Actually SNM, I have to say, I worked with some fantastic people. I made some very good friends while "serving time at the prison". Of course there were some "interesting" folks there but we kind of got used to their quirks.
Contrary to public belief, many letter carriers have degrees, teaching certificates and many other talents. My customers too, were awesome; some who passed while I was working and whose funerals I attended.
My last day I managed to hold back tears while saying so long to co-workers and customers. Took me 2 hours longer to complete my route on my final day.
Posties get a bad rap; from my experience, undeservingly so.
I'll climb down from my soapbox now. I don't like heights.

Cheers, SNMThe postman we have now (last few years) had disappeared for a few months. When I saw him back on his route I asked what was up,he'd suffered a heart attack and just came back to do light duty, and would only be delivering every other week and he'll be retiring soon.
Anyhow sometimes when he's delivering to our house we stand and chat for 15 or so minutes about whatever comes to mind.If he's delivering a parcel and you don't answer ther door he'll come back the next day with it instead of giving the card to go pick it up at Shoppers. He's one heck of a good guy and we'll miss hime when he finally retires.
I've always had great service from our postmen/women.Thumbs up to yous guys!!!
I know our postie and most of the delivery drivers (who are contractors). I think they get a bum rap as well. Over here they are stuck in a system that lets it customers down way before it gets to them but it's them that have to face the customer and bear the brunt of that customer's frustration. I am very patient about deliveries because in all my time of ordering online only 2 packages have ever gone missing for good and I was compensated.

And I thought you were trying to say all of my threads come from the "jawbone of an a$*"![]()
My wife would've said you were right.
