Wow! 300k in words. Now, I feel fully under dressed. I only managed a 90k word horror novel. Got the first draft finished. Wife started to read, critique it. She shot it full of holes.
I had put a copy of it on one of those Zip disk things. During our moving here, there, here that disk got kludged up and could not be used unless I could afford expensive data recovery. She tells me to try rewriting it.
Have sat and tried to no avail. I keep getting lost in editing details. Ugh.
Maybe I ought to holler at Mr. Koontz again and rent another van up in the New England area, go for a little Stephen, erm ride. ooops. * snickering *

That historical might have been 400,000 words already written, it's hard to recall, since I haven't even looked at it in about 15 yrs. But it was always meant to be multi-volumes, not just one book. It was set in the Regency period, and I did a GREAT deal of research on language (you can't use the expression "poker face" in a time/place where poker hadn't been invented! Likewise no baseball metaphors -- anachronisms are the historical novelist's bane!), dress, and even the Napoleonic war(s) -- that was what inspired me to actually read War & Peace; everyone always blathers on about how long that book is, and I actually love really long books, and it was in the era I was writing about, sooooo... I read it. Took about a week I think, one of the longer reads I've ever encountered, just because 19th century fiction is so extremely *dense* and sometimes the sentences go on for full paragraphs... which might explain a bit about why I write that way; read so much 19th cent lit.
Sadly, after 9/11, it just seemed... irrelevant. I thought we were about to be at war, crazy people parachuting into our backyards a la Red Dawn with turbans. That, on top of still not really recovered from waking to find our mobile home almost on fire a couple years before, coupled with the hormonal mayhem of peri-menopause, and my whole life just kinda crashed. I guess the 400,000 words is still around here someplace.

When I first started using my Achilles, I was taking the cap off every 10 mins, since I didn't know how often to refill or how to tell when it needed it -- but after a while, with most attys, you can *just tell* -- the flavor will fall off just a little as it begins to get dry. You just kinda have to use it for a while to get used to the signals it gives you.

Again it happens when I am outside. I was walking home, loud music on my ears, suddenly I hear footsteps behind me. I look behind me, no one there. I look again and I see a man in black clothes. I can then hear running and someone touching my jacket. I look behind me real quick and no one is there.
Rest of the way home I felt like I was followed and forced to look behind me all the time until I got home. This is freaking me out. There was never anyone behind me, but I could see one in my head.
This keeps happening more often. When I'm alone and inside I tend to hear and see things as well. So I usually have loud music on when I am to not hear anything. And keep my mind focused on one thing at a time.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Oh and I got some mechs today as well

Rest of the way home I felt like I was followed and forced to look behind me all the time until I got home. This is freaking me out. There was never anyone behind me, but I could see one in my head.
This keeps happening more often. When I'm alone and inside I tend to hear and see things as well. So I usually have loud music on when I am to not hear anything. And keep my mind focused on one thing at a time.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Oh and I just got my first fire today! User error. Was drying the non organic cotton I had put on in an emergency yesterday and it turned out to be really flamable. Blew it out right away, took out the cotton and rewicked, good as new

Hmm... I can't tell if you're joking or what... but in case you're not... you desperately need to get to a shrink ASAP, and mention "paranoid schizophrenia." Feeling of being followed, when you're not - paranoid; seeing/hearing things that really aren't there = schizophrenia.

I will, this week I will go. It's terrible walking outside.
And I can barely control myself fully when alone outside either. I keep thinking that every person is looking at me, judging etc. I know they aren't, but thst's how I feel. Sometimes I even put down my mod because other people can see...And struggle talking to people I don't know.
This is super scary, I've never been like this before and never thought I would be like this. I really hope this is something that'll pass. Sorry, I'm breaking off the thread again.

If it's so severe that you're imagining someone following you, can even see and hear them, I don't think it's going to "pass", without some serious medication. And there is good medication for that these days, so don't think it's the end of the world -- it's a brain chemical malfunction, and it can be corrected. Seriously... GO!

Sometimes such perceptions are present with severe depression and stress. Once the other things are taken care of, those symptoms also abate. We can't diagnose on the internet.

Yeah mate, this is pretty much leak proof, better flavor, the Velocity is on its way back to the supplier, I just won't use it.
