To bring it back on topic I'd like to remind everyone that the party overseeing the destruction of vaping is in power in the White House. They made 100% of the appointments that run the FDA, and will battle us in the courts.
Explain to us exactly how turning this discussion into your personal distaste of Democrats is bring it back on-topic??? If I launch into a Republican-bashing tirade about the way they cower and tow to BT, does that make it under the "on-topic" radar as well???????

Really????

Make it about the issue, not the people. Or all anyone is going to hear is your party-bashing and nothing else.

Speaking of off topic...as well as kind of missing who, exactly, supposedly runs the other two branches of government right now.

The R's don't have anything to do with the regulations as of yet.

Read it and weep.
President Obama announced his intent to nominate the following individuals to key Administration posts:

Dr. Rob Califf, Nominee for Commissioner of Food and Drugs, Department of Health and Human Services

Dr. Rob Califf is Deputy Commissioner for Medical Products and tobacco at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a position he has held since March 2015. Dr. Califf has served in various capacities at Duke University School of Medicine and the Duke University Medical Center between 1982 and 2015. At Duke University School of Medicine, he served as Vice Chancellor, Director of the Duke Translational Medicine Institute, which he founded in 2006, and as Professor of Medicine. He also served as the Director of the Cardiac Care Unit at the Duke University Medical Center. He founded the Duke University Clinical Research Institute in 2006 and served as its Director. Dr. Califf also served on the Executive Committee of the Duke Health System. He has served in a number professional organizations, including committees of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies (IOM), the IOM Clinical Research Roundtable, the IOM Committee on Medication Errors, and the IOM Board on Health Sciences Policy. He served on the FDA’s Cardio renal Advisory Committee from 1996 to 2000 and on the FDA’s Science Board Working Group from 2007 to 2008. Dr. Califf received a B.S. and an M.D. from Duke University.

If you do not wake up to the facts, and you let your partisan feelings get in the way, then I'd say you've lost the battle already.

We need to know who to defeat in coming elections. Read it and weep.

I find it funny that anyone thinks I'm D or R, b/c I made a comment about D's. They all stink. Go after the ones in office now that are against us. Currently that is the D's.

Satisfied? Did your Earthly deity get bashed? Sorry...

(rolls eyes) Congress chose not to attach the bill rider and hasn't implemented an independent bill (one's been stuck in committee). Congress, both houses, are currently under Republican control. Vaper hate's pretty bipartisan. QED. There are no viable Independent candidates, so that's not going to ride to the rescue, either.

The question is more how to change some part of that. In the mean time, it's more how to survive without going back to cigarettes for the duration. We have the latter part of that nailed down, but wow, we stink at the former.

Well, you're talking to a guy that just spent weeks trying to get vapers in the Chicagoland area galvanized, and informed, but just ONE other ECF member showed up, and out of the 100+ shops, nobody told customers and none of the vape shops showed up...so I guess everything accomplished will be btw the 25 ppl here in this forum, and CASAA/SAFTA/...

We are not able to get anyone motivated to move.

I'm not the one who dragged Party Politics into this - YOU DID.
My position has been unwavering, you can look at my posts and check: Party is irrelevant, how they're voting is what matters. You have been consistent with making it all about the Democrats who are screwing you all in Chicago, etc, etc, etc. End of discussion. Read, with no weeping on my part.

Just the knowledge that people like you are going to be undermining the fight against Draconian regulations because you're so busy waving red capes around the bulls, dragging personal political agendas into the matter, angers me more than anything.

And yet you continue on... but it's falling on deaf ears. As long as we're taking an inventory, lets see what you've done over the last few months.

Over the last three months, I've Tweeted (with more than 100,000 impressions on both of my Twitter accounts), called & emailed multiple times (500+ people Cook County Commissioners, Alderman, Senators and Vape shops), driven to 25+ vape shops to discuss issues caused by DEMOCRATS (in control of Chicago for 80+ yrs and created a billion dollar debt at the City of Chicago, a billion dollar debt at the Cook County level, and a $10 billion dollar debt at the State of Illinois level) that caused the $1.25 TAX per ml that goes in to effect in Chicago Jan 1, 2016, and posted to ECF and VU to get people to stand up for their rights at a Vape-In, in Chicago that was held December 19th.

And other than impress you fellow Democrats in statements directed to me what have you done?

I'll quit.....

Take one dripper, 2 kayfuns and my vape gear and fill them with 0 percent, vape that for a week and put the whole lot on Ebay.

BT can go **** itself.

I'm never going to quit. I'll be extracting nicotine from tobacco and using unregulated box mods after dropping around $5k on supplies in 2016.

I've more than proved the people who vape cannot be assembled in to a cohesive faction, b/c they have things more important to do in their lives, or the people they have to be galvanized to attack, are the ones in charge passing laws at the moment. If they all need to be thrown out of office for opposing vaping, then do name names, and lets get at it. Hanging a guy b/c you don't like him, who is out of office, doesn't improve the stature of vaping at all.

My apologies to all, especially Tommy-Chi.
Hot-button got pressed and stuck.
Tired of seeing everyone's politics getting drug out around here as justifications for {fill in blank}.
If I want political commentary, I can watch Fox or MSNBC.
Not here, not what I'm here for.

My apologies too.

However, we need to name names, and as I said, I don't care if the clown has a D or R in front of their name. If they are against vaping then post their name and affiliation so we can see what is going on here and set upon them, dismantling them, and taking them down.

As far as TVs go, the last TV show I watched was "Lost." I do not have a working TV in my house and follow a myriad of news resources on Twitter. I put the drivel TV pumps out out of my head long ago. I'm not going to be spoon fed what to think or do.

I'm here like everyone else. There are few of us. We are here for vaping.

Sad, isn't it? I wonder if they'll wake up when the businesses they're used to buying stuff from (whether B&M or on-line) start to disappear?

On the national level, there is a clear partisan pattern. Virtually every politician who has publicly bad-mouthed vaping is on one team, while every last co-sponsor of H.R.2058 is on the other team.

That said, I don't root for either team. Politics has way too many parallels to a WWF "wrestling" match.
