Kat, did you really wrap a coil and wick it yourself? I'm really impressed. I thought you were a confirmed blister-packer!:thumbs::thumbs:

I don't think the issue ever was that she *couldn't* -- it ain't exactly rocket surgery :D -- but she just didn't wanna. But now the governmental igmos are forcing her to new motivational levels. And as much as I enjoy the freedom I feel, not being bound to the buy-wait-use up cycle of pre-made coils, it steams my grits that someone should have to do anything they don't wanna, just because the governmental igmos are total greedy evil igmos. :-x Darling Kat was perfectly happy as a blisterpacker, but now those villains are forcing her to the dark side. :D

Wait. Flat ones? Really?

I don't even want to do this. I'm mezzzzzzzzzzzzmerized by the idea of modding with a toothpick, but the air flow is seems to be "ok". I can't say I love the vape on this, but it's vapocolyptically fine...... for now.

If the air flow suits you, then it's probably just a question of the right value and size coil, and proper wicking.

Just been reading on another thread that there are 15 diufferent coils for the TFV4 I won and 3 or 4 different RBA decks. According to what I was told one is a 4 post single Clapton base which I think is the one that comes with it.
Why would one need 4 posts for a single Clapton?

This is gettin more confusin than Kayfuns....

Unless you're looking at the V4 KF, it certainly does seem that way!

Totally agree, Andria. I moved to rebuilding because it's fun for me and I love saving money and being self sufficient. But everyone should be able to vape in the manner that works for them, not be forced into doing anything they don't want to do.

But I still had to harass Kat a little bit just for fun! :D

Yep, the $$$ savings and self-sufficiency for me too; that's mainly why I learned to cook, and still cook "real food" probably 3-4 days out of every 7 -- gotta have some microwave cuisine in there for little breaks here and there. :D And also make my own ejuice -- I make it the way *I* like it, since I'm the only one that's gonna vape it. :) Sure saves a TON of money, even with that 'spensive Shisha Strawberry I use so liberally. :)

And KD, I think you'll end up liking the KFL's vape, the more you get accustomed to it, learn all its little ways; when I first got a kayfun, and then when I first got an Achilles, I wasn't too sure of either of them at first, kinda had to "break them in"... but both came to enjoy most-favored status, for a tight-draw low-watts tootle puffer. :thumb: I only stopped using my kayfuns because this gunk monster I've vaped for a year really demands an RDA, so I don't waste so much juice to browning from back-washed gunk. If I take a notion to vape something less gunky... it could happen... ;) then I'll be right back to my kayfun kollection.

I just bought this one. It's been stuck in Jersey City for a few days now.
I think that is the one I got in 2013....I played around with trying to build coils for it for a bit...but there was too much stress in the house at the time (daughter and new grand baby were living with us) and I wanted to VAPE...not fiddle around with something. So I gave it up and went back to carto tanks at that point. In fact, it was at that point in my life and household circumstances that I stopped using my "fancy" mods, and went back to the good ol' reliable eGos.....and stayed there for the next 18 months or so.

Hear! Hear!!! THIS!!! It's hard to express just how ticked off I am that I have to learn to coil. I have other hobbies. I do other stuff. Messing with trying to get my vape to work is a serious pain, in my (and only my) opinion. I didn't have to mess with cigarettes. All I had to do was buy 'em and light 'em up and smoke 'em. Not that I want to do that again. I don't. But I also don't want to have to fiddle and fuss and make teeny tiny things with my aging arthritic hands and failing eyes just for the bit of comfort I get from vaping.

I royally hate what our gubmint is doing. Glad I'm old. Maybe I'll die soon and won't have to worry about it, anymore.

You KNOW that I'm with you on this, 4th. Blister packs till I die (hopefully)!

Did you see the latest development with the FDA? A small glimmer of hope maybe?

I'm already in stockpiling mode, but I'll happily have a fire sale if the regs don't make it through. It's still unlikely that they'll be stopped, but the fact that the FDA handed them off a "budgetary" might be a positive indication for us.

KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!!!! They're hearing us.

Somewhere out there
The Plus has adjustable airflow; the sans-Plus is very very tight, so tight it burns the wick even for a tootler -- I have one without the Plus, and it really sucks, as tight as I like airflow.

Andria

They aren't all tighter than + versions, I have one that's perfect. The cloners are dreadfully inconsistent in airflow hole sizes.

It may even be worth taking yours apart, in case something is blocking the airhole, or the hole in the center pin not aligned with the one in the base
