Saw a vaper today. First time in a month. There's said to be 50-100k vapers in Norway. I live in the capital and have maybe seen a vaper 10-15 times in my life.

Vapez

I got so excited to see a vaper (that I had not started vaping) in my local supermarket. I accosted him and jabbered on like a mad woman. :p

I thought I ought to let you all know that the doctor does want me to report to the hospital for blood transfusions and some tests...but I talked him into letting me wait until Monday. For one thing: I don't want be admitted over the weekend. One doesn't get the same attention on weekends. For another thing: I need to line up some meals for my hubby and son. Yes...they could fend for themselves, but I worry that they will overspend in the process (some men don't seem to grasp the concept of being thrifty). So I am going to the grocery with them tomorrow and we'll line them up some food they can cook themselves for a few nights. Sunday I'll do my final packing (PVs, supplies and personal stuff) and then I'll go in Monday morning. I'm sorry I won't be there for hubby when he goes to see his new specialist Tuesday, but he'll be all right.

Thanks again to all those who wished me well and are praying for me and stuff! I'll be around this weekend, then...well. Might be away a few days!
So very sorry to hear this. Sending armloads of healing thoughts.

I live in a major city in north Florida and while I know there are vapers here (there are several shops around) I've only seen someone vaping "in the wild" maybe 3 or 4 times, max,in over 4 years! I really would have expected to see more around. But vaping is definitely known around here, which leads to a (semi) amusing story.

Yesterday I went to the ER due to a low blood count (and orders from my doctor). We expected I might need a transfusion and that the hospital would probably do some tests. While waiting in the little ER exam room for the doctor to come and do whatever he needed to do...I sneaked a quick vape. I tried to be slick and kind of hold my bag up close to my face with the PV inside. Well..I'd no sooner gotten a good lungful when the nurse sailed in the door and saw me! I quickly dropped the PV down in my purse and tried (foolishly) to wave/blow the vapor away. She kind of gave me a wry grin and shook her head and said "Oh NO you DIDN'T!" and sort of sniffed the air. But then she turned away and didn't say anything else. Busted! But I got to thinking that she didn't report me, and seemed more amused than angry. Maybe she was sniffing to see if I was vaping Bavarian Creme or Lemon Custard or something....?

Vaping is NOT allow on hospital grounds. I was being a bad bad girl.

Oh yeah...guess I'd better update you all! Thank you all for the positive thoughts and prayers. They must have worked, because when they tested my blood again in the hospital they said that my blood count had gone UP a bit (due, I'm sure, to the Ferrous Sulphate the doctor put me on a couple of days ago) and that because there were no other symptoms I would not need a transfusion or any further treatment at this time. So they released me!

When they pulled the needle from my hand that they'd put in there for possible future IVs and such I spurted masses of blood, though. I take Eliquis and have really thin blood (besides the nurse assistant did a terrible job putting that needle in...it hurt like :censored:! ) After some confusion and considerable fright on my part, the nurse finally mashed some dressing down on the geyser and wrapped an Ace bandage thing around really tight. Finally stopped the mess...but there was blood all over that exam room! Unfun for sure.

Anyway...I'm home and apparently okay! Thank you all for caring!!

fourthrok, it's really great to hear that things have improved for you. And it's really nice you don't have to stay in the hospital sneaking vapes! :D
I used to be a bit more clever with sneaking vapes in the hospital...but the last two times I was there (including last night) I have been nearly busted! I need to work on my technique/observation skills!
