested in a copper one. Makes my hands smell. The brass on I have been using has developed a nice patina from handling much nicer looking that a copper one gets very fast.

I meant Brass, I edited my post. The only way I like Copper, is if it has the Carbon Fiber wrap!

I have an EHPRo Origin in brass that is a solid mech. Threading is smooth, as is the switch. Came with the kick section too. Not sure I've seen any around lately. I bought mine a couple of years ago. Worth a look if you can find one cheap enough.
