China tobacco International does over $100 Billion in sales. vaping as a whole is a gnat on their trouser cuffs.
It doubled just this past year. If it takes two years for the regulations to take effect, that will be a 6 to 9 billion dollar a year industry in the U.S. alone. Japan tobacco wanted some of that; I bet there are a few other big companies watching closely as well.

Despite what we think, this market is just now hitting a huge growth spurt. Projected sales world wide are estimated to be 50 billion dollars in the next 15 years.

A $6B market that is in its infancy and is projected by some to account for up to 50% of global tobacco sales in the coming few decades is not insignificant to any company that is involved in selling cigarettes or tobacco HW/consumables.

Considering China produces the lions share of vaping hardware and accessories, you can bet they won't just close up shop due to a few legal hurdles.

I agree BreSha6869. Only a big company that cannot see past its nose would close up shop. The big players are looking way past their noses at this :)

Oh, very likely. It's being done already. All incoming international mail and parcels are screened by CBP. Granted, they're looking for other stuff now, but not a big reach to have them start flagging shipments from suspect companies/addresses for "further screening".
Thoughtful reply. The govt is not omniscient. They put their pants on one leg at a time..

Peeking in windows?

I would not mind seeing some of China's Profits coming back to the US in the way of Lawyers Fees in challenging any/all coming regulation :D

Hey, cash flow is good for the economy

Not with the new deeming laws and Fed regs. These laws will stunt your growth numbers drastically imho. Maybe I'm wrong but....my point and gnat reference are that they simply swat us off their trouser cuff with money and legislation then monopolize the industry. Surely it is important to BT but not as important as the vaping community makes it out to be.

But, how to get a Lemo type atty through the application process? You might lose $2 million trying.
The real problem with a device like that is that it won't ensure a consistent dose of nicotine.
And it isn't tamper proof. And it can leak and expose children to nicotine.

So can we start a list of all things vapor, gear and liquid that were available pre 2007? Does such a list exist.

The most recent article I read states companies will have two years to meet the regulations. That is two more years of unrestrained growth in the U.S. plus the World Market. Companies have plenty of time to make more money and we have plenty of time to spend ours.

We are not the market that tobacco is right now; but the recent growth is pretty astounding. Two years to get ready and I fully believe more big companies like Japanese Tobacco will invest over the next year or two.

We do not want to suck carcinogens in to our body, we don't want to stink like stinkies, and most of our loved ones feel the same way. This is not the end of a flavourful vape by any means. That is just my opinion but there are a lot of dollars and common sense that helped me form it :)

And stinkies are child proof? Come on, my dad made me eat a stinkie the first time I got caught; and my son tried eating one when he was a toddler. Is liquor or beer child proof? Just because we have to be 18, does not mean it has to be child resistant. I think you are thinking more in line with a prescription and they have not deemed this to require a prescription. That would crush big tobacco as well.

The FDA can not change cigarettes by regulation.
They are prohibited from doing so by the FSPTCA itself.

That same FSPTCA allows them to regulate any new products though.
And they've given indications of what concerns they intend to address with those regulations.

No, stinkies are not child proof but they are already regulated. I don't get your point?

While such a list might be interesting, it wouldn't be particularly useful. A more useful list would be that showing products that were available then, which are STILL available now. Are there ANY such products at all?
