2009 was worse, because the FDA was confiscating shipments of electronic cigarette products.

But then the lawsuit stopped that and so it was a very short-lived problem that never really impacted the average vaper.
Although there were some retailers that got slammed pretty hard.

This is not as bad, yet, because nothing has happened yet.
But if the worst case scenario plays out, this will be just as bad if not worse.

Or maybe the regulations proposed by the FDA will be reasonable and not so problematic.
Either way, we are going to know where we stand well before the fan gets hit by any brown stuff.
They were also seeking an outright ban in 09 and classifying it as an unapproved drug/delivery combination. Now they just want to regulate and tax teh holy crap out of us like they do cigs, but not make it illegal. As somebody else said, now that they've got it classified as a tobacco product and the original court ruling said they can't classify it as a drug just because of nic they can't ban it without banning tobacco too.

Leaves the nic base. Stored in a deep freezer in airtight brownglass bottles it'll keep for decades...

I have my doubts. From what I have read maybe two or three years in VG. Some claim at least three years in PG. Others say up to ten years in PG. I don't know. Can someone enlighten me with some verifiable facts about degradation?

I honestly hope that if it does look like the ANTZ are winning, more people will become even more involved in the fight.

I'm torn between the two sides. One says nothing much will change, the other says it can be banned. Common sense tells me that it will be somewhere between.

I'm fighting and hoping that in the fighting and bringing awareness, it helps stem the tide of those wishing we would just disappear. The larger our numbers, the better chance we have in the fight.

If the apocalypse actually takes place, I will probably do what Zoe plans on doing, then throw myself on the mercy of friends here.....*sad puppy dog eyes*

Seriously, I hate to say this ... but, what I think might happen is, BT (all the usual suspects are now involved and doing R&D) is going to produce their own gear and will convince the FDA that they should be the only suppliers ... regulation will paint all juice vendors as bootleggers ... JCreek will get swallowed by BLU and their BT owners.

BT will set the pricing as high if not higher than tobacco ... it will be marketed as a smoking alternative and never as a smoking cessation (regardless of the success stories we all see growing daily).

I also predict vaping will eventually help every smoker quit analogs letting BT not miss out on the money. IMO, BT has the FDA and Health Canada in their back pocket.

As I mentioned, I hate to say this ... I just don't see it going anywhere else.

Please don't down vote me ... because I also hope that I am wrong :(

The thing is, it needs to stay considerably cheaper than smoking to help make up for all the money wasted while experimenting to find what works.

Yes, it's much cheaper in the long run. But, it can cost more to get started, especially if there are problems adjusting or finding the right combination that works.

Besides the simple fact that I can't see any EXCUSE to make it cost as much as cigarettes. There's no VALID excuse for a sin tax on vaping.

yea, the name of this thread is stupid but i thought it would gain a lot of attention for a good cause. lets say tobacco companies do all they can in their power to make ecigs illegal. lets say they are successful and ecigs are illegal tomorrow. Yea, the odds of this happening are very slim, but lets be hypothetical for a second. what would you do? what plan of action would you take? would you stop vaping? or would you choose to live a life outside the law?

Well I spent 150 plus dollars on cigs...I now can afford to spend that on vaping..hope it lasts me through

This is pretty much what I see. I think it's a strong possibility that the FDA will deem that e-cigs have to be substantially equivalent to what was on the market in 2007. I also believe that they will deem the BT products like Blu, NJOY etc. are substantially equivalent to the 2007 devices. But nothing else will be allowed. That eliminates all other products and bottles of liquid. End result is that BT is the only player and the taxes are back in the government coffers. The only losers are the consumers and the small businesses that drive the rest of the market.
