Just musing---I wonder how many of us said "I need to go out and smoke a stinky" back when we were still smokers or said " I need to go buy a pack of stinkies" ? Not really a question, just curious.

Sorry for butting in so Back to the original discussion :D

I guess I was in denial about just how bad they might be for me so just called them smokes. I figured they would be a part of my life, for the rest of my life. Then along came these miracle devices and the 'powers that be' are doing their best to not only stop the progress but also to roll it back to the beginning

black market or not, this is terrible for all of us.... and I shudder to think about price hikes in both PV/accessory, and NIC solution. I already can't afford to vape anything BUT my own DIY juice... Now I have to worry about pure NIC solution going up in price as-well. GULP! those of us whom never attended a college class or a technical school lecture are IN for it... If you too, make min wage, expect to find another 10-20% of your $200/ a week paycheck missing, compared to today. GULP.

I'm not worried about inovation and production of devices. Except for evolve all the interesting design and manufacturing seems to be in Asia. The FDA does not regulate Asia. The US is not the center of the smoking universe in any sense. There are about 1 billion smokers. 40 million of them are in the US, just 4%.

I've written this before. A smoker inhales 1mg of nic from one cigarettes. At $60 a carton (Michigan price) that works out to 30 cents per mg of nicotine. A 1 liter bottle of 100mg nic has 100,000 mg of nic, the same as 100,000 cigarettes, 5,000 packs. If liquid nicotine was priced the same as nicotine in the cigarettes I used to smoke a 1 liter bottle would be worth $30,000 (instead of the $50 I paid). Gold is $1,000 an ounce. Nicotine from cigarettes costs $7,500 an ounce. Nicotine in liquid form is $14 an ounce. Ecigs are going to crush tobacco because of the price advantage. The health benefit is just a nice bonus.

Here is something ironic. Nicotine is blamed for making us smokers. Now we are using nicotine to make us not smokers. We've changed nicotine from a killer to a life saver.

Please put some nic in the freezer.

Peeking in windows?

I would not mind seeing some of China's Profits coming back to the US in the way of Lawyers Fees in challenging any/all coming regulation :D

Hey, cash flow is good for the economy
<dry humor> Really?? You're good with the money going to the lawyers? </dry humor>

This is a good start in understanding their approach...
FDA issues Brief Summary of “Not Substantially Equivalent” Determinations delineating why deeming reg would ban all e-cigs

That is just substantial equivalence.
PMTAs will be even worse.

I don't remember where to find the stuff about consistent doses.
If I can find that I'll post it, or maybe someone else will.
Yep, the INADEQUATE INFORMATION argument which is short for we can ban whatever we want to ban. It's a brutal summation. Thanks for posting. 50 pages that say a cig a like could be different than a .18 ohm Ti build in a Velocity on a DNA200 mod...l

not illegal at all ... locked down cigalikes are what's coming :smokie:
everything else will die a slow death ... folks like Rossum, myself and others are not affected
This is gonna hit a lot of vapers like a ton of bricks
Others checking in :)
This is gonna hit a lot of smokers like a ton of stinky cancerous tar

A high percentage of new vapers use cigalikes.
Some evolve to better gear, some stay switched using cigalikes but that must be so expensive that many must quit nicotine completely or relapse to cancersticks.

People act so surprised that greedy and corrupt businesses, politicians and agencies would rather let people die than lose profit, power or their jobs.
Here's a few words to remind us what humans are made of

Auschwitz
Darfur
Rwanda
Boko Haram
ISIL
Dick Cheney fans

Time to organize and protest! Here the law was passed and was to take effect January 1st 2016, one protest that was organized in just 8 days made a big difference, 300 people showed up, they pushed the date back and are going to make changes...

Make sure your mission statement is clear..

#VapingIsNotSmoking
#VapingSavesLives
And whatever else concerns you specifically.

Put up flyers showing how much safer ENDS (Electronic Nicotine Delivery System) are compared to tobacco, make them appealing to non-vapers and non-smokers as well, saying how many of your loved ones lives could have been or will be saved thanks to ENDS?, make posts on social media, contact your local officials and yes have a rally! Point out the fact that 1000s will lose their jobs, homes and their livelihood.

Be sure to shy away from the word "e-cigarette" and refer to them as ENDS or Vaping instead, having the word cigarette in there has done nothing but harm to the industry.

We've spoken to a lot of gov officials here, most of them had NO clue with anything about vaping other than what they've seen in the media, they think they are full of formaldehyde, antifreeze and other terrible stuff, educating them has gone a LONG way, we went from one official supporting us to many.

Push for the fact that they should be separated from big tobacco, they are a means of cessation and should be kept out of the hands of the people that people want to get away from.

just bumping an awesome post
