Well I was. Now I'm off. Family drama including one member far off the family assaulting my grand grand father and threatening to murder her own child. The people she knows and family had gathered to keep safe, called her to the police and her child has been taken by the child protection care and no one knows where he is at the moment. Special forces got involved to take him with them. She have been threatening many members of the family. And she's hiding from the police so she's still running around..

She had always been unstable, but it had never been this bad..

Merry christmas everybody!

Vapez

So very sorry Vapez.

So very sorry Vapez.
Thank you. My grand grand father is alright, he has some bruises, but he's fine. He took his car and drove right to us with his wife and celebrated christmas with us. They're 90 and 95 years old. Still in better shape than many 60 year olds I've seen :)

When the budget's tight and it's something you want, it IS exciting. No matter what it is.

Been there...

A shop vac is one of those thing up really don't need until you need it. Then you want two. But all tools are exciting. I just don't have any one the list that are within budget.

I'm glad to hear he's okay. Sounds like he made the right decision driving to your place. Hope all is calm now.

It came home to him that he really needs one, because the toilet in my bathroom needs that inner flushing-doohickey replaced; he says it's impossible to work on toilets without getting water everywhere, and mopping it all up is a pain. Plus, with all this rain, it's easy to see that we really need one in the garage; there's a small lake at the edge by the garage door.

But mainly we just wanted something around the same $$$ as my new mod, for him to open xmas day at my folks'; always in the past, he and I just go shopping after xmas with our xmas money and buy what we really want, but my mom thinks that's weird, not to give each other a gift to be opened xmas day. :D So when he saw me drooling over a webpage with that blue iPV mini and saw how cheap it was, he asked me if I wanted to order that for my xmas present from him -- YES! YES!!! :D So I'll be opening that pkg tomorrow, along with 3 new driptips to match it.

Hope all is well in your part of the world. I does seem like you are living in a toxic situation. All the best in getting out of it.

We got robbed this year. Broke all sorts of records with hi temp of 67 degrees (f for you metric folk). December 24th and STILL no snow this year.
We are presently 81F ....supposed to be even hotter tomorrow on Christmas Day (for us). Kind of a drag. Even Florida usually offers something a bit more moderate this time of year. But not this year. A/Cs are blasting away.

At 5pm, it's still 68 degrees here. Think it got to about 70ish this afternoon, fortunately most of the rain was before we went out and about. The Walmart parking lot was worse than the actual store... except the toy aisles. :D Got everything we went out for, and even managed to find some lo-fat egg nog at Publix, though Kroger was out.

I always expect to have to deal with the stink of cigarettes while walking thru parking lots, and today was no exception. But while cruising thru the Kroger parking lot... I saw a guy vaping!!!! My husband was blathering about something totally inconsequential and would NOT shut up, or I'd have gotten him to toot the horn, so I could give the guy one of those "here's to you!" waves with my CF4. :D But the other half was determined to keep talking, I could barely get in "that guy was vaping!" as we drove past, so no wave. :(

We had a surprise last night. It rained most of the day yesterday, but switched to snow. Enough to whiten the grass, and not going to melt off today. More expected tonight. It might melt off tomorrow afternoon.

So we got a white Christmas after all.

Temp is hovering around +2 C. (About 34 F)...damp and gray; typical Vancouver weather. My friend refers to it as "a cement sky". Not recommended for anyone suffering from S.A.D. Doesn't bother me. I'm happy I don't *have* to be sloggin' around in the damp cold now that I'm retired.

Christmas at the Post Office was always stressful; I often worked a 10 hour day so by the time I got to my brother's place for our family Christmas Eve, I was spent. Nothing left in the tank. I could hardly keep my eyes open. Different story now. I can stay awake past 10! Woohoo!

I do miss my customers at Christmas though; I loved seeing the wee ones get excited when receiving their letters from Santa :) I still have a homemade card from a very special little boy I delivered to. He had very slight autism and wouldn't look me in the eye. But he waited for me every day and I'd let him stuff his family's mail through his slot and give him a "high 5". The card was all scribbles with the words "I love daddy and Pat" (his mom wrote for him). For some reason he called me "Pat". Ahem, I think I have something in my eye...

And admittedly, I miss the tips. My customers were very good to me during the Holiday Season. I knew everyone by name (about 400 customers)...and their dogs! I'd get special treats for the pooches on my route -- "postman"-shaped dog treats :)

Yup, fond memories. Still, I'm happy to have been paroled from the prison as we called it.

Well folks, A Very Merry Christmas to one and all. Be safe, enjoy and take good care.

Cheers

Make sure if there is a leak there is a place for the water to go. Ours had a drain right next to it, but the pipe outside was clogged with dirt, no way for it to drain, it IS fixed now. (Edit: our water heater was dated from 1978 when the house was built)

Well the adjuster was here yesterday, took moisture readings, furniture and kitchen cabinets are still wet, and they pulled out the drying equipment Saturday saying everything was dry. Need to find a different company now that knows what they are doing to get it dried out. Glad we are going to others houses for Christmas, no way we could have it at ours this year. On a sorta plus note, the adjuster is putting in to replace the kitchen cabinets because of the water damage, just not looking forward to the kitchen being torn apart for who knows how long getting the work done. Oh Well, it is what it is. :)

A wise one once told me a most enchanting story, and while I cannot write it all out, I will say that the "punch line" stayed with me for a long time, and still remains a rather convincing mantra.

GOOD news, BAD news? Who knows. ;)

Perhaps your ordeal will turn into the best news ever!

They are somewhat Ming shape. My current favourites :p
