So after about three years of rocking super low ohms, and busting out trucksized cloudes, I decided to break out my dusty old kayfun. And I have to admit that I've kind of missed that way of vaping. And I've been thinking about getting a new MTL tank.
So I was wondering, what's been happening on the MTL side of things the last couple of years? What is the tank to get today?

Sadly, not a whole lot. Seems people prefer "busting out trucksized clouds" in favor of a relaxing, satisfying throat hit ;)

Kayfun 5 (with MTL kit) and Kayfun Mini 3 are probably the highest profile new releases for the MTL world. Theres several others, but you really have to hunt to find them.

What I've personally been using is a genny style RDTA (Avocado), as having side airflow allows you to restrict the air hole that is actually HITTING the coil. Which still gives a satisfying MTL vape, for me at least.

I've been trying to set my Avocado up for MTL too. But even with just the one air-hole open it is still a bit too loose for MTL, at least for me.
Maybe I just need to fiddle around with it a little more.
How do you set yours up?

kayfun V5, Kayfun V3 mini, Cloud One all fantastic M2L. The new ataman v3 is stellar also. Havent tried it yet but the By-Ka sounds great - waiting for mine to arrive from belarus!! lol!

If you want to go the genisis route, the Nextgen is excellent (and the new Nextasis also apparently) and the In'ax Mk3 is also top notch.

All rebuildables of course though!!

ps. the Squape X-dream in SC mode is an excellent vape but a general PITA at least for me...

....also the Yellowkiss Pico, the Izi...the list goes on!

oh and there is a new GP Heron in the works....

Yea, the single airhole will be too loose for a nice MTL. I actually use the slotted airflow hole, and then restrict it all the way down until there is very little left of the opening. Then I position that hole to right in front of the coil. The nice thing about a slot is that you can adjust it to whatever size you want.

I resoundingly disagree! See my post above :)
Sorry to be a downer, thats just how it feels to me these days. The DL crowd gets 75% of the new products these days. Unless you're looking at the more obscure semi-high end market. Especially with Eliquids, as its virtually impossible to find new juices coming out at anything above 6mg nic.

And it just seems like most of the tanks you listed, all need some kind of rigging to be set up for MTL. They're targeted for DL, with a "MTL option." Which, in my opinion, is never quite as good as something purpose-built for MTL. KF5 needs an airhole reducer. SqX needs a SC deck. Merlin needs an airhole reducer (included). Etc. Haven't tried the By-Ka, looks interesting, although I don't like the length of the wick tails. Seems to be an awful long distance for liquid to travel vertically. I'm just picky about that, as many of my ADVs are stubborn wickers.

Hey you folks have left out the new Tilemahos Tanks. The V2 Plus and the X1 are great MTL RTAs; NO More COIL Building.:thumb: And of course as mentioned above the Kayfun v3 Mini remains a staple in my rotation as do the Tilemahos Tanks. Some other staples but not new are the Kabuki with P3 connection and the Aspire Nautilus. The Squape X is a pain and not worth the money for the hassle, but if your skilled enough to get it set; it can be a treat.

I was vaping the Kayfun Monster Mini V3, and switched to a Kayfun lite plus V2 for MTL vaping.

Thats what's great about a Kayfun. MTL or DL Vapes depending on what a person wants.

2nd for the Origen tiny! The Origen Genesis 4 ml or 6 ml is definitely mtl friendly. You can use cotton if you so desire. I have only used mesh in mine, but it would be simple with cotton. Squape r(s) is also a viable option . It has an air hole that is probably less than 1/2 a mm lol. That should do the trick!! I know what you mean though everything coming out now seems like more air!!! 0.0001 ohms at 3000 watts!!! It's getting ridiculous in my opinion but to each his own

Here is the sad truth about the hyped Kayfun V5:

Even with the M2L Kit, which I have, it does NOT make the Kayfun V5 a good MTL device. The reason is that the V5's inner chamber is too big, which means muted flavour when you draw because you first need to suck out this air.

I have the V5, V3 (Plus) and a bunch of old KFL2+ - I am a very "extreme" MTL vaper who likes airflow very, very tight. You will laugh, the best OVERALL experience after weeks of comparing all the Kayfuns is still the KFL2+

With the exact same wattage, coil and liquid, at about 14-16W there is a flavour note/kick with the KFL2+ which is NOT there with the KF5 and possibly also not with the V3, although the V3 might come close. I tried for the longest to find out what the difference is (because I couldn't explain it) until someone mentioned the larger chamber of the V5 responsible for the muted flavour, which makes total sense to me (As said, this is WITH the M2L kit).

For M2L, the V5 is extremely overrated and overhyped. It is BY FAR not "a great M2L atty"! I also find its airflow control entirely ....ty and non-practicable and in general it's a very "meh" atty for M2L.

** Why I still like the KFL2+: As said, overall best experience for MTL, it has the "perfect" draw, it has the biggest tank capacity (4.5ml in my case). All you need to do is wick it properly (which took me months to find out ;) ), that is, when you wick it you keep the juice channels on the side unobstructed by cotton. (With a small screwdriver etc. you push the cotton inwards towards the chimney)

I don't know about any of the other mentioned devices, but I think I'd simply get some super-cheap KFL2+ clones for $9 or so rather than any of the newer devices. All I know is that when someone says that the V5 is a "great MTL device" I have reason to not take their advice
