Because then you can just take out the amount of nicotine/base you need and not disturb the frozen state of more nicotine stash than is necessary at a time. I read that somewhere on ECF. Preserves the purity for longevity...sumthin' like that?
However the more I think about it, the less I'm sure of how well the non-nic ingredients of the base would do over long-term in the freezer. I could be wrong on if what I read was freezing the base itself or just freezing the nicotine in smaller amounts.

I believe some people do dilute down some that they actively use. Like, 250ml bottle to take out and just add flavor. But not all of it.

I just used Steam juice Calculator - does this look right for a 120ml batch of 12% nicotine base diluted from 100mg/ml nicotine?
And at est. average of 5ml use per day it would last me 24 days - soooooo....it would last me 4.5 years??
Which is 1000/14.4 = 69.4 120ml base batches ; 69.4 * 120ml = 8,333.33ml ; 8,333.33/5 = 1,666.67 days ; 1,666.67 / 365 = 4.57 years??? Am I even close?

I have one of the finned heat sinks on my Silverplay V1, I run that with dual coils at 65W all the time and have never noticed any melting of the plastic insulator.
The insulator is probably PTFE or Teflon which requires over 500F to melt. If they are getting over 500F at the 510 connector then there are some serious issues with the atty...
In general, best to not dilute what you're going to store. Hence why many break out liters into smaller jars. Take out one small jar, as needed, to mix down your juice. Nic in PG is the best for long term storage.
And many do mix a large amount of "base", at close to their preferred nic level and PG/VG ratio. I vape "around" 18 of 65/35, so mix my 100 mg nic down to my base of 20 mg nic at 60/40, letting the flavorings move it close enough. And I don't re-freeze that base, just cool and dark.
It's not really a good idea; a) it takes vastly more storage space when diluted; b) if you keep what you're "using out of" in a small enough bottle (30ml is what I use for that, which I keep in the fridge), then it's used up before anything happens to it; and c) over long enough time -- years -- some of the freezer-stashed nic's strength will be lost; if it's in 100mg form, then it might only drop to 90 or 95mg; if it's at "use strength", then after it loses strength, it's no longer strong enough.
I mentioned that my 120ml bottles will be for long-term storage; what that means is that, if I do end up needing to use it, then I would pour 30ml of it into a bottle to keep in the fridge, and keep the other 90ml in the freezer.

I can handle arithmetic just fine, thanks -- my budgets are always *to the penny* in agreement with the bank. It's MATH I cannot handle -- formulas, exponents, and crap like that.

My first liter went into 30 ml bottles. whew! My next 2 went into 120 ml bottles.
According to the most expert chemists here on ECF, the drop in nic strength over the years will be minimal. All liquid, be it nic base or premade, is best stored in the freezer, with as little air in the bottle or jug as pastable.
The degradation in our stored nic SHOULD be negligible. Madvapes did quite a number of studies on this, tho, sorry, I don't have the links handy dandy.
For me it really is about storage space. I keep mine in litres (fits nicely in the door of my freezer) then when I open one I decant to 4x250 then when I need to open a 250 I decant to 5x50 four one of which stay in the freezer and one in the meat tray in my fridge. We don't have children so we can be a bit more blasé about what we have where.

Yeah, I've got nearly a liter in 30ml bottles; I'll be putting this liter i just got into 120ml bottles. i also still have the last 120ml I got from VT in the fridge -- just procrastinating, mostly. I'm thinking of putting it into 60ml bottles, so I don't have to use up all the rest of my 30ml bottles. I got some 60ml bottles from Wizlabs with those conical-insert caps a while back, but I don't have any conical-insert caps for my 30ml bottles, just the regular caps.
When it all gets stored away, I'll have right at 2L in the freezer. That's about 22 yrs worth at my current 5mg; if the deeming does go badly, I'll probably start dropping slowly again, to get down to 3mg, which would give me around 35 yrs' worth.
